I *think* this is better than pre-patch, but I still see possessions here and there where the CPU just freezes and then launches one from 3 feet beyond the arc. Given how much the CPU is likely to cheeze me at the end of the game, I tend to take it as a gift.
Yep.
Pretty much agreed.
Though the patch made this game slightly better, it's still annoying as hell.
You CANNOT defend these damn layups, even when you try to defend, you get a foul called on you.
Thanks, Going to give it a go in a few, how up to date are the new rosters? I would have to sign up for Gold for a month just to get them, or should I wait?
As I stated prior to the patch's release, I didn't think they could fix the multitude of problems 2k12 has. I agree with the comment someone made about fundamentals. If you don't have basketball foundation, you don't have basketball, plain and simple. I would like an explanation from 2k as to why the gameplay has taken steps backward. The short time to work on the next installment is irrelevant when you already have certain fundamentals established (passing, rebounding). I promise I won't be in line Oct 2012 on release night. As a matter of fact, I will rent 2k's and EA's basketball games 1st and then go from there.
I played 3 games last night with the patch (Pro/Sim), and I can honestly say I had a much better time. The CPU definitely doesn't sit on the ball as much wasting the clock, and I felt like they just flat out weren't making so many BS shots, especially when I had the lead. Passing is much easier now, and getting the ball inside isn't frustrating any more. I can't think of one occasion in 3 full 48 minute games where I felt screwed over on a post entry pass. The only ones I turned over were the ones I gambled on (over the top, etc.).
I would still LOVE to see the speed issue addressed, but I can live with this patch if it's all we're getting. I still have control issues from time to time, mainly on hop-steps and post shots. I know the hop-step Y button was easy to exploit in the past, but I guess I just haven't gotten used to doing it the new way. It's much less effective also, when I do pull it off. I also have a hard time with my hook shots down low sometimes. It drives me nuts when I want to turn baseline for the hook and instead the guy puts up some crap animation directly into the contact, which is pretty much a guaranteed brick. I play on the Broadcast camera, which may be my problem with the directional controls, but I just hate the 2k cam too much to switch back now.

no you dont need gold, someone can upload them to a filehosting site and you can download from there and put it on your HDD/storage device

Been updating everyday, CP3 on the clippers and all that.
Im on xbox 360 and I havent received the big patch. Whats up? Isnt it supposed to be 43 mb? I have not gotten that one. Please tell me im not the only one
OK guys...how about this. I start a new my player right, and I'm playing the game and I'm waitin' to c how smooth the offense runs w/ my teammates. Man my teammates still are as dumb as rocks in a lot of occasions. Plays I run where my teammate needs to pass it, he does not pass. Plays that set screens for him, he is more than willing to do all of these weird nba street moves and take it to the hoop but of course come up short lol. And I've played on a team with kyle lowry during the post patch and now I play for him on the rockets and he still does stupid stuff like dribble all around knowing that the paint is completely held down. And sometimes when the paint isn't open he'll run back to the three point line and cast up a stupid shot...and oh yea don't even get me started on the time management by the cpu. In some instances where we have to get a shot off to beat the shot clock my teammate will stand in one spot for like 5 seconds and then when there is like 2 seconds left on the shot clock he will cast up a shot after his easily predicted pump fake. Man when I play 2k I don't even get mad anymore...I just laugh and think about what some of the thoughts are that run through the video game developers heads. I'll cut em some slack though because obviously making these games must be *extremely* hard....I sure hope so :-))
chalmers starts to raise his arms the exact moment I press the pass button. I don't think you can react that fast. at least not humans. also, how does jab fake shot ball fake before passing guarantee a successful pass? I know I can do those moves but what if chalmers has the same "reflex" after the move?
I want to pass to Hibbert - what can I do in this situation? press the pass button - and this happens. so does this mean that I have to Jab / Pass fake etc before the pass? is this is a rule? how am i going to know when to do what to make this pass ? you say this happens "all the time" in real life - does this mean that it happens more than the opposite of this case which is completion of this what's supposed to be an easy pass ?
the point was to show that post passing is not completely fixed. actually it's probably not the passing it is the defensive awareness.
good ball physics? I am talking about human anatomy.
It was your spacing at fault. If you're at the 3-point line, it would have been successful. Spacing kills me most of the time. As 2k12 doesn't use bounce passes, we have to be aware of spacing at all times.....
I tried last night. Do I need to go into the Online interface for the rosters?
The roster downloads automatically. It isn't like Madden where you need a Gold acct and have to go online to download the newest roster. If you want to keep a roster as-is you'd have to save it locally as a differently named roster file. Guess since they're doing so many updates it doesn't make sense to make each one available on 2KShare
Thats is exaggerated a lil bit. Games speed is definitly faster but not to the point to where you cant guard anyone.
Pretty much this. Online isn't as sloppy as it once was pre patch, you can actually defend now, and if you put a hand up, the shot isn't going in 85% of the time, unlike it did pre patch.
People who reach tend to get a reaching foul called on them. Even IF they get reaching fouls, they keep reaching, like their life depends on it.
