You can only use the car you're currently using in career mode online... So if you're a real life driver you have to restart and choose yourself. Next you just go to car and select your paint scheme and whatever your current scheme is- when you go online, that's what you will be racing with

Post Re: Nascar 11 Custom Car Thread

I really like painting cars and consider myself pretty good at it.
I've been working hard on my #10 Gatorade Dodge. This paint tool is very frustrating and much more difficult to learn than they made it out to be. Its not nearly as good as Forza's.

As far as the paint tool...
I have 3 strict rules to follow when painting a car.

1) Work slowly and save after each "phase"...
start with base design...save... etc.
2) Create a decal for every logo you will do for the car
(everything but the "base design")
it will make it much easier in the long run.
Also helps the car look more "uniform"
3) Make sure you have the desired side selected..
Whenever your are applying any text or decal.
The top bar lets you designate the side the decal is on.
If you try to apply a decal to a side that it isnt designated to it
will start doing some funky clipping and fading that looks...Horrible!
Also, try not to make any decal much bigger than the side you are putting the decal on.
This will also cause the same funky clipping and fading.
If you make a mistake undo(L1) and save the car.
It seems its all downhill once you make one mistake.
I just save the car and come back in.
Takes alot longer.. but lessens the frustration.

If you can put in the time and have the patience I think most people will be able to get the hang of the paint tool. Im at a slight advantage as I work in Photoshop and Illustrator everyday at work and it makes wrapping my head around this very clunky tool much easier.

Oh yeah and good luck to anyone that wants to make numbers with outlines... If anyone has found a technique let me know! I was going to use #23 but I find it near impossible to make an outline of a number other than 1 and 0. Biggest reason why I switched to #10. The one and zero will be easy to make and outline with shapes.

Ive managed to figure it out to an extent but since Ive only had my PS3 for a couple days now I cant figure out how to take a picture of the car and upload it to get it onto here... Can anyone help?

Re: Nascar 11 Custom Car Thread

It's kind of a shame for people to go thru all the work designing and painting their cars and the only people who can see them are themselves. They paint jobs dont show up online and theres no way to trade or "Buy" them ala Forza

not that mine will ever be good enough for public consumption, but I'd definitely like a Davey Allison paint scheme done by one of the talented guys
