You subscribe to this myth that being a great system QB with huge stats makes you a great overall player. I disagree. Manning and Brady have time and time again PROVEN themselves to be physically incabable of making plays when the system breaks down. They curl up and take a sack or throw the ball away.

Roethlisberger makes plays when Manning or Brady would be sacked or give up on the play. That counts for something.

There is a game that is played between the hash marks that cannot be measured in statistics.
Very well said. This is impossible to explain to most people. It's like when I talked to a guy after the Super Bowl this year who hates the Steelers and the first thing he said was 'Roethlisberger got showed up by Warner.' Statistically... sure. But that's not all that matters.

James Harrison 97 or 98 OVR. Have no clue why Marketing failed to include him in this list to give to ESPN,

Steelers fans can get their panties out of their you know whats now.

Hey donny whats up with LT's carry rating? 87 is a bit low for 1 fumble in 2 seasons.

As much as it pains me to give a Steeler some props(go Titans!), Big Ben can be my QB any day. He is the true definition of a scrambling elusive QB: he buys time to PASS,he moves around to PASS....

Mike Vick, Vince Young, take notes.

whether you disagree with Tom Brady's deep ball accuracy or you think T.O is overrated, the bottom line is ELITE players should be a cut above.I want to see a Madden where there is no way Asomugha is beat in man coverage, where Haynesworth needs to be doubled, where Peyton Manning picks your D apart, where Adrian Peterson is ALL DAY,where you need to know where Harrison is lining up at,where Chris Johnson's speed is noticed....these ratings have meant nothing when Matt Schaub shreds you worse than Manning does. Bottom line is I hope this is the year you see the difference between the 99's and the 70's rated player.

Just be happy he got 94 speed and move on, if we are giving bonus points for being a good player, Jason Witten needs some to. Funny thing is Jason Witten actually has 4.6 timed speed at the combine and gets 75 speed for it. I know he is not the niftiest runner with the ball in his hands, but he sure as heck has blown away lots of safeties down the seam. I doubt 75 speed could beat a LB down the seam in Madden 10.

78/80 should be his speed

Also Heath Miller should be 72/74 Zach Miller 75-77 Antonio Gates 81-83 I don't get the 85 rating, heck if we are basing this on recent performance his bum ankle probably deserves 78-80 speed.

Not true. You dont have to have huge stats but I dont think you can have his stats, lead the league in fumbles and sacks, and be top 5, no way not even top 10 IMO. Pitt averaged 21 ppg, 20th in the league, take away the defensive scores and that probably drops to about 25th,so what did Ben do again? If you ask me, he got a "he's got a ring so that means hes great" card from EA.

Maybe Trent Dilfer is a little harsh but McMahon of the 85 Bears is a good comparison. That team was one of the best but there were many qbs much better than Mcmahon that year.

I actually thought they goofed Romo a bit. I think his deep ball accuracy and awareness should be swapped (okay, maybe the deep ball accuracy shouldn't be that high...lol)

Witten ran a 4.67 forty time.. Deceptively quick

Gates isnt that fast, he is just a awesome route runner and has soft hands. His route running is very unorthodox you cant teach it.

So are you saying that Roethlisberger was a better QB last year when he threw for 65% 7.8 ypa, 3154 yds, 32 TDs and 11 picks in 15 games?

With a bad offensive line, QBs are going to be sacked and that leads to fumbles, especially against great defenses. And as far as points scored... They played the NFC East, the AFC South, and the Ravens twice. Maybe that and the fact that they were down 2 starting running backs, had a bad offensive line, and a lot of WR drops throughout the season had something to do with that.

QBs also have 'off years' but I don't consider that to be the case last season for Roethlisberger. He had 3 bad games last year that make his season look mediocre. You're making it seem like every game he was going out and laying an egg. The other 13 games of the season 16:7 TD:INT ratio. 19:8 including playoffs (16 games).

Every QB has bad games. Manning threw SIX interceptions in game 2 years ago, Brady and basically every other QB has thrown 4. Manning played pretty poorly this past season until he got healthy (10-9 TD:INT ratio through the first 7 weeks).

I'm sure if Ben had thrown 25 TDs it wouldn't be an issue but 17 just isn't flashy enough. The fact is, is that the Steelers all but refused to pass the ball inside the 10 yard line (a philosophy that failed miserably as far as getting TDs) and that's where most TDs passes come from. Ben even had a few long TDs called back from holds (Giants, Browns, and I'm sure there was another one too). I thought after he led the offense the full length of the field to win the Super Bowl that Roethlisberger had proven that he wasn't just 'along for the ride.' What else does he have to do?

T.O. is still one of the Fastest players in the league....hopefully when he proves this again with Buffalo, EA will take notice.

I'm sure Shaun Hill's stats are low.....but I expect EA to improve them as the season goes on.

I also expect Vernon Davis' rating to go up as well......

Damn I can't wait till football season!
T.O. is not as fast as he used to be. No way he ever see's anything close to a 95 again. I would say he should still get 91 speed for right now.

One note: Patrick Willis 88 strength way to high he is 240 Ibs! I can understand Merriman getting mid 80's because he is 270 combined with being a workout warrior.

Someone explain to me how Greg Olsen isn't in the Top 5 Tight Ends? This guy is a beast, and put up good numbers with Kyle Orton!

Are you serious? If you think Turner deserves his 98 rating and dont have a problem with him being 11 points higher then LT then you are being a homer.

Turner deserves a 94-95 rating and LT deserves the 98-99. Followed by Williams with a 96-98 range. Go back a few pages and read my stats on those three backs. Its absolutely silly how the carry rating was given this year.
