Madden 2010 News Post

Check out the Madden NFL 10 blog, which talks about the preliminary details of the 2nd title update.

Quote:
"In this second title update we focused on some of the more debated topics from our loyal and passionate fan base. We appreciate all the feedback so please keep it coming! In this update you will be happy to hear that we have tuned our Flat Zone assignments to cover the flats more effectively. Defenders will not chuck a WR if another receiver is running a route towards their zone. This will help the defender be in better position to react to a quickly throw flat route and allow him to make a play. The flat zone defenders will also play the ball better if a pass is thrown behind the line of scrimmage as well as taking better pursuit angles after the catch to prevent the ball carrier from being able to get around the corner. This has been one of the top complaints that we have heard about and realized it was definitely something that we needed to address."

Sounds like it could be early next week.

Perhaps if the patch had been prioritised, and the faults fixed, and then released the AFL pack, we might be in a better place at the minute. But I suppose delaying the AFL pack would have meant less of them sold, and a smaller dividend for the EA shareholder.

Don't get me wrong, I think Ian and his team have done a good job this year, and I really think Madden 10 could be a great game, and no game is perfect, but we shouldn't still be waiting 3 months after the game was released.
I happen to agree with you, but I waited on Madden 08 till November to release their second patch and if I did it then, I'll need to do it again.

I will say that I agree with Spank. The patch needs to deliver.

Final wouldn't be that long. That's how long the whole process takes. I'd say we get it early next week. That's a tight window though, because if it misses that, it's a full other week since Thanksgiving is next week. But I still say Monday or Tuesday next week.

My bad, you are right.

It says approvals, not in 3rd party hands.

Early next week would be fairly accurate.

At least OS nation will be able to breathe easier knowing what stage the patch is in.

Why December?, it's in the approval stage. It could be early next week.

Good news. I guess I'll pick up a copy from Blockbuster next week in hopes we see it pre-Thanksgiving.

I also have no clue when it will actually be released...sorry.

All the details about what is in the 2nd title update should be released soon. Folks are working on the list and the blog.

My guess is that after all the heat they took while we were waiting for the patch, they will want to put it out as soon as they can.

I wonder what took so long? Must be a big update (I can dream, right? haha).

I said this in another post. You are always looking for a way to put down EA in a backhanded way. I give you credit, you always do it in a way that does not violate the TOS. I hope this patch makes the game playable for you. That way you can enjoy it, and give EA credit for a good game.

Translation: That way you can enjoy it and STFU.

Or at least that's how I read it.

I'm holding out hope they found a way to find the long lost stadium sounds. That would really add to this game.

I've been enjoying the game a ton because of the online franchise I'm in but now I'm gonna enjoy it even more if the patch is the mammoth patch I'm hoping it's gonna be. I got my fingers crossed for next week (or whenever the earliest time is).

Good luck with that. It'll take a while. On the plus side, you have a major advantage the real Browns don't - you're not Eric Mangini.

... and 3rd party means that it is in internal EA testing.
If it would be in Sony & MS hands he would have said 1st party.

I'm sorry but this means that we won't see the patch until mid december at best.
