Played my first game, loved every minute of it. Crowd was great and I love the battle for the ball toward the corner of the field. Played full manual except for shooting which was semi (I was horrible). Pro, 10 minute halves, slow speed.

One goal I gave up was on a penalty.

I've played a few games and I'm liking it but as of now I enjoy 14 more. For some reason the pace of the game just feels way too fast. I played on Slow with player speed knocked down two clicks. Even then it almost looks like the game has gone back to the days of FIFA 13 and earlier where players are in hyperspeed down the field. It's very comparable to goalies in the NHL series. I believe this will be fixed (Orion's sliders) so I'm not too concerned about it yet unless it's unfixable.

The buildup is non existent. It's seriously just end to end. I know FIFA is notorious for this style of play but in 14 I was seeing much more passing and creation. The pace of the game just seemed more slowed down and strategical when they were on attack. I played on World Class for all of my games (my normal skill level from FIFA 14) and the CPU is damn near perfect with everything. I've lowered the passing slider moderately but they make 0 mistakes handling the ball. All the players do is dribble the ball back and forth, make a pass if necessary and take a shot. It's just angering me how the CPU will dribble the ball at will and never lose it. I know my defense needs to improve but when they are wiggling back and forth with the ball 4 times and not losing the ball it's aggravating. I've seen this with crappy players even.

So far I have to say I enjoyed FIFA 14's gameplay way more and that's probably because Orion's sliders made it that way. I think sliders will really help 15 though. I'm also very intrigued at adjusting the Custom tactics. I think that could really help get the CPU to slow their pace down and buildup. At the very least I just want to separate what each team does. As of now I feel no difference at all between teams.

I will say this though, the crowd, atmosphere, and presentation are just ridiculously good. That's what really draws me in so far. It legitimately sounds like you are watching a game on TV. The game feels as good as ever but I think it's just going to take some tweaks to make this game feel organic and get the CPU moving the ball around. Right now I just don't get that soccer feeling, but rather an up and down game like the NHL series is notorious for. I think I will go down to pro and see what that level has in store.

I thought Clint Dempsey was on the North American cover along with Messi? I just picked up the game and it is just Messi.

Probably on the Ultimate Team version...???

Probably just on the US version.

Fifa 15 is amazing this year, the attention they put into the stadiums and player likenesses really shine through. I am hoping the WBA fans "boing" after goals, but I am sure they don't. I will check that out tonight.

Played around with Liverpool and playing at Anfield is a treat. The Kop acts differently from the rest of the fans and the chants are a wonderful thing.

Gameplay is so much fun. I feel like the game opened up more. Headers are much less OP (thank the lord). I am really going to settle into career mode tonight. Can't wait.

Its weird, but there are copies that have just Messi on it (friend has one like this).

Its fine though, Dempsey looks terrible in his cover picture anyway

Orion mentioned defending being something he didn't like as much in 15 and I concur. It's much harder to defend this year.

Here is why I think that is.

You cannot stop on D. You can feel this in the GK gold skill game too, when the attackers are coming at you I can't figure out how to stop the keeper and stand my ground and then jump to parry, the keeper just keeps shuffling around. In the games your defensive player is doing the same kind of constant moving.

So when the CPU cuts and dinks and swerves you have no counter "braking" ability like the LT or LB button when you have the ball.

If you could just stop and stand your ground and then shuffle left or right to contain, defense would be much more enjoyable.

If you say just let go of LS that isn't the answer as the controlled player seems stuck in the inertia of momentum and can't just come to a stop like the offensive player can.

I can go outside right now with my running shoes on and run directly at a tree and then come to a complete stop 2 feet from it by just planting both feet and leaning back a proportionate amount to my relative speed. My 80 ovr defender should be able to do this all game long whenever I want.

If somebody knows how to come to a quick stop on D please let me know.

That's why FIFA is never a day one purchase for me. Out of the box is simply unplayable, but it becomes a good game when Orion & the slider guys start working on it.

Last year and for FIFA 13 I got the game in November, once the slider sets are consolidated (and the game price is a little lower).

Can anyone confirm that ONLINE COOP SEASONS in the game? I heard that this mode was taken out of the FIFA 14 Next-gen version last year.

That was my favorite mode from FIFA 14 on Xbox 360.
Online Co-Op Seasons is shown on one of the menus. I've not tried it yet though.

Canada got a non-US cover this year. It also just says "FIFA 15" on the cover and spine rather than the "FIFA Soccer 15". Or did they change that this year for the US version as well?

What? I bought FIFA 14 last year for PS4 the first day it came out and Co-Op seasons was in the game... I played over 300 games (was the main game mode I played). So I'm not sure who told you that it wasn't in the game...

I thought it was just my tv or system. Glad to see I'm not imagining things. Hopefully they fix it, but it's not a big deal.

You can do this fine. Whenever I hold L and stop moving the left stick my defender plants and holds his ground. You can also shuffle while you hold the L button depending on where the attackers go.

Granted on higher difficulties its certainly more difficult to contain attackers, which can be frustrating, but I dont agree with the notion that you cant "stop" on defense at all.

off to try this

and you mean LT right? or LB? What L is it?

# 35 Wavebird99 @ 09/23/14 03:29 PM
Yes, LT, not the bumpers.

Once you start holding it your defenders go into a "defensive" stance I guess is how you would put it. You can coral attackers much easier this way.

Ok yeah jockey.

But my players still seem to be sliding around a bit and not just holding their ground. Thanks for this though, I will try it again.

This is the best Fifa game, and the best sports game I have EVER played. Playing with Barca with minimal formation changes and on slow game speed was incredible. Fifa should be VERY proud of this product that they put out.

Seeing Messi begin to celebrate before the ball even crossed the line was one of the greatest things I've ever seen

Man, I REALLY need to work on breakaways...

I was the in the same boat with the demo until I tried these two ways.

Use RB+shot to finesse it far post.

Or just tap b quickly to keep the shot low. Low shots are serious problems for the keepers this year.

# 40 gopher_guy @ 09/23/14 04:09 PM
I love the time wasting that the CPU does.

I mean, it's frustrating when it's happening, but it's cool to see because it's realistic. I was trailing late to West Brom with Spurs, and they were running the ball to the corner, and doing other stuff to waste as much time as possible. It was kind of cool. Gives a different feel to each game based on what is happening.
