I can honestly say I thought all 3 of the stadium pictures provided were real. I didn't realize they were actual video game stadiums until I really looked close. Whomever said the graphics took a hit was lying, they look great.

If gameplay was tweaked extensively and we see some simulation aspects, this could be a complete 180 for 2K in a great way.

Game is looking really good so far from the pics. Hopefully it continues.

I'm not going to lie, those stadium shots kind of have me drooling!

Something about the crowd looks weird in the outfield compared to how good they look in the infield, though. Do they change to 2D or go a completely lower resolution or something, or is it just because they are very far away? Perhaps they had to do something to keep the framerate stable.

Either way, the lighting looks pretty sick! Hopefully 2K is back, competitively speaking.

Still not feeling the gloves or faces, but everything else does indeed look improved, especially the stadiums. Lets hope all the stadiums look as good as the ones shown here, because they looked amazing! VERY impressed with the improvements there, as some of them (like the Nats park...which looks awesome now!) looked way off.

I said last year that if VC put their pedigree to work for the MLB series, good things could happen. It looks like we are getting a glimpse of some of that in the art department. Out of everything we've seen/read for 2K10, this is the one thing that has me looking forward to seeing what's next. Very happy with this insight. I hope the following ones are as detailed and as promising. Well done!

The Parks look very good and in older 2k versions I always loved the lighting and skies, but im very confused after reading the 2k art directors explanations about player faces how can they post those player faces and actually think their greatly improved ?
From screenshots they look pretty good but in the article pics examples of Albert and beckett both 09 and 10 faces, especially 10 look very blurry .
The hats are also custom fit and look much improved for 10.
He also said no player gear was touched from 09 Soxfan so those rubber gloves and flat top helmets will still be there .
The Felix and kendry commercial was kinda of funny , I also saw a screen of Reyes fielding and it looked great , my jaw dropped but then other screens dont .
Does anyone remember the older games maybe 2k7 where you could edit anything any color even the glove webbing , parts of shoes ect .

Well VC improved gameplay for NHL2k and they had a full cycle again with MLB so it can only get better and im intrigued at seeing the new navigation display screens hopefully with larger letters .

Re: Major League Baseball 2K10: MLB Developer Insights - Art Direction

I stand corrected, apparently the graphics were touched a bit and look significantly better. Blown away by the stadium detail and actual grass patterns for each of the ballparks.
Now just need much more signature animation information!.... And some AI tidbits, because if the batters still swing at almost everything near the zone, this shows over before anything even gets started. I sure hope the batter/pitcher AI was completely scrapped and reworked from the ground up for 2K10.

As it is now though, I can't wait to see more. Bring it on
