Actually, Clint said there are some outstanding issues with pass rush they are still working on.

Hopefully, that means more than just tuning.

people crying etc, this game looks amazing and from my stand point now that i've seen actual gameplay, it's a done deal, is it perfect? noped, but it does alot of things better than 16? ---> judging from video's of 17 vs 16? Yep. keep up the good job.

Ugh...I don't know why they have to have a zoomed up low angle shot of the player after a play. It's like the camera man is literally on the field....it breaks the immersion for me...

I don't follow much about the game but what's that blue line when running?

I doubt it, at this point they've done all the can do with the current system which is basically the same system since Madden 2001. The only thing left to do is tear the current system down and build a new one.

I agree it needs to be blown up(hello Frostbite), but willing to wait it out to see how close it becomes in retail instead of it naming it a wasted effort at this stage.

For the Cowboys the pass rush should be awful. Giants on the other hand spent a lot of money, but they are probably going against the best OL in the game. It's a really tough balancing act (how do you make the Giants 4 man pass rush a terror vs average to bad OL's but mitigate them against a great OL without having every team in the game do that? How much should the Giants pass rush be mitigated against a great OL? It's been an enduring problem for them.) You really don't want teams that don't have the horses up front to be able to just get to the QB with their front four, ie., Cowboys. But then you don't want a team with a great OL to also just give up QB tackles on a whim. But you want teams that invested in pass rush, ie, Giants to be able to get to the QB or at least push and collapse the pocket.

In the past they certainly haven't nuanced this via teams and personnel as much as the community would have liked and I'm not sure if that's still the case. From the looks of it, maybe, but we'll have to wait and see.

How do you let good defensive lines dominate sub par offensive lines and struggle against top flight offensive lines you ask? The answer is simple ratings and animations my boy.

Of course this is where ratings should come into play BUT a key problem here is that there are individual player ratings and skill level sliders, in which the latter may have more impact on the former than we think.

I was definitely on the fence about 17, and I can definitely see improvements.

That being said, not big enough improvements to warrant a 60 dollar purchase this year, I think I'm gonna wait and see what frostbite does for the game.

Line play looks atrocious and some basic animations still are just, ugly. Good job to Clint and his team for the major improvements over the past few years, but there's still too much of a ways to go for this game.

I feel the same way. I definitely like what I'm seeing but I'm waiting for Frostbite. I still see the same tackle animations that were in NCAA 14.

That's more than okay. Like I said, the game has taken significant steps and I'm sure it will be fun for a lot of people.

As for myself, fundamental football aspects are still awful in some areas, and cfm hasn't improved much whatsoever. CFM was my big selling point this year, and a ticker and player editing isn't enough to convince me.

I'm rooting for Madden and the team behind it, it seems like they really have nothing but good intentions for the series. It's just not enough for me to drop 60 bucks again.

If you belong to BB gamers program and still have 16, they might have the trade-in deal for 30 bucks again, wait for Black Friday deals, or wait till formation subs/coverage assignments make it into the game.

This way you can help support the sim nature the game is going in. Of course, I'm being facetious with this, but this is the same rhetoric we hear to support potential games on mobile and the like.

Oh no doubt about it. Once the price drops to around 30 bucks and the first few patches are out, I'll most likely pick it up.

I can see the direction the team is going in, and I can only imagine what Madden would be like if we had this team from the beginning of next gen. It's gonna take a few more years until we're really there.

There were a lot of bugs in the line play and pass rush in the ea play build(Rex said it was finalized in mid-May) that Rex and Clint both said have been addressed now, just something to keep in mind when you watch these videos. I don't really understand making a purchase decision either way off of YouTube videos, to me the game has to be played to properly judge, but to each their own.

Which would be great if they gave us a BETA like NHL or a demo like a few years ago...

I've already pre-ordered and expect the game to be great. Concerning the lineplay/pash rush bugs though, They happen where they happen, but for them to be in the trenches, in the build that you're showing to the public, is a nightmare scenario.

That is one area that will trigger basically everyone here, because truthfully their tuning for lineplay/pash rushing always seems to be subpar in the retail release.

Pattycake/stonewalling interactions always, always, end up being much too prevalent. It'd be nice if sometime in the next few weeks they showed us a build where those bugs have been squashed, because this is an area where they really struggle to get right.

Welp line play is a joke again...

I hardly ever post here (I don't play much football games), but I must say that this looks really good. I won't even see all the small problems that you guys see, but to me it looks better than any prior madden.

However, the most basic thing that I need to understand is what's going on with the running animation? Especially the ball carrier - what's the deal? It all looks great until the RB gets the ball. Then it looks like NBA Live 07 all over again. You know, the weird running animation as if he's running with his pants on the ground...

I don't know much football tactics or logic, so I can't see what you guys are seeing. But I do know that human beings (healthy human beings) don't run like that.

How can they miss that? Are they trying to break it on purpose - to fix it again next year? Can't understand this...
