This is just so funny. If he came to the 2k board and read all the "positive" reviews and comments and bought the game and it sucked. He would come here and complain and you would say the same thing. He's reading and giving his impressions so others can benefit yet you're the one bashing him for it. What's the point of pointing out his ignorance when you show you have just as much if not more byonly caring about your point of view and completely dismissing what he;s saying as utter BS?

DEMO'S are not the actual game and obviously theres alot of things you can fix with SETTINGS/SLIDERS to balance out the gameplay. My point is that theres to much bashing over a DEMO when its not the actual game. The DEMO is nowhere perfect. I talk to christian from 2ksports on a daily basis and have been for the past year and I already knew what to expect with this DEMO. Again the demo is simply what it is a DEMO.
But this is the DEMO impressions thread. We're supposed to give our impressions based on the demo. If VC decided to release a demo based on a very early, buggy build, why shouldn't we be truthful about it? This is what they gave us and this is what we'll comment on. I find it fun but there are many many lil, and some not so lil, things that need to be fixed...

A question for those who have logged some time with the demo:

When you poorly execute a pitch aimed near the edge of the strike zone, does it result in a ball or a grooved strike (or a mix of both)? In other words, are 'meatballs' truly gone, or simply not a 'feature' anymore? Or to put it yet another way, is it possible to throw a ball while aiming in & around the strike zone? I live on the corners when I pitch and would love to see more of my misses turn into balls so I could actually walk people...

The analog pitching still sucks in my opinion, presentation is very good, other than everyone in the dugout doing the same animations at once, Silly. Hitting is pretty easy. Baserunning stinks. Overall, I am so glad I own a PS3 too, as a baseball gamer, nothing beats the show. Ill have to rent 2k before I buy. Overall, I am dissappointed

on one play i smacked a ball with werth to left field and it looked like it was gonna be a HR (red indicator and all), and then burrell tries to leap up and catch it but he mistimes his jump and the ball bounces off the wall for a double, i thought it was a pretty cool sequence and looked pretty realistic

I've only played the demo twice. In the first game not one called strike but in the second game the CPU took about 5 called strikes. Howard even toook a called third strike on the corner. So there is hope that this could be tweaked even more in the full version.

Yea when ever i miss time my pitch it will go outside more often then not or say if your throwing a breaking ball low it will be in the dirt!

what about the pitching sux exactly? This is my first time playing a 2k baseball game and I find it ok. Not any different than button press pitching, here you hold a stick there you hold a button, sooooooo different. Is it hard for you to get used to it?

lol don't worry if its too easy, u can change the settings to last years pitching that offers more of a challenge

One thing I've noticed is the CPU has a really hard time with balls that bounce off the wall or go near the wall. I've had the ball bounce off the CPU player, the player try to run through the wall for several seconds after the ball has bounced off, and I had a CPU player misplay it then kick the ball away which resulted in an inside the park homerun.

I like the feel of the demo. I got a called strike and a check swing. Hit variety was good. I liked it for a demo.

Your intentions are perfectly clear. You just don't know how to let it go.

Your comments are as bad as the ones you feel should be suppressed. Hopefully the impressions thread will be rid of this nonsense soon enough.

For a person who talks about gamers with agendas, this comment shows that you very well have an agenda yourself.

So what if he said that, so many people come here and just say this game is bad and then say thank god i have the show; and no1 says anything, but when he sheds his opinion saying that he prefers analog pitching rather than the shows controls, everyone is all over him; to me thats not fair

It is not the content, its the approach and tone!

As far as the demo, the wrong time for my Live subscription to run out, doh!

could you explain how a ball could bounce off the top of the wall for a double?

wow, this thread went form impressions to something entirely different. I'm just gonna download this demo and play it and then come up with my own assumptions. The impressions are all over the board, as to be expected.
