EA SPORTS UEFA EURO 2012 DIGITAL EXPANSION PACK TO FIFA 12 AVAILABLE TODAY FOR DOWNLOAD

Fans To Determine Real-World Matches And Story Lines Replayed In-Game

April 24, 2012 – Electronic Arts Inc. announced today that EA SPORTS ™ UEFA EURO 2012 ™ is available in North America and Europe as a paid digital expansion pack to fans who own EA SPORTS FIFA 12 on the PlayStation®3 computer entertainment system, Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system, or PC.

The only officially licensed videogame of the 2012 European Football Championship which begins June 8 in Poland and Ukraine, EA SPORTS UEFA EURO 2012 recreates all the drama and excitement of one of the largest and most-watched sporting events on the planet. Fans will be able to compete for national pride and glory as their favourite European country in the UEFA EURO 2012 tournament against rival nations in the group stage, progress through the sudden victory knockout rounds, and ultimately compete for the chance to be crowned UEFA EURO 2012 champion.

Today EA SPORTS unveiled plans to determine the best players in the world playing UEFA EURO 2012 on the PlayStation®3 and Xbox 360®. The two best players on each console will be determined through a series of online qualifiers. Those players will meet in the championship final on the pitch at Olympic Stadium in Kiev, Ukraine, hours before their heroes step onto the same pitch to compete for the UEFA EURO 2012 championship. Competition details are available at www.ea.com/intl/football/1/euro12-tournament.

EA SPORTS and Coca-Cola Zero™ are teaming up to deliver an online service that will drive real-life story lines from the UEFA EURO 2012 qualifying campaign and during the tournament into the game, enabling fans to relive dramatic moments with challenges based on real-life matches. Fans are able to submit matches and vote on the ones they want to replay by visiting the EA SPORTS football community at http://www.facebook.com/easportsfifa. Challenges that receive the most votes will be pushed into the game weekly between April 27 and July 5, 2012. Challenges will enable fans to earn experience points and level up their EA SPORTS Football Club profile.

UEFA EURO 2012 also features a new mode called Expedition that enables fans to build, manage and compete with a customised team against other European nations, crafting the perfect strategy for European domination. Fans will choose their favourite European player or FIFA 12 Virtual Pro to captain their customised team, win matches to earn better players from defeated nations, and then defeat the best nations to earn the best players in a campaign quest to defeat all 53 countries and complete the journey to conquer Europe.

UEFA EURO 2012 is developed by EA Canada in Burnaby, B.C. The manufacturer suggested retail price is £15.99, 1800 MS Points and 2,500 FIFA Points on PC. UEFA EURO 2012 is rated “E” for Everyone and PEGI 3.

so withother words thats the kind of game that the competitions actually diserves.
LOL.... WHAT?!?

Netherlands, Belgium and Portugal were a step backwards? Are you reading what you just wrote?

For one, the Euro held in Portugal was rated as one of the top in history due to infrastructure created, all-new stadiums, ticket sales, etc.

England's was one of the worst ever voted tournaments as have been tourney's held in Italy because essentially outside of the San Siro, the stadiums are Olympic stadiums.

Ahhhh, the things people say.

I could not agree more. The Austria/Switzerland Euro was one of the most entertaining tournaments that I can remember (The first Euro I can remember is 2000 and the first WC I can remember is 1998).

I wish there was qualifying, but I get why they didn't include it now (unlicensed squads).

I have enjoyed FIFA12 for months and this DLC just adds to the experience for me.
I have a season ticket but it doesnt allow me to get the discount?

Are you buying it in-game or just going to the Xbox Live store?
If you do it in-game it should show the discounted 1440 price or whatever it is.

ahh? you got an idea whats the average attendance in most of those new stadiums in portugal is? besides the big 3 of course? i guess you dont.. and wtf ticket sales? stadiums during the euro are always sold out no matter where it is and who is playing

same goes for poland, average attendance in those newly build stadiums is around 15000 and less while they are for over 40.000 spectators and this will rather get worse before its getting better.

i didnt talk abt the quality of football obviously.

to austria and switzerland, im not sure if you have been in any of those countries while the tournament was held, i guess then you would have an idea what i mean...

italy will definetely not have stadiums with running tracks when they host the next big tournament so much is for sure.

oh man...

Having played for most of the afternoon, I am convinced that they have done SOMETHING to the match engine.

I don't know what, but there are several things in terms of animations and ball physics that I haven't seen before. Even though they say they haven't touched the engine, they may have snook a small patch in there somewhere.

There are several bugs though which need to be addressed. Even though I am enjoying this DLC overall, we need to be able to use multiple teams in the tournament mode, and these issues need to be fixed.

Apart from that though it's pretty good

I have been to the the 1994, 1998 and 2006 World Cups.
I have been to the 2004 and 2008 Euros.

Yes, I have a little bit of an idea what I am talking about.

I definitely do have an idea what the stadiums outside of the 'big three' hold. But apparently when we add up averages we avoid larger stadia in order to prove a point I guess....

The highest amount of tourism attributed to Soccer tourneys, at least in Europe, has been in Portugal... find the necessary information, then come back with the statistics. Please

I bought this game to play tournaments online, yet I can never connect to someone because so few people play (PC).

Also, they really need to fix the issue with adjusting your reserves before the match. No matter how you configure it, the reserves are set to the default setting and you will only be able to select the four of five players listed by default (Online mode).

As a hardcore soccer fan and loyal a customer, I am actually shocked that they would realease such a subpar DLC. No Qualifying? No Captain your country? What am i supposed to do after I win the tourney once? Oh I could play expedition mode 159 times lol

Just shocking. I was a big fan of Euro 2008 and WC 2010 as full games, and this will be a blemish on their tourney releases for sure. Sad excuse for a facelift to Fifa 12. I am passing. Thankfully they had a trial. Besides banners, adboards and overlays, it will get stale fast, with lack of gameplay modes.

# 51 Maxflier @ 04/26/12 09:33 AM
I hope they stick to full releases for the future World Cup games and don't start skimping out on those too.

# 52 ROABS @ 04/26/12 10:31 AM
im glad they had a trial version. i wont be bothering with purchasing the full version.

i doubt that answering is even useful but ill do it anyways...
im talking abt the use and attentance of the grounds after the tournament is over and that is increadibly bad in portugal and itll be worse in poland and ukraine.. not abt how much they hold or some bull****.

but i wouldnt be surprised if noobs like you dont even know that there is smth like a league besides the big tournaments..

and then you mention some crap abt the football tourism and tell me to back up with statistics? where is the one then you are backing up your statement with then?? and besides that there has only been 4 euros with 16 teams and obviously what are the countries that portugal has to compete with for that matter?? tiny belgium/netherlands and even tinier switzerland and austria plus rainy england way back in 1996. give me a break

i just downloaded the trial and played 2 times as spain... in the 2nd game Iker was sent off after a penalty! I've never seen a keeper commit a penalty and much less a red card in many many games of fifa '12 so I don't know if it's something new (doubt it) but first time I see such a thing!

# 55 Tomba @ 04/27/12 06:07 AM
I like the fact that the adboards can be used in every stadium. I wish the main game did this in some way.

Gameplay DOES feel different. My slider set for fifa 12 doesnt feel as good as the default one anymore

Hate the fact that the two hosting teams of euro 12 are not licensed that is beyond me.I am at a loss for that one. THAT is a travesty.

Other than that? I got it with the ea season ticket so it was much less. I like that finally downloaded stuff that was a discount using it.

Camera angle seems very nice to.

Overall its really a adboard thing wish we could used any team/club in the euro 2012 part too but guess not.

Happened to me in FIFA 12 within the first couple weeks of playing. Haven't seen it since though so it is very rare.

Well guys there is a saying in the retail world. "You get what you pay for". I think for $20 it's not a bad value. Now if this was $59.99 then I can see what you all are saying but its only $20. Maybe next time will release a full retail version with everything. Just my opinion.

I'd much rather have a full game in which all teams are licensed and you can play through the qualifiers (+ more gameplay changes).

World Cup 2010 was a lot of fun!

Its a disappointment that they didnt include the qualifiers. Looks like I wont be getting this. Still got WC 10 though.

# 60 csh1229 @ 04/29/12 02:30 AM
I purchased the add-on but for some reason, I can only play the trial version. WHen I get to the FIFA 12 Store, it says UEFA EURO 2012 Trial installed, but UEFA EUROE 2012 "Owned"....
Can anyone tell me how to install the full version?
