Usually, I look young in my guys. If there is a player who's good but old and a player underneath him that is not as good but younger, I'll take the younger one. In my Franchise, I have 2 players over 30 and thats it

What order of posistion do you take? do you pre plan it kinda?

Also does it get old? I mean I've never done it because I'm all about realism in the game, so i've been thrown away from it...

But I really want to finish a 162 game season or two in this years game, always get close but quit. so i'm trying to make a dynasty in the forums for people to follow so i'll be inclined to finish it haha... seems like a fantasy is unique so people may get drawn in.

I too go young when playing a Franchise with a fantasy draft. I chose to do (and hopefully stick with) a Franchise w/my Royals. Now financially I know I'm pretty limited, so I was able to focus young but get a couple good veterans (especially pitching-wise w/an not-injured, Wainwright, David Price, Ubaldo Jimenez). I too wanted some of our top prospects (like Moustakas, Hosmer, Montgomery, Lamb) and was able to get them. My pitchers will get to develop in the minors, while Moustakas already is w/the major league club and doing okay. I'm excited to see how this pans out since I'm handicapped offensively but have awesome starting pitching.
In the deed came the glory; in the glory came the champions.

What I do is open up Excel and I put down about 100+ guys that I would want and where they went in the draft Early, Mid or Low in the round. As I went along I mapped out who I needed to take before hand and what I needed to what I have already taken.

For the most part players end up going within a few picks each time depending on what the team took and there has been a couple that went a few rounds early or late, but not often. The randomness is pretty good, but not so good at the same time. There is certain rounds where the CPU picks all pitchers then all position players then all A rated prospects. That will switch up giving it the bit of randomness and why some guys go a few rounds different each time.

I draft super young. Some guys I got.

              Carlos Santana
              Lonnie Chiesenhall
              Justin Smoak
              Freddie Freeman
              Bryce Harper
              Jacoby Ellsbury
              Troy Tulowitzki
              Yovani Gallardo
              Jeremy Hellickson
              Brett Andrerson
              Kyle Drabek
              Madison Bumgarner
              Chris Sale
              Aroldis Chapman
              Jeremy Jeffress

and so on. Not great, but pretty young and talented.

Fredi Freeman is a good player. I had a regular Braves chise going til my PS3 crapped out this morning... through april i had 8 homers with him... it took a week of sub .100 averages for me to get him going though.

Bryce Harper is a beast. Never played with him, but I'm more scared to put something over the plate with him then Pujol's, who has never gotten a hit against me in the game.....

Kimbrel will go pretty late. I picked him up in my Twins Fantasy draft in the later teen rounds (if i remember correctly).

He's pitched pretty lights out for me as well!

in my braves chise he was a perfect 9/9 on save oppurtunities... and throught the month of april hadn't given up a hit.... and no i'm not just good at pitching... his fastball went through people...

speaking of that, try and get brandon beachy for a cheap SP that can do wonders.... he'll be my 4th or 5th if avaliable.

I have never done a fantasy franchise in the game, but I play fantasy baseball every season. In game will be a little different cause its every team picking not just 12 guys, but if you have a first five pick, even the 1st pick take han ram or tulo. SS is one of the thinnest positions for awesome players. everyone wants to take albert with their first pick, but cabrera, tex, votto and fielder are much better options if you have one of the stud shortstops as opposed to having albert and a crappy SS. This probably wont be possibe in the game, though Id still take the SS with my first pick. If you really want heyward snap him up in rd 2 just to be safe and the other guys are right kimbrel will be there later, if you miss him look at jordan walden for the angels who is also an up and coming fireballer.

talking about this makes me maybe wanna start a fantasy chise lol.

                          Re: Fantasy Draft tips.

I've done probably five or six fantasy drafts in this years game. I have a problem sticking with them though. It's tons of fun to make your own team, but it's hard for me to play a franchise where I don't "recognize" the other teams. I'll probably try another one though when I get bored of my Sox franchise.

Strategy wise, do a few "mock" drafts and you can see a pattern usually that the CPU follows when drafting. The first four or five rounds the CPU goes after the best players most of the time, regardless of position. At certain rounds the CPU will all go after one position, like SP, RP, or CP. You definitely want to know when those rounds are coming because you don't want to pick an OF then have 29 CPU teams take the 29 best CP or something. Once you figure out where the CPU likes to take certain positions, it gets easier to draft well.
