Potential changes!

Let me explain-I always thought it was static. If you are an A pot, you'lll always be a A, B-B, C-C. It turns out I was wrong though. C Yasmani Grandal starts out with a B potential, but this year I got a email notification called 'Stock Rising'.His B potential changed to a A-Excel in the Majors. I checked and a number of players had similar changes. 1B Alonso changed from 'excel in majors' to 'huge upside in show.

There's a couple of email notifications in Roster Related that will let you know when this happens-Struggling Player and Stock Rising. I don't recall a notification for Alonso, so it might be it periodically reassessing a player's potential with good performance on the field. Knowing that it's fluid instead of static, I'm going to re-start my franchise and take this into account.

Well your player has to be going good or bad for a long time.If you have a player on a hot streak or cold streak for long enough you'll get one of those emails. I remember the first year Hank Conger was starting at the MLB level he was really struggling at the plate and I got one of the email notifications that he was a Struggling Player and the potential description changed. I think you get the Struggling Player and Stock Rising emails in Mid-may and Mid-June.CF Jason Pridie of the Mets got it and he slipped from Sure Thing to a lesser A potential.

Stock Rising email for potential increase, Struggling Player email for potential decrease. It should happen in May and/or June.Potential description in scouting report should change.Look in Roster Related email section.

Re: Potential changes!

Yep, it's only those two emails and they come around twice or so for each team during the season.

I was wondering if it was possible to manually influence it by having a guy pitch well, or if it can only be done through simming.

Re: Potential changes!

If the player gets a boost from B to A during the season, do you see him starting the next season as an A potential?
