FIFA 15 has found its way into stores, and many of you are no doubt spending big parts of your day playing this year's game. You can check out our initial impressions of the game here.

Is there a way to just stop your player from doing whatever he's doing?
Like, when a ball is clearly going out of bounds, but your guy is "stuck" running after it, you try to turn him away but he's locked on going for the ball, only to get there juuuuust in time to tap it as it's going out of bounds?
It'd be nice if there was a button that would just cancel that run, maybe there is and I've just never known about it. Always frustrating when that happens, though.

Negative. It's the same thing I referred to earlier. This game plays as if your player is "on rails " and it's incredibly frustrating to say the least.
I hate being a total noob but how do you edit players in career mode? The feature is locked everytime i scroll through it in the menus.
The ability to edit a player needs to be unlocked via purchase (using credits you accumulate, not with real money). I cannot remember the exact details, but I do remember buying that ability before being able to edit players.

Super Cancel is supposed to do that (holding both triggers) but I wish the defensive players would automatically go into "shield mode".
As nice as the animation variety is in this game the amount of "contact" animations as it relates to shielding and using your body position is awful. It's so easy to nick the ball off someone and vice versa because the players don't act strong enough or use their body. It's part (a small one tbh) of the reason why the game feels so open at times.

I think you can by pressing R2 and L2 to break out of any of that. I think that's what I do.
My problem is it seems like my cpu ai teammates are doing this as well randomly and just stopping for no reason. And a lot of time I can't start my player doing anything which leads to the opponent rmeasiky intercepting passes that the player I'm controlling is waiting on (although I'm trying to move)
That has become so cliche and not true. It is true that you can get stuck in an animation, but 360 motion is not on rails
I don't know how else to explain it. You're controlling the player, moving in an in a specific direction, usually to play a loose ball, usually in position to gain possession before the defender. Then, unprovoked, your player juts to the opposite direction just before gaining control, and they player you would have and should have beat to the ball actually gets it.
It's comical how this game has been like this for soooo long. And it's the 1 minor detail that has such a major effect on the gameplay that really destroys it.
Certainly a dead horse to beat on the AI vs human tuning in this game, but I want to rant on two aspects that continue to piss me off.
-CPU's ability to dispossess me from behind when I'm protecting the ball/have dominant body position. I can have full control of the ball, and my back to a defender and somehow, without committing a foul, the defender can poke the ball away from me right to one of their players.
-When I commit an unsuccessful tackle, but not a completely missed tackle, and the human player ends up staggered away from the cpu on the ball, and yet when the cpu unsuccessfully commits a tackle, they remain right on me like a sweater to continuously hack away. I am slowed by unsuccessful tackles while the cpu is not slowed by contact in this scenario as well.
I would really love to see the FIFA gameplay and game scaling tuned to be more organic in coming years. Especially in career mode.
As silly as this gameplay variety scaling can get in Madden and NHL at times, it's nowhere near as obvious and off-putting as in FIFA.
^ One that pisses me off to no end that has been in FIFA for years is , if I make a successful sliding challenge the player I have tackled still manages to get to their feet first and retrieve the ball back.

its amazing how the user's experience changes from person to person.
I can honestly say I've never had that happen in fifa or pes. ever. Since 1999 I have never noticed playing on rails or my players jutting out anywhere I don't control them to go.
I remember last year on ps3 I was having a real turd of a time doing certain lay ups and defending the paint in nba 2k14. Turned out my controller wasn't working in the top-right diagonal direction. going left to right I never noticed it in nba, and just thought the controls were 'laggy'.
I put in the show to play some world series and than it occurred to me the controller was cactus.

You've probably just never noticed the "on rails" feeling but it's there. Sometimes for good reason too but there's a reason why "Super Cancel" is in the game.
Have you guys ever played a long-ball into space for your player, but FIFA has decided it doesn't want you to get to the ball so it makes your player jog even though you have the sprint button mashed and he has lots of stamina?
Watching this Arsenal game and it would be great if FIFA 16 would implement the BPL half time stat charts. Showing the attacking areas (left, center, right) and the shot attempts chart would really be nice little additions to each game. The highlights are nice but ill admit I rarely watch them anymore. I'd check to see these stats.

I donīt see many of the complains here but this I see it. I saw it too often when I had slider seettings for both sprint speed and acceleration. Default settings and I donīt see it that much, very rarely actually, but I canīt still see it specially in defense.
Iīm wondering if its not intentional though, maybe something related with morale issues, form or even attack/defense levels of each player. Never had the patience for but we could check the attacking level/commitment for that player in his stats, because now that I think of it, I realise that this wasnīt a random thing, instead it was usually the same players doing it now and then.
