Swing Speed ALWAYS Slow?

First and foremost let me just say that I'm loving this game. I've been playing console and PC golf game for a long time and this is the most fun I think I've ever had.

So is anyone else ONLY seeing slow swing speeds no matter how fast you move the stick on all non-putter strokes? And then... with my putter all I typically see are fast swing speeds and if I try to slow it down I ended up decelerating and completely screwing up my putt.

I've learned to compensate for it (although it's tougher on putts with fast green speeds) but I'm just curious to see if anyone is having this issue? It wouldn't concern me if I could actually produce a fast swing speed but nothing I've done will ever generate a fast swing speed. So instead I'm just managing my club distances accordingly and it works fine but it just kinda bugs me I guess.

Re: Swing Speed ALWAYS Slow?

Most of my full swings are Overswing/Slow. Occasionally I will get a perfect. There is some talk that aftermarket controllers can solve this problem, but I have gotten pretty grooved in with my current swing, so I don't see any reason to change.

Chips and pitches are usually overswing/fast unless I am scared of a shot and I can get them closer to perfect/perfect. Again, I have just learned to compensate. As long as they are consistent than I don't have a problem.

OK. I'm seeing exactly what you're seeing so at least I'm not alone. And I totally agree... I've gotten used to it and I just play accordingly (which quite frankly... is what happens in real life too).

This is off the original topic but I also love how some days I'm not "swinging" the club on the right plane so I just adjust my aim accordingly if I can't get my swing path back on track. Again, it's just one of those things that makes the game more simulation like and enjoyable.

Re: Swing Speed ALWAYS Slow?

What I've found is that the slow/fast speed you mention is more about the swing tempo, not exactly how fast you move the stick. For Slow, I usually have that split second pause at the top of the backswing before pushing the analog stick forward. To get a faster tempo, you should already be doing your downswing just as, if not before, you reach the top of your backswing... This is why the Fast shows up more often during putting and chip shots, you're already doing the downswing before the animation has a chance to go all the way back.

Then again I could be wrong, because I'm not sure how to get a Fast/Overswing with my theory. Hopefully someone that knows more about this can chime in.

Re: Swing Speed ALWAYS Slow?

Two factors can be an issue here...

1. Did you equip shafts with the +3 boost? If so, change back to Regular Flex... You can achieve a fast swing with Reg flex easier and you hit the ball further that way....

2. An aftermarket controller usually hits with fast swings easier than an xbox controller... AfterGlow or a Gamestop one are your two cheapest options.....

So are the afterglow controllers easier to hit straight with also?

Re: Swing Speed ALWAYS Slow?

Yes... there are less inputs and does not seem to detect the slight movements that an xbox does......

Seeing as the game is made for xbox and ps3 and their controllers using aftermarket ones in an attempt to hit the ball straighter seems like cheating to me.
