Exactly! ! This is all part of it

I really think that this is why a lot of people play FIFA in a certain style, because the player switching issues and poor awareness of AI don't reward creative, imaginative play styles.

You can play amazing through balls and cross field passes (especially on manual) but due to these problems the game doesn't realise which player you are trying to pass to and therefore doesn't switch to that player.

I hope for FIFA16 that player AI,especially defensive AI is the no.1 focus.

Make sure your analog sprint is turned off.

Does analog sprint screw up the sprinting? I use it and I don't have an issue with guys not sprinting when I want them to. I like to use it to have them jog instead of overrun plays.

I noticed something while keeping track during my last couple matches. The pass percentages shown on the game stats screen do not seem to be correct. The screen will display something, but when going to the player ratings screen and counting the pass completed/pass attempted, the percentage should be much higher.

For my last match, it showed that I completed 77%, when it was really 90%. For the cpu, it said 62%, when it was really 73%.

Has anyone noticed this or does it seem correct when you look at your stats?

I ask as I am on the PC, so it crossed my mind that perhaps it is a mod conflict.

Possession stats also seem off as to how they are calculated, but I have nothing to back that up.

You are right. It only happens sometimes though. I have seen it is also affecting the shot count, not only the pass percentages. It usually begins to work well when you return to the main menu and start again. Pass percentages that are on the 50's are way off track if you are an experienced player, undoubtedly the system isn't working. As for the possesion stats, I can't really say because I don't have evidence as you said, but sometimes I do feel like a deserved a higher percentage.

It doesn't necessarily screw it up, it just makes it dependent upon how much pressure you apply to the sprint button and direction.

I do notice that the computer is often caught jogging while I'm sprinting by them.

Thanks, at least I know for sure it is happening.

Just want to express/reiterate consternation regarding the nature of scripting/game-shaping in career mode. In my second season after moving from Hamilton Academical to Wigan, I'm doing all right—that's great, but it's stuff like my match against promoted Bristol City that no matter how many times I restart out of curiosity, they always score after I score on them.

I can play the most cautious, defensive football, change whatever aspect of tactics, formation, etc..., and I still have my defenders trip over one another and concede right after my goal in every restarted iteration. This in itself isn't the true concern.

I then can move on in the next match and face far superior, relegated, Leicester, and breeze through them 3-0. Defending after I score is no big deal. If I make mistakes, they don't come back to bite me. I could sprint around like a flippant idiot and still win. It's like the scripting is hyper-tuned to upsets.

It's just lame after all these years. I am ready for career mode to play like play now matches. Throw me on the field and let the player ratings and user savvy decide the matches.

... and that's why I'm giving Pro Evo a serious look this year.

I don't mind getting beat in games and I get that some times a team is going to play out of their minds. I do have a problem with how the game performs when the teams are going to become unbeatable and there's nothing that can be done.

The fact I can list things that will happen in these circumstances is what makes this type of gameplay unacceptable.

1.) When you score a goal, chances are the team will answer unless your keep makes three supersaves or they just miss the goal.

2.) 45 minute and 90 minute goals are still likely to happen .

3.) Teammates become utterly useless sometimes running away from ball or just standing and watching. The likelihood they run into each other or fall down or both is very high.

4.) A team like Burnley will turn into Barca and they'll be at least two players that morph into messi . You can't take the ball away. Your players also start bouncing off the opponent and become stunned

5.) Any ball you think you taken away takes a bounce right to an opponents feet. More than likely this happens in the box.

6.) Goalkeepers will parry a ball right in front of net and your player will stand and watch as an attacker goes for the ball and puts it in the back of the net.

7.) Your passes become weak and turned over and any dribbling or control of the ball becomes unpredictable

8.) Allowing cpu players to easily defend and gain speed and strength bonus - they'll also run right through your player to obtain the ball.

9.) Changing your player becomes unpredictable - at which point you're doomed with the defenders in front of the ball being brain dead.

The worst part is that there's really no stopping the cpu when they receive the power up. You know it's coming and just cross your fingers they miss the frame. The only hope is that they come back to reality after the score and play like the team they are which sometimes they don't come back to reality and this continues - might as well turn the game off.

My favorite is when you have a clearly wide open teammate, and a clearly covered teammate not far from each other. You very deliberately pass and hold the thumbstick in the direction of the clearly wide open teammate. Because that's the most logical thing to do.

All the while the covered teammate is far enough away, should you have actually wanted to pass to him, you have to hold the thumbstick in an entirely different direction....but alas, the computer takes over and passes the ball to the covered teammate which results in a turnover.

I'm done with this game. I can't do it anymore...and EA for that matter.

Nope. They can't make a real sim. Why? It's simple: They're not capable as most of their devs have little knowledge about football. They just provide a 11vs11 base game, some sliders which they've never test and their panini style card game for the masses. That's it. If you want to play FIFA 15 there is only one way -> PC. Heavily modded.

I'd rather pick FIFA with sliders than think PES will be the answer every year. At least I know there is a chance I'm not at the mercy of the devs on FIFA. In PES, especially the awful PES 14 - you were stuck with what you have...out of the box.

A lot of what has been brought can be addressed, and there are glimmers of hope that it's possible. You guys just have to be more patient with this game. There are 1000 different combinations that can be done with sliders this year. The game has been out for a while now, and I am still working on sliders - that should tell you enough. Keep an open mind, and stay positive - negativity will cloud your judgement, and could in the end hurt your enjoyment for the game.

You're the exception Matt. I don't think everyone has the patience messing with sliders for months. If I had this one on PS4 it would be already on the shelf collecting dust. Fortunately modding and database editing saved this one on PC. I really admire though your persistence and patience to deliver through constant slider edits a playable game for console owners.

It really has been a grind, but someone's gotta do it. I'm glad you provided the PC folk of the options they have.

I think in the past, I would go that route as well, but since I started my youtube channel and the interest peaked on a "sim" mentality - I had to find a way to make the approach more universal. This is why I can't really provide too much on PES except for the PC folks.

Well said Matt10.
Its year after year, no matter its Fifa or PES. People love and get crazy about the game in the first days, then start to forget the good things and only notice the bad ones, until it gets too big to ignore.
I said it before, and I keep my mind about it, I love this game out of the box. Been having a hell of a time playing MM, but I know Iīm on the minority here. I understand part of the criticism but I think itīs starting to make this game look horrible, wich is not.

Same will happen with PES, and quite frankly, this type of negative influence is really bad for players. Important for bug reporting yes, but bad in the long run while we should be enjoying this for what it is.

That seems to be a common problem to solve. Since ever both Fifa and PES still havenīt done a proper player career mode.

Please stop with the immature garbage. You can make your point constructively without resorting to profanity and insults.
