Giants are approaching modern day dynasty territory.
Let's not get hyperbolic here.

Shit, that BS ball 4 call to Austin Jackson comes back to bite the Giants.

Blanco swings at ball 4 and Belt gets thrown out. Bochy's getting a little too excited here.

Okay Bochy. Get the bullpen in. Cain is to succeptable to the fly ball which is not good on a night like this.

Only saving grace at the moment is that this will likely turn into a battle of the bullpens.

For the love of God, can he force them to sing Take Me Out to the Ballgame rather than something about him blessing America?

The ending was absolutely perfect. Romo versus Cabrera. 2-strike fastball down the heart of the plate freezes him as everyone in the world KNEW it had to be a slider away.
This will probably go down as the best baseball season of my life.
-Matt Cain's perfect game.
-Buster Posey healthy and miraculously BETTER than his rookie season.
-4 consecutive shutouts, including a series shutout of the Dodgers.
-Ryan Vogelsong continuing his triumphant return to Major League baseball and proving it on the biggest stage after a late-season slump.
-The Giants basically winning the All-Star Game by themselves.
-Buster: Batting title, probable MVP, Grand Slam in the NLDS clincher against the hated Mat Latos, and a huge 2-run Home Run in the World Series clincher.
-Barry Zito pitching an absolute GEM to stave off elimination in the NLCS, then pitching another fantastic outing to out-duel Justin freaking Verlander in game one of the World Series.
-The absurd comebacks in both the Divisional Series and the Championship Series.
-Pablo Sandoval's 3 Home Run game, and World Series MVP.
-Tim Lincecum rising from the ashes of his season to be a long relief genius.
-The awesomeness that is Marco Scutaro.
-Sergio Romo getting some recognition for being every bit as good as Brian Wilson, if not better.
Sooooooo many amazing stories. It's insane to think that this could possibly be a better season than 2010. It can't obviously compare, because of the whole "first World Series win in San Francisco" thing...but it does. Amazing.

Great season for the Tigers. They happened to run into a buzz saw at exactly the wrong time. Between their hitters being cold and the Giants' pitching being on point, there wasn't much they could have done.
M GO BLUE!!!

I almost wish the Yankees had beat the Tigers now, as it really wouldn't have made a difference here and we would have seen a hurricane screw up a World Series.
Game 4 could have been moved to an earlier time, but game 5? How do you do a game 5 with no public transit and a HUGE hurricane hitting?

Congrats to the Giants and their fans and condolences to the Tigers and their fans. Seeing the Tigers struggle so badly, I don't feel so bad about my Cards struggling against the Giants...okay maybe I still do. :)

Congrats to Giants fans. When I was there at the end of June, I met some really cool fans at the park and surrounding areas. If I'm not rooting for the Reds, I'm rooting for the Giants. Seems like a great organization.

Woohoo!
I spent the entire day (and night) Saturday in San Francisco for a friends bachelor party. I didn't go to sleep at all Saturday night, which meant I was operating for nearly 48 consecutive hours without sleep by the time game 4 started last night.
It was great to see Posey finally do something huge with his bat during the WS. I was afraid he was going to finish out the series similar to how Pat Burrell did the 2010 series...practically zero contribution. Cain didn't bring his A game yesterday either, or his B game for that matter. From the 4th inning thru the 7th, he was lobbing grapefruits over the plate to almost every single Tigers hitter, including all of the big boppers. I'm honestly surprised the Tigers weren't teeing off on him all game long. Whew!
I couldn't be happier about the Giants this season. I was a big Freddy Sanchez fan, but if anyone were going to replace him, I would want it to be Marco Scutaro. I'm also an unabashed Zito supporter, and to see him erase a half-dozen years of shite by almost single-handedly propelling this team into the Series...it's almost like poetry.
Great game last night, and many thanks to all the classy Detroit Tigers fans here and in San Francisco this weekend. You guys never talked smack in bad taste, nor did you blame bad bounces or take away credit from the Giants. Congrats on your great season, and I will gladly meet you guys back here next year for a rematch.
Cheers!

Least watched World Series ever.
Average viewers just 12.7 million, down 23% from last year, worse than the previous low of 13.6 million for the Phillies-Rays in 2008.

Went grocery shopping today and saw last week's SI issue up with Cabrera on the cover proclaiming to fear his awesomeness. Kind of sucks to see your team bounced before the weekly sports mag can be replaced.

I spent all of yesterday in SF for the Giants parade. It was an incredible experience in one of the most beautiful cities in the world, just like 2010.
In 2010 the players went by on slow-moving cable cars. This year the players were in the back of fast-moving regular cars, which was disappointing to anyone who wasn't in the very first row. I'd say 80% of the 1 Million people at the parade didn't see a single player because of this rather odd decision. Still, the experience and buzz around the city was incredible. The smell of prop 19 was in the air, and it was lovely. After the parade was over, my Wife and I walked down the middle of Market street all the way to the bay with a half-million other Giants fans.
For those of you that are friends with me on Facebook, I posted a video of the crowd singing along to "Lights" just before the parade started up.
