Online the patch has affected the game...I still can't put my finger on it...I love and hate it but at te same time I can't stop playing the game
I already feel that way pre-patch on PS3 (love/hate/can't stop) in terms of online so I guess I have nothing to worry about.
I'm interested to get the patch, seems like a ton of people are saying it's horrible but there are a few posters (who aren't regular posters here) who say the game improved, the fouls are good, etc. I'm anxious to see how the game plays for me.
Can I just say, I see a lot of people using downloaded sliders around here. I'm not saying this is bad or saying anyones slider set up is bad.. but I think it would help a lot if people only posted complaints and observations about the gameplay based on the default sliders.. otherwise things could get really messed up (and maybe have been already).
I've played with the default sliders all along, and apart from from the lack of fouls (which I think was fixed by just maxing the global foul slider) I think the game plays really solid in its pre patch form.

I think I constitute as a vet around these parts, and from my personal experience, the patch has made the game better. I'm strictly an offline player, so the lack of fatigue online isn't a concern to me, but I can see where that would be an issue.
The first 2 games I played the CPU was jacking up shots and that had me worried, but after playing more, the CPU hasn't done this recently and is taking their time running their offense.
HUM shooting percentage came down a little for me, and the CPU's did as well. Most games are around 38-44% for both teams.
In terms of foul discrepency, I don't see it, myself. If anything, I find I get to the line a lot more now post-patch. In my last game, Denver vs. Utah (Dynamic Season rewind), I went to to the charity stripe 28 times, compared to 11 for the Jazz. That game also went into OT, so OT games still happen

I agree with pretty much everything. Im only in online leagues, so outside of my own offline dynasty and that..I cant relate to the quick match head to head part of the game.
I noticed that the CPU has chilled the heck out as well...not sure how or why, but it has.

So offline seems to be where the game has improved, whereas for someone like me (who plays alot of online) the game has taken a turn for the worse. That seems to be a fair statement.
That's the one thing I DO agree with in terms of the patch skewing - foul discrepancy.
What people are seeing is this: the CPU will constantly run into defenders, get that same animation where they force up a shot, and a foul will be called on the user, even if they are just standing still. Basically, the CPU is jumping into the still defender getting the call.
I don't get that same call. I just get a missed shot. I mostly get calls in other areas, just not in that "altered shot" animation like the CPU does.

yeah, i can see totally how someone who plays mainly online, head to head, would be ready for a straight jacket at this point.

Yeah, this is true. I get a close foul discrepancy, but I have to earn my trips..while the CPU gets the "Lebron Calls".
I get whistled when I have clearly beat the cpu to the spot, and I dont press y..I just hold my ground while he smacks into me, and chucks some slop at the rim..TWEET!!!!!
I downloaded the patch last night and noticed some of the rookies have a 0 rating, like Jason Brockman on the Kings. I started a game with them and inserted him into the starting lineup and he morphed into the alien that Byars was early on. I noticed a couple other rookies were rated 0 as well. It has them listed as being 0'1" tall.

You know what Pared... Im on PS3 and dont have the patch yet so I cant speak for post patch, but pre-patch I find that If I attack the basket with my Star players the game is A LOT more likely to call a foul for them than they are for the role players.. Not sure if its me, but??
I haven't read through the entire thread, so forgive me if someone has already mentioned this, but part of the patch that includes getting hung on the rim when attempting to dunk in traffic is not a nice addition. I would rather see the crazy blocks from behind that I see so often. I was playing with Denver last night and made a great move to get Carmelo to the hole, there were two guys in the lane, they were not in Melo's way by any stretch of the imagination, they were both on either side of the rim and of course jumped up to make a play. There was absolutely no contact of any kind with any player and Melo got hung on the rim. Before the patch, that would have gone down as a poster. Not feeling that part of the patch. Everything else has been cool though.

Yes, it was even pre-patch. It's not an issue of getting the calls. It's the CPU getting different calls post-patch. Sportguy said it best when he said "Lebron calls."
Did a little test. Uninstalled the patch so I could do a direct before/after comparison.
Definitely feels more complete post patch.
Going back to pre-patch felt a bit... empty.
Spent a bit more time with the post patch game and i must confess I am getting used to it. I went down to Pro, but I think I may be able to go back up to All Star soon.
Still needs a tweaking patch though. (All things that need tweaking have been well documented already)
one thing that i'm about not to be a fan of is the rim stuffs, i had two PERFECT alley lobs, one to Shaq and one to Verejao, and both they got stuffed by the rim. i dont mind seeing it once a game, but come on, its tough enuff to dunk now, at least for me, but that game i saw it 3 times. tone it down please.
