I'm not sure if they are supposed to talk over the highlights, but 4 demo games and nothing yet for me. I would love to see this kind of stuff in the game though. Authentic to me is gameplay and presentation coming together as a complete package to give me that NFL experience I haven't had since the 2K series and in no way were they perfect either so like I said it's not a put down, just an example.

Thank you for taking the time to recognize my posts and concerns. It's appreciated you guys are in the trenches today hearing us.

NFL2K5 presentation pre, half, post game style even on "play now" games would be the best thing I could ask for.
I played All-Pro 2k8 for the first time ever earlier today, and I can see what all the "hoopla" is about. It's a genuinely fun game based on gameplay, and the commentary isn't bad either. The graphics are just a tad bit dated. Hopefully for the sake of the betterment of madden they will acquire a joint NFL license really soon.

This is actually my first madden game in a while, so I have to catch up. But I've notice the game plays better on slow or very slow game speed.

agree that the audio is one of the best parts of this game in terms of upgrades. really enjoying the crowd noise and commentary.

They also should talk about the Playoff picture and mvp races as you get late into your season.
I'd like them to do something similar to NHL - tell me what each team was doing well and more specifically what they could do better. On top of that, tell me how to do that better... more Man coverage, double team player X, etc. The half-time show I saw was not impressive but the lack of real gameplay highlights might just be because it's the demo, I have no idea.

This is very true...we all want a perfect football game but everyones opinion of perfect is different.

Personally, my biggest thing is on the field action, presentation and commentary is fine and dandy but I want it to look and play like a football game. That starts with fixing the running and way players move and interact with each. I am excited that they are finally going to focus on OL/DL interaction and address the running on skates issue thats been inherent in Madden since day 1. If they fix these two things and leave everything as is with a few tweaks here and there I will be satisfied.

Of course the infinity engine is going to have some glitches, some rag dolling but real physics is a great start. I played backbreaker which was a horrible game but when you ran the ball when the physics kicked in the way it was supposed it was a thing of beauty. The contact and fight for the extra yard was very realistic but those moments were too far and between so lets hope that infinity has more of the perfect moments instead of the silly.

Holy crap. First thing I noticed soon as I started, this game is SO smooth compared to previous years.

The infinity engine just makes this game so much better.

Only have time to play a quater but those are the first things I noticed. Will get better impressions later.

Just had Eli drop back from midfield attempt to throw the ball and it shot into the air like a rocket offscreen going backwards until it reach my endzone and I got awarded a safety.

had first challenge by cpu. got a td to moss, most amazing catch ive seen in a madden game, just beautiful two feet right by the pylon, no stupid old animation, all new, just incredible...and they lost the challenge. was juuust a catch, so im glad to see its at least working.

I was impressed with the demo. I think that the IE does a good job of simulating momentum and contact most of the time. Think NCAA has better running animations though based on the two demos(Madden and NCAA really need to borrow 2k's juke stick controls as I feel that performing some of the moves in 13 are a little cumbersome). I also think the player graphics took a small hit from Madden 12 imo. It still looks good imo but the players look a little fuzzy/unsmooth during gameplay. Hoping for some customizable camera options in the final copy. Solid effort but not mind blowing. Good job EA. May buy on opening day. Hope it has a coach mode and coach mode camera angle similar to NCAA 12.

They have really overdone it with the shadows. The more I play the more it annoys me. Hopefully they will turn it down with an update.

Has anyone seen any penalties called so far? I have yet to see any. It must be those replacement refs :-)

well first impression so far is that its just like last years madden except with the "infinity" engine that kinda chains along tackle elements. Oh and the motion blur which almost induces an epileptic seizure lol.

So I have to say I'm a little disappointed. My disappointment stems from the fact that the game (to me) feels the same as last year. I was expecting the Infinity engine to change the way the game feels during gameplay, but unfortunately it doesn't. Sure the animations are improved and the tackling looks more dynamic, but all in all the game doesn't look that different to me.

Furthermore, the running animations just look so stiff. I know this has been said many times, but the open field animations just need to be redone. I'm really on the fence on this one, I'm not sure I will be spending the cash on Madden this year.

Changing the game speed is nothing but a simple flip of the switch and I understand it's not difficult at all. But to a degree, it's disappointing that the game speed even has to be changed to a more sim setting. Like I've said previously, they had the 'normal' game speed about right back in June.

The fact that the 'normal' setting was apparently sped up lends itself to people continuing to debate whether Madden is intended to be a simulation or an arcade game. Personally, I feel Madden is on the road towards becoming a simulation, but it's hard to defend that notion when the 'normal' setting lends itself to a more arcade/fun feel.

------------

Probably sounds like I'm sour grapes on M13 and that's not the case. I know it's a game I'll play substantially and one that I'll enjoy. I just want to see some additional I's dotted and some T's crossed.

100% agreed.

I missed sacking Eli just now, but hit his arm when he was in the throwing motion and he threw a complete duck to no one about 10 yards short of the receiver. Awesome.
