EA Sports UFC 2 News Post

Geoff Harrower, A.K.A. GameplayDevUFC, has been posting quite a few details on the upcoming EA Sports UFC 2 patch on his Twitter page. While no date for the patch has been revealed, he has posted quite a few nuggets. Check out some of them below and let us know what you think!
  • Added the ability to block when in any level of hit reaction to the legs or body. This should fix the "magic combo" issues.
  • Tuned AI transition denial success rate to be more dependent on grapple advantage
  • Increased stand up arm health damage taken when holding High Block by 20%
  • Reduced stand up arm health recovery when holding High Block by 20%
  • Fixed exploit that allowed fighters to hold their opponent in side saddle with little opportunity for escape
  • Added Grapple Advantage Meter which allows users to better understand grappling mechanics and timing
  • Improved AI takedown defense
  • Further AI stamina management tuning
  • Taunt with @BlessedMMA in the last 20 seconds of the round and have your opponent taunt back to end a round "The Holloway"

No, it's different. It's up at the top, traditional meter style. In between the two player health and stamina meters.

Yes you can turn it off.

I still wanna know what the fun stuff you added to the game is GPD. When can you spoil that or do I have to wait till the patch drops to find out first?

It's the audience booing me, not the opponent. I wear headsets specifically to hear audience and everything.

Most people i play don't boo me, there usually speechless at my flawless technique.

I was really hoping for grapple advantage meters in practice, but not in actual matches. That's just me though. Could really shake things up on the ground. I just want it in practice though.

It might be off in ranked. Don't remember where we landed with that discussion.

You just know top players will rely on the GA meter. Never strike so the opponent can get an advantage. It's already bad as it is right now.

Top players already know all the GA rules though.

This is more for people who haven't been exposed to them.

It should be an option in Practice but that's it.

This new patch should be interesting. Seems like a big patch with important new features. The striking is going to be a game changer.

This patch is turning out not to be that bad. I want more spoilers plzzzzz!!!

Practice only or offline play please!!!!!

It makes sense.

If this game had some sort of better tutorial that would be more than sufficient to teach GA imho.

If EA wants ideas for better tutorial I have a tun of them that just involves tweaks to practice mode along with some new audio instructions.

If EA is happy with current training mode and challenges than disregard comments about my ideas.

Can someone post the spoilers so I don't have to read the entire thread?

Thanks EA for tuning AI takedown defense!

I agree. I'm strictly offline and I will likely just turn off the meter. A tutorial explaining GA may have been a better solution but as long as I can turn off the meter, I'm fine.

I honestly think all meters should be off for top difficulty levels and higher levels of ranked. I think it would make people a little more strategic in fighting than just watching meters.

Dont make the meters for ranked play for UT and Championships, i dont mind it for Unranked and Offline. I want there to be less Hud not more, people right now already just watch the stamina now we will have people watching the GA meter.

As a quick match player I don't like it. The higher levels of quick match (if you can find a fight) are just as competitive as ranked
