VC did a HELL of a job in 1 year!!!

Graphics are better than 2k8, but not as good as 2k7.. BUT OVERALL, the game is smooth and I love the pitching and hitting. I have no doubts that once I get the game and play on the next highest difficulty.. I will be in baseball gaming heaven.

I don't care about the goofy stuff.. I just want to have fun and with this demo, I'm having fun.

I actually thought NBA 2K9 looked essentially the same on both, but seeing as how this is VC's first attempt at baseball on both, I could definitely see the scenerio playing out with the 360 version looking better.

Guess we'll find out Thursday, haha.

I wonder how this thread will hold up if the PS3 version sucks... yikes.
It's a 360 port so I think most are aware that the ps3 version will be weaker of the two...

I know it's only a demo and I hate to break up the party but this game is SOOOOOOO BORRINGGGG! (for the record , I thought The Show was pretty boring last year too).

Maybe it's me, but I can't just get into it. What would 9 innings do to me in the full retail version when I'm getting bored with 3 innings. Got to say the presentation is excellent, and 2k did a great job this year in all it's sports games w/ presentation , especially NBA2K9.

Maybe I'll pick it up when it' goes down to $19.99 later in the summer.

Only thing that kinda bothers me is that I can't skip all the presentation features when I'm in a hurry, or tell the pitcher to move his *** and show me where he wants the pitch already, I wanna throw the ball! So that makes it a bit boring. It only bothers me a bit when in a rush...

ITs pretty rough especially when you got a baseloaded game on your hands I wish they would have just kept the same controls as last year
No. Take-out slides and hook slides are 2 different things.

if you have a good 1080p tv with a good tv upscaler then you can just set the console to 720p which is the native resolution for the game and the tv will upscale for you...

the ps3 dont put 1080p because they dont have the upscaler..if they put 1080p in the back of the box is because they can support that resolution but most likely framerate will drop like the show 09

eventhough the framerate in the show on 1080p is much better then last year they are not silky smooth 60fps like 720p..no matter what they tell you

the graphics take a huge step up in sharpness but you lose the depth of the graphics like white lines not breaking and silky 60fps

the 360 can put the console at 720p or 1080p and you wont see the changes in resolution that you see if you do it on the ps3

that is why the 360 can advertise 1080p but in reality is just bluff...

madden is nantive 720p and when i play it on 360 with 720p the color of the grass is much nicer then when i play it on 1080p

the ps3 dont allow madden at 1080p because they made the game for 720p and forcing 1080p will just downgrade to 480p

720p is the best setting.....
Thanks for the post. I have all this in my head, but could not put it down like you just did. I have been arguing for years with internet worms about this.

What you said is concrete fact. The back of the box on Sony games will advertise what resolutions it will do native. MSFT on the other hand, puts it on every box, cause it can upscale. And they are in essence BSing. Or should at least asterisk it with "up-scaled".

Because as a PC gamer, when you say what it is, we are used to it being what it really is. Not "up-scaling".

This, going by 2k's track record, should have a fantastic online setup and thus allow for some decent online baseball on the 360.

I would say this game is going to look very disappointing on the PS3.
oh how i hope you are wrong, being that i don't own a 360 anymore and ps3 is my console i would be sad if 2k dissapoints on the ps3 again i miss 2k baseball, i do like the show but i need something different also

oh wow i dont think i ever want to see a walk off hit ever again in this game seriously. Ryan Howard gets a walk off hit then it just shows him walking back to the dugout liek he just got out and while he was walking his head was flopping left and right....HOW EXCITING

quick question, why do you keep playing this demo? after reading your posts(all of them) they are on the negative side, you obviously don't like the game so why keep bothering with it, i understand impressions but you have become almost on the trolling side with what you state, do you have anything good to say about the game?

so like i said you have like 40 negative posts about this game in a row, why keep playing it, i like to hear the bad impressions as much as the good so i know what i am getting myself into but it just seems you don't like the game at all, when i play a demo of a game if i don't like it after the first try i delete it and move on to a game i like, just doesn't make sense to me you keep playing something you don't like.that's all i am saying

I have to say that I'm impressed. FYI, the last baseball game I played was MLB 2k5...not counting the demos from the past couple of years of this series.

I really enjoy the pitching. I really like how they utilize the right stick on offense and for pitching. It feels great and seems to be pretty damn fluid.

I just had a dandy of a game, winning 8-7 as the Rays. I did hit a couple home runs (Burrell crushed one to left-center) but I did see a good variety of hits. The only things I didn't see was, when I was hitting, seeing balls get through the infield. Then again, I bet that had something to do with the left stick. I would either push it up or not use it at all.

The presentation was fantastic, I can only imagine how good it will be when highlights are added in. The real-time gaming was superb and made the game seem very real, I like how the game cuts out after each half-inning and then comes back. Great sense of realism there.

I will say that the defensive controls felt a bit clunky. Having to press "A" to switch players is a bit of a hassle and doesn't help to create fluid gameplay. But I guess when I think about it, how else would I want them to do it? When it changed automatically, I sometimes get confused and start running in the wrong direction with my player because I thought I was going to be controlling someone else.

I'm happy enough with the gameplay, that was presented in the demo, I just hope they delivered with the franchise. As that's all I'll pretty much be playing anyways.

Random question, is Fantasy Draft in?

I assume there is an option to hit and pitch with button controls, the old-fashioned way, because I'm not a fan of the stick.

according to the developers, it will be an option in the full retail version, well at least classic hitting, not sure about pitching

By the way, I don't play online so I only have a silver account. But if you create a new silver account, you get a trial gold membership. That's how I was able to download the demo. I love sticking it to the man.
