Are the forums indicative of the popularity of UFC 4?

The forums are dead. Around this time during UFC 3's launch the forums were so active. What happened? The forums generally die down after support ends, but we are in the beginning of the patch cycle.

Is it because the devs are less active? Is it cause Geoff is gone? Is it because of discord and reddit? Is it because of UFC 4?

The devs are less active with GPD gone.

Game changers don’t post on this site much.

The game isn’t tailored for people who come to OS.

People have started going to the discord.

I think they are on some level. I end up playing the same people in OWC way more than I should. The user base seems pretty small from my experience.

Finally broke down and bought the game. Regret it immensely, and feel ashamed, because it is terrible.

I think it also has to do with feeling that what is published falls on deaf ears, no matter how much you want and comment on something, you know they will not listen to you, they are in other things, in another way of seeing the game

To some extent this. I am here a lot, I keep a tab open on these forums pretty much everyday and check whats going on. However I don't have much to say anymore because I've already said it many times in many different ways. I feel like its sorta pointless to keep saying the same stuff I've said since the UFC 3 beta.

But I'll be watching.....and occasionally feel the need to repeat myself again.

Haz are you an online or offline player because offline is by far the best against the CPU it has ever been, you and others who say the game is rubbish are the problem for putting people off buying UFC 4 even if they are only offline players. The fights against the CPU are far better than any Fight Night games which i own all of them and did enjoy them at the time but now look and feel like crap, anyone who is a boxing follower knows the movement and mechanics are nothing like how boxing is. UFC 4 does have some problems but at least it feels smooth and frenetic, i would give it 7 out of 10 minimum but by the time we get all the patches it will be even better.

The forum has taken a nosedive in quality. For the first half of the year we had countless threads speculating conspiracy theories regarding UFC 4 with no actual information and now there are daily threads of people complaining about whatever they lost against in OWC. Can't deny takedowns? UFC 4 the wrestling simulator. Then there are the people who didn't get the game but still continue to browse this forum and try to hop onto any hatewagon they can, spreading negativity instead of moving on with their lives. If you look at the thread about the game being on sale it's just a bunch of low effort "durr game bad" replies.

A lot of the informative/contributive members (IMO anyway) were GameChangers who as usual get circlejerked against because apparently they didn't oppose the things this forum doesn't like or they are shilling for EA. It's hardly a surprise there's been an exodus to Discord.

Obviously I rub some people the wrong way too but this is my perspective on why I barely browse let alone reply anymore.

Not gonna lie, I'm rarely on here anymore because of exactly what tomitomi said. Largely, this place is not worth my time with all the haters and trolls who, somehow, post 100 times about a game they never bought, will never buy, hate without playing it, etc. Has nothing to do with GPD being gone, I'm more active in the community now than I was when he was here, just not this community.

There's plenty more useful ways to spend my time both as a dev, and as a person. Any constructive post is instantly weighed down and buried.

I still check in in the hopes things will turn around, but so far they continue getting worse.

I have to agree regarding the quietness around here. I have never seen such a lack of feedback (good or bad) for a patch. 1 day later & the patch thread has barely made 3 pages...that pretty much confirms these forums are clearly not the go to place for this game anymore. I guess I should start being more active on Discord hadn't I...?

I totally agree Skynet, i know i only play offline which is excellent against the CPU but the negative comments made on this site are way over the top. There is a bunch of trolls that get on and don't give a true account of how good UFC 4 is,after going back to UFC 3 i don't think i will play it again, the flow of gameplay is much more fluid in UFC 4. A couple of questions if you have time, will postured up elbows and hammerfists return because it seems strange that they are missing and will simple subs without the mini game be added back as it is much more enjoyable not looking at the mini game and easier for casuals,at least give offline players the option.
I am now going to follow you on DISCORD which is far better than this rubbish forum of haters.

Joined the discord yesterday and it’s not that active either. Reddit seems to be mostly bashing the game and this place is very quiet.

Tbh I think people have given up at this point.
