My first myPlayer was a 6'7" playmaking slasher SG. I rarely take dribblers in 2K so I wanted to give that a chance this time around as well as be a good passer. While a blast to play single player, I've had poor success online. I frequently get put at SF or even PF, am not a great shooter, and usually play with a PG who wants to run the show so I don't get to use my skills effectively.
I decided it'd be fun to have a player who can try and ruin everyone else's day so I made a pure lockdown PG. Sometimes its a blast (I had a close walk on game where the much higher rated slasher I was matched up against ISO'd me the last like 10 plays and I saved the day with a block on one possession and a steal the next), but the 'extremeness' of the archetype causes problems. My ball handling and speed with ball are SO LOW for a guard that its almost impractical for me to handle, I can't shoot at all from anywhere, and I still get stuck at SF a lot (at 6'5, I guess I should have made him smaller). Also despite maxed out lateral quickness, speed and accel, I still feel slow. If I get matched up against an AI, I'm almost worthless since he never sees the ball so I can't apply my defensive skills (and if I double off of him, of course that will be the one time they pass, and I'll get 'leave man, defensive breakdown' and lose like a crap ton of teammate grade, which is key since I don't get a lot of box score stats.
I'm wondering if my determination not to take a limitless range shooter, dunking PG or 7'3, 340 pound center is basically dooming me to a poor online experience. It often seems those are the only viable play styles.
Thoughts? Anyone had success with these archtetypes?

I love my 6'10 LDD SF
You have to get you defensive badges maxed out
I also have contact dunks and posterized silver
Play like Draymond green, you are never gonna be a 30 ppg scorer but it's fun defending, they are very good passes and rebounders too
