Another next-gen Madden NFL 25 video has arrived, showing nothing but zoomed in footage from a simulation of tonight's match-up between the Indianapolis Colts vs. San Diego Chargers.
Mea culpa, i don't play NCAA games, so i stand corrected. Actually, now i remember playing a college basketball game from ea that had espn AND CBS presentation. So yeah, i was wrong. Point still stands about MADDEN and FIFA, though. They are using it now for live, so there's hope.
That's not a good comparison, once the player leaves he is no longer representing my team, which is different from this situation. Madden NFL is supposed to represent, you know, THE NFL.
Lol, yea, I know it was a bad comparison but it was the best I could come up with
Ew. Again, this looks not great. Trent Richardson running looks hilarious. He's almost doing the goose step, and that's definitely not a showboat thing because there are defenders right there. And if that is the AI showboating, then that's just a great example of awful AI. I saw a catch animation where the ball was still caught with an inch or two of air between the hand. Like somebody else said, it just looks robotic.

I hope they use it in Madden. A MNF package and/or weekly wrapup show would be awesome!
I'm not giving up. There is something weird going on between EA and ESPN. No way will the game look and animate that badly. I'm sure M25 next gen will have plenty shortcomings but I don't think the ESPN vids will be what we see next month.
Because it affects how much EA is willing to pay for the exclusive rights again. You know the NFL wants way more money this time around. And im no financial guru but the outlook on Madden profitability can't be good. Is EA willing to risk the company over Madden, I doubt it.
Still doesn't benefit the NFL.
They either get the money from EA or they don't get it at all. Madden's sales are irrelevant.
People are acting like the NFL gets their money based on Madden sales. That's simply not the case, EA pays the NFL a set amount, it doesn't matter how much the game sales. This goes back to the NFL not giving a damn how poorly perceived the game is with the fans and media. As long as they approve the game and get their money, they do not care. People need to get this idea out of there heads.

Madden is still the golden goose. Sold 1M copies in one week. How much do you think EA spends yearly on the game? Still very profitable game

Exactly, and as long as the game is a reasonable approximation of the game on TV, which undoubtedly the NFL thinks so.. They don't care
Sorry to burst your bubble but 2k Hoops is garbage too...Imagine playing Madden and all your opponent ever did was throw long bombs every play and it was effective...Thats the equivalent to what is going on online in 2k hoops...players reigning threes like they are layups and your players somehow can't rebound the ball...It gets kicked back out for what?...you got it...3 after 3 after 3 after 3...So leave 2k hoops out of this because the game is terrible online from gameplay to servers.
But this isn't a discussion about online gameplay. Every game can be exploited when you play HUM Vs. HUM. This Madden discussion we're having has nothing to do with playing online.

Yeah I was more of a 2k guy, it hurt that Madden became the only game in town, but I never was against giving EA a chance.........Only after year after year of letdowns do I not want to give EA the benefit of the doubt on anything.
At this point Im beyond being po'd, Now Im just depressed.
Gameplay wise the only thing left that Im looking/hoping to see some glimmer of hope in is in the OL/DL....because they said they added an animation influx to those like they did with the catching animations in 13.
If that fails to impress, then thats a wrap and there is legitimate reason to question if this gen will be another repeat
I'm just glad that pretty much everyone is on the same page with how mediocre Madden is and hopefully this leads to some changes.
The only way I can see changes coming is if EA gets some new suits at the top of the ladder. They got some good guys working on this game at Tiburon (Kolbe from the MLB: The Show team being one) But I honestly believe they're creativity is being hampered.
Honestly, we'll see what we get next year with Madden 15, that's when i'll really start to judge this generation of Madden, because right now this is just laughable.
Up to this point, huge disappointment, what has been offered up so far. The videos have been very underwhelming to say the least.
I'm hanging on a thread, and it's a slim thread, that TruStep, AI and Livingworld, which we haven't seen, yet, will somehow save this fast sinking ship.
What the heck happened to those webcast that would show the upcoming technology? I did enjoy those even if some of the implementations didn't work out.lol. The heck is marketing doing? Very little, in my eyes.
