Game looks good, sounds encouraging from what I'm reading. Hopefully when the demo comes out Thursday for the black box, it will play just as well. Congrats 360 guys though, you appear to be set this summer. Looks like fun, hopefully VC can revive my favorite series of all, NHL 2K.
I hardly post anything on here anymore but SERIOUSLY guys are you are you kidding me with all this complaining and nik picking??? I mean MLB 2K8 was so horrible that they new the game was horrible and didnt release a DEMO until the game was already out. This year we have got alot of advertisment for MLB 2K9 early,Screenshots etc... Instead of complaining be lucky they even gave us all this info this year. WHat if it was like last year and still we havent seen or heard anything about this title yet?

I was in a two and a half minute rundown with Rollins and I was safe. Seems a bit stupid, it would never hapen in real life. I also noticed that the fielders were controlled a lot by the computer...lame. The game looks great, I just wish we could see some options as far as changing the pitching style back. I hope you have more control over the fielders, it just seemed way to computer controlled.

You have nine posts and all of them are antagonizing someone. What's with THAT?
There definitely are some funky fielding animations going on. I dove for a ball....scooped it up with Iwamura and the guy was on his feet as if he was on a trampoline. It was missing some animations. Not a big deal...but it was there.
I'm sure guys have seen some quirky things....maybe they just didn't post it(I wasn't until you started jumping everyone)......
This is an impression thread...not an impression and ATTACK thread.
What are you filling in for Eddie until his next shift starts?(j/k Eddie

But not every guy posting a negative has an agenda.
Renegade is merely pointing out he's not feeling the fielding.
It's a demo....I'm hoping the animations are cleaned up(good chance they will be!) and some of these things are history.

So far the game sounds mediocre at best. Typical sports game release. Why am I not surprised?
Well I got a chance to play a couple of games. I'm not a huge fan of the hit stick (in fact I hate it) but it seems to me the pitching mechanics is a little more forgiving this year then it was last year and I may toy around with using the default pitching on the retail release.
I really love the light/day progression in this. Anyways I lost my first game (I was Rays) 5-1 and it was a bit of a homer fest and lost the 2nd one (as Phillies) 1-0
Overall I think the game is much improved from last year.

There are some individuals who solely post negatives here on OS. Others only find positives. You take the good with the bad. You begin to learn what user's opinion is worth listening to and others who aren't worth the $.02.
Just ease off on the attacks. That's not what we're about here in the OS forums.

I've yet to play the demo, but I am looking forward to trying it later today/tonight. I've noticed some posts about hitting being too easy. I imagine when the retail releases there will be a pitch speed slider at the very least and that should hopefully make things more difficult.
I'm hoping they kept a lot of the sliders from last year because once you tinkered with strike/ball frequencies not everything was down the pipe and the cpu didn't swing at everything in the zone either. We'll see.

I can remember when 2k7 came out it was a huge pick up from all the problems 2k6 had. Alot was impressed just by the demo but the game played 95% better than the demo did. DEMO'S are not the actual game and obviously theres alot of things you can fix with SETTINGS/SLIDERS to balance out the gameplay. My point is that theres to much bashing over a DEMO when its not the actual game. The DEMO is nowhere perfect. I talk to christian from 2ksports on a daily basis and have been for the past year and I already knew what to expect with this DEMO. Again the demo is simply what it is a DEMO.

It's a demo, some like it, some won't, not much more than that. No reason to go off the deep end about it. Take a deep breath and relax.
My impressions:
The Good
- Gameplay. I love it. Really love it. The swing stick (which I HATED before) feels great and the pitching feels great. Really great. The fielding controls were good but not great. Overall the game felt organic - not scripted. Yippie.
- The animations are great.
- The atmosphere. Very next gen. Announcing, transition scenes, crowd...all good.
- Smooth as silk. No hiccups. No slowdown. No issue.
The Bad
- Graphics. I know this is a matter of taste, but these graphics well "nice" just are not up to par with 2K7. And to me that should be the standard. It's hard for me to put aside the fact that 2 years later the game looks worse - not better. It's MUCH better than 2K8...but still - I just don't like it.
- The fielding controls at time are quirky..in particular how/when you switch to a different player on the field. I also do not like the fielding camera. It's just too far up for me and I feel a little bit removed from the action.
The Ugly
- Player faces. This is part of my gripe with the Graphics. I just don't like em and the faces to me look particularly bad.
- The ivy on the back wall of the stadium...it looks painted on. Bleh!
If I could ignore the graphics whore on the inside - I must say this is a FINE game. 360 only people should breath a sigh of relief. Baseball on the 360 is back.

I also noticed that u when throwing the baseball towards a base u can use the joy stick or the face buttons(very similar to mvp baseball); Too be fair and honest this game is a great improvement from 2k8 ( o yea u still can use the 3 step process of pitching from 2k8 for those who like challenges like myself), I love the demo, and soxfan probably has the best review out of everyone here (but come on man ads as neegative.....who cares lol!). But yea some certain animations and the fielding seem quite flawed
After three games, I haven't seen a homerun yet, so I'm glad it doesn't seem to be the homerun fest that other 2K games have been. Hitting does seem a bit too easy, but we'll be able to adjust the difficulty sliders in the full version, so I'm looking forward to that.
Can someone elaborate on the computer swinging at pitches in the zone so I don't have to go through all the pages?

So far this demo is pretty fun. Hitting variety while not awesome, it's pretty decent. Pitching is too slow , and the cpu does take too many swings at strikes but pitching is well-done.
Animations are hit and miss but also passable. Graphics and real-time are really good.
Everything looks to be good except the gameplay which to me is incomplete because there are no options to fiddle with.
If we can somehow make the cpu hitters behave realistically and user pitching is difficult enough that we will issue walks....I really do think this game will be a winner in all facets this year and will be a stiff challenge to the show in years to come.
Let's hope the final version with sliders will take care of these 2 problems I mentioned....
