Madden 2010 News Post

Check out the Madden NFL 10 blog, which talks about the preliminary details of the 2nd title update.

Quote:
"In this second title update we focused on some of the more debated topics from our loyal and passionate fan base. We appreciate all the feedback so please keep it coming! In this update you will be happy to hear that we have tuned our Flat Zone assignments to cover the flats more effectively. Defenders will not chuck a WR if another receiver is running a route towards their zone. This will help the defender be in better position to react to a quickly throw flat route and allow him to make a play. The flat zone defenders will also play the ball better if a pass is thrown behind the line of scrimmage as well as taking better pursuit angles after the catch to prevent the ball carrier from being able to get around the corner. This has been one of the top complaints that we have heard about and realized it was definitely something that we needed to address."

The Madden developer team spent no time what so ever on this game. Completely separate team made the game. Ian said that from his twitter a while ago.

That sucks!!!! It really sucks!!
That's quite the assumption you are making there.

Should've had that team fix franchise.

Simply adding people is almost never the solution. Isn't Backbreaker's team like 6 guys with the assistance of other small groups for animation, engine tweaks, etc.? Award winning games like World of Goo can be made by 2 people...it's more important to hire efficient workers that care instead of people that half *** it for a paycheck.

Whoever worked on NBA Unrivaled, and I mean anyone that is credited, certainly falls under that negative category...

Once a patch is within a few weeks of release the game becomes completely unplayable to me as a franchise player, because I know I will just have to restart anyway? I like my franchises to continue on over at least five seasons, so If patches could take effect on existing franchises I would be spending much more time playing Madden, and much less time posting here ...
I got my copy of Madden 10 at the midnight launch in August. Today is November 15th and I still have not started my Franchise. I was in two online franchises but left them because the game is just unplayable to me with the settings we are forced to use in online franchise - no sliders, fight for the fumble is on, can't change tha game speed , and so on.

For now my copy on Madden 10 is sitting dormant and I will wait for the second patch, hopefully it will fix the game enough to make my purchase worth while.

As for Madden 11, I will not be buying it at launch. I'm going to wait it out next year until the game is playable before I even consider buying it.

The complacency that goes on here is mind blowing.
Who said that? Every sports game with a one yr cycle needs patches.

I'm in the same boat, and it's even more frustrating because the Bengals are playing well.

This was my first year back since 07 and it's been a colossal failure for me. I've been playing one game a week since August as part of an online franchise but would have gotten rid of the game long ago if I wasn't commited to the league.

I don't even mess with online franchise it's not my thing

Still no word on the patch other than it's "in M$ and Sony's hands"

This is a complete joke now.

Fail.

I really hope the developers actually play the game and find the bugs before they release it. I'm extremely disappointed. Not worth $60, whatsoever.

I agree I wish I would have saved my money for NBA 2k10.

# 356 barats @ 11/16/09 10:52 PM
Yes this franchise is becoming a joke. We are nearing December and they still have not released a patch that was brought up a long time ago?

This game will definitely not be bought next year until I do extensive reading on here. I trust what this board says because people have the same views about how it should be as I do. Save those little bells and whistles for other people, give me gameplay and good sim features.

This game will lose fans little by little and it will add up over time.

this is ridiculous. MW2 has been out for a week and have already released 3 patches lol. Now i don't know if the rules are different for them somehow but how does that work. Not only have they released more than 2 patches. But they've all come out quickly.

If anyone knows whats the difference between the rules for MW2 and M10 can you please tell me

Are you kidding me? They already released 3 patches?

C'mon now, there's no comparison to the types of fixes Infinity Ward has put out for MW2 and what we are expecting for Madden. The MW2 patches have been small, quick fixes for online connectivity, not completely revamping gameplay like the Madden patch will.

Still, this Madden patch is LONG overdue.

There are anti-trust laws from monopolies forming in the US. How is this not one here? They have a monopoly on NFL games.
