My League Top 3 Protected Question

I've traded for a top-3 protected pick, if that team lands in the top-3 does it just roll into the next season unprotected? Any help you can give would be appreciated, thanks.

Yes. 2k didnt expand upon protections, its just a 1 year thing

I thought it might help others plus I show where and how the protection backup pick shows up as well.
