wrong..i strongly disagree..both presentation and gameplay are equally important...problem is, madden never had presentation, period... and guess what..now it does

Hell i just played a game of NCAA online..and after playing the demo of madden for a good two hours..i felt like i was playing a game of dead football with NCAA..presentation makes a HUGE difference and it clearly shows..i understand its not for everyone..but the majority would much rather have it...then nothing at all

And who ever said they have already seen all the cut scenes..thats a damn lie..wanna know why? Because ian said there are over a 100 different cutscenes and variations..i dont think the demo has it all, infact i bet my last dollar on it..its not rocket science to understand that a demo is missing things

I don't know man I don't get hung up on alot of the things people here get hung up on, so I can only speak for myself. I enjoy NCAA 10 but this demo is much better than NCAA's retail imo. The only thing I might have to do is play with up the game speed. Other than that I;m loving the gameplay. Still have some presentation issues but this demo is way better than 09 already.

Really? You don't like the speed?

I honestly like it becuase it creates an all new feel. The game feels less like a football video game and more like football. But yeah.. everything is cool since there's a slider. Also online is set to be 5% faster than offline games probably so that the slower gameplay won't become too slow due to lag.

I couldn't kick a PAT... I got 3 delay of game calls in a row and just went for two... meter wouldn't start for me. lol

Yea for real, allows me to see the holes better and can watch my receivers progress down field easier.

I just played a couple games with 1 minute quarters. Impressions, in no particular order:

1 minute quarters is absurd. Hardly enough time to experience a drive. I understand not wanting people to be satisfied with the demo so they buy the full game, but you also have to give em enough time to get hooked.

Romo dropped back in the snow, then slipped and regained his balance. Not overdone, feels realistic. Nice!

The Giants pass rush is absurd in the demo. Playing as the giants, the cowboys got 4 downs. two were almost instant sacks, and one was a punt. Playing as the cowboys, I was instantly sacked on shotgun plays -- they were running into the backfield when the ball was still in mid-air, without even being touched. Hopefully whatever tweaking they did between demo and gold will have fixed that.

Any rating system that shows Eli Manning and Tony Romo as equal caliber is broken.

The slower game speed makes running the ball feel less like random chance. You can actually see the play develop as you run. It affects passing less than I thought. You've got a bit more time to make a decision but your receivers' routes are developing slower too.

When somebody fake-hikes and the camera pulls back, the snow reacts. In fact, it reacts like the camera actually moved rather than a stationary camera zooming out. You know if you're driving in the snow and the snow is headed AT you, then you stop and it's falling straight down? That. Not important, just something weird I noticed.

The close-up chase cam is still in the game. It still annoys me a tiny bit.

The helmets look pristine, which doesn't bother me, but it seemed weird with all the snow.

The snow sticks to the lens in the cutscenes. But sometimes it looks really weird, like a poorly stretched texture or something. Or maybe they were trying to make it look snowflakey or something. I don't know. It caught my eye a few times though.

I managed to throw three interceptions. All three deserved to be intercepted.

In only three total kickoff returns, I managed to return one 85 yards or so completely untouched, down to the 6 yard line where I was tackled (on all pro). In Madden 09, I don't think I ever scored on a kickoff. I hope they didn't over correct.

The gameplay feels much better than 09 to me, though it's hard to tell a whole lot with such a crippled demo.

If you click 'A' or something, it pops up instructions. You have to click 'B' or 'X' or something to make the instructions disappear. THEN you can do the up/down thing with the stick to kick.

Yep. I really appreciate what the speed does for the running game.

This below is coming from a guy that did NOT like any of the next gen football offerings..I REPEAT..the comments below are from a guy that has not liked any of the next gen offerings..hasnt bought madden since 05..now you see that even the ones (the sincere gamers) that have been turned off from madden and rightfully so..are finally seeing a "true" improvement with Madden10. Now keep in mind..we will still have our trolls that come around to bash the game for no reason..thats a given so be prepaired for an onslaught of haters throughout the day today...

This post below is ACE and is exactly how i feel

The first thing I immediately notice in gameplay is the game speed. I'm not for sure how Maddenites feel about the slower gameplay, but I'm absolutely loving it! You can find and hit holes in the run game and I actually feel like I am in control. Catching (amazing over the shoulder grabs WHILE tracking the ball) as well as passing seem sooo much more realistic in comparison, unlike NCAA where I always feel pressured or rushed to make plays. It just feels like Madden allows you to play football and not a game within the game, if that makes sense.

I think the graphics go without say. The level of presentation upgrade from NCAA is just, just, I can't even explain it. The different cut scenes, the animations, the crowd, you name it, is on a whole 'nother level. When I had Chris Wells get injured in the first quarter, you could see him grimacing and it was so detailed in how he interacted with the trainers when they came out to check him. I see Roethlisberger on the phone after a scoring drive; teams heading into the tunnel at the half (although they were majorly covered up by the halftime overlay); Warner on the phone just after the half in preparation for the opening drive; fly overs; team entrances with tunnel inflatables and smoke -- the whole nine....just great! Although, I do wonder if the entrances are just for the Superbowl, or if those will be included in regular season games too. Finally, there was no commentary, but I'll chalk that up to being a demo build.

I've read through all the pages in this thread and no one has mentioned the subs. That could be because this was a feature in previous versions of the game, but coming from NCAA (absolutely no formation subs) this is amazing to me! While on defense I notice that Pago Togafau is turning yellow as all get out. I hit the RB to go to subs, select him in the formation screen and can immediately choose another player to give him a breather!! Again, sorry if that was in previous versions but to a NCAA gamer this is HUGE.

Now if you're a hardcore Madden player then you may or may not be blown away at first glance, but as someone who has primarily played the NCAA series, I'm astounded. With that, there may be some gameplay issues still in existence; suction blocking, rocket catch, to name a few which I've read in here, but I'll leave that to the hardcore folks because I'm just not that well versed in the series to be able to pick that stuff out.

All in all, after playing the demo I must say that I'm glad Gamestop gave me that $40 trade in promo card when purchasing NCAA, because the Madden team (Ian and company) just might have got back another fan of the series.

when you complain about these graphics...then is time to retire from madden
My opinion is that All Madden is cheap. And I'll stick to it. The graphics are ok.. But not next-gen.

No sign of this in Europe yet. Does anyone know when the demo is out over here for Gold Subscribers? Tried looking everywhere but can't find anything, only says it's out on PSN and for Silver subscribers on the 30th.
