NHL 15 Patch 1.04 Available Now, Full Details Included

The planned October content update for NHL 15 has arrived for both PlayStation 4 and Xbox One users. It includes the addition of OTP and the all new NHL entry draft. Unfortunately for OTP users, you can't play with friends, OTP is used for ranked matches.

According to quite a few users, the third jerseys don't appear to be in the game, but they are listed in the update.

UPDATE: According to djblue, if you download the latest roster update, you will see the third jerseys.

	Online Team Play Play online with up to ten players, locked to a single position using real-world rosters. These matches will be 5v5 ranked with AI controlled goalies. Be a GM - Rookie Draft For the first time in the NHL franchise, you will be put on the clock and feel the pressure like a real NHL GM. As they do at the NHL Entry Draft, you have three minutes to make a draft pick. If the pressure is too much, you can also call timeouts to extend the amount of time you have to make a draft pick or potentially negotiate a trade. You can make trades at any time during the draft. The CPU will also propose trades to each other and the user throughout the course of the draft.

Gotta say, imo the overall gameplay does seem improved this time. Just played a very enjoyable game, without the bs i've come to expect.

Played Three more in Playoff mode and lost 6-0 and I had to pull Price in the first and the cpu dominated me on everything even TOA

and I was out shot 34-18 .

But it felt good as I just couldnt generate anything to change the tide and I lost the next game 2-1 in ot and I won the last game 2-1 in the final minute and I really had to work for it and man the Kings like to hit me, alot !

One thing the Cpu isnt really getting many PP in Playoff Mode so I may bump up my Cpu teammate penalty to 5 as I become very skilled on defensive as Im getting 4pp a game to their 1 or 2 in 8 min periods but stats are very good as they normally out hit and shoot me most games and the PP thing also goes in streaks LOL next game 6 pp , 4 for cpu with 8 minutes left in the first period and this is why I stay on Allstar Default .

NOTE : Cant remember who asked me about Faceoffs but also Hold down the L2 button and left stick on the draw while doing the 9 o'clock to 12 o'clock and then down on right stick and I hardly loose any draws .

Gameplay UPDATE

Had my first taste of turbo boost mode kinda like playing with the Hitz tuner as I got deeper in the playoffs when it was a must win game as I had little control after being up 1-0 in the best of 3 as I couldnt , check , skate , pass or even shoot most of the time in game #2 and 3 with weird wiffs even on simple point shots that was in the prior update especially on excellent scoring opportunities ?

Real Physics were gone and goofy cpu speed boost started up with bad skaters doing in and out deke moves and intercepting everything as even my passes were slow or super fast while my players hardly responded and then it stopped once the cpu went up 2-0 in both games .

I was able to mount a normal gameplay comeback once I was down and I could reaction naturally again but it was to little to late as Quick was now making strange animation diving plays ?

Well I just hope this isnt gonna happen each time its a must win game in Playoff mode as I have no idea what tilted the Ice or handicapped me as I held in both games until the middle of the third period even with all the boost stuff ?

That boost stuff, berserk mode, whatever....just suxs. It's just so damn obvious and imo, poorly done. It shoud of course simply be the cpu taking more chances....not turning superhuman. I'm way beyond getting pissed bout losing at a video game. But just hate feeling like i've wasted my time playing.

I have seen the ROBO cpu too. Just during certain times in play now. You know, when the CPU needs a goal, those certain times...

I am going to start playoff mode tonight. Mizzou's posts made me try out the Blues and jeez either they are really good or they suit the way I play, but I find it really easy to score with them.

Fully expecting to get "tecmo'ed" at some point during the playoffs.

Do I wish there was player edit, a normal season mode and better practice options? Hell yes!!!!!!!!!!!!

Am I having fun with NHL in this current state? Yes.

I do hope they add more to 15 before turning to full on 16 dev.

Just played another truly fun game. Came back from a 3-1 deficit in the 3rd to tie it. I ended up falling in a SO. But had a great time in defeat. Pretty sold on V1.04.

Yeah, it seems to be pretty solid, even though I'm on a bad losing streak right now.

I have to remind myself not to get suckered into the corners in fear that I leave someone open in front of my net.

I've seen so many goal varieties though and none of them really had me scratching my head like before the patch.

Yep Mizz....i fall all too often for chasing the puck in my end. And it seldom ends well for me. It really seems like with 1.04, if I play pretty well I have at least a chance. Rather than berserk mode taking me out before i even get started. Or getting punished for daring to score. Seems that bs is toned down. Finally feel ok to get into GM mode.

Well I tried everything to limit the boost in playoff mode that I experienced with little success so I went down to pro skill level and though I dominated I decided to try something .

I switched back to Allstar skill level but it keep the default pro click sliders so for the most part I keep the click sliders on pro but Allstar for skill .

I have game speed at 0 do to high acceleration and strategies for both at 1 to lessen the constant screen changing I noticed and put my goalie reaction to 5 and theres at 4.

So far Im having fun interactive games again and since the slider attributes were kind of high from pro so I really dont notice the boost stuff when it kicks but either way things are more controllable for me .

The play is also a tad looser to create so for me its alot more enjoyable not always being mugged and me having to do it back for balance so hopefully Im good to go ! Man NHL 15 is alot of work but its worth it

There was actually a point after my 3-0 shutout and then going up 2-0 against LA I actually felt like I was getting too good at the game.. WOW.. that was short lived.

I've had two straight, great playing games....and zero berserk to ruin things. But ya, i imagine that bs is waiting to strike again. I guess it's apart of the game you either just deal with, or not. I just wish it was done in not such an obvious way. .

The thing with the getting suckered into the corners...

The issue is how rapidly the CPU brings that other side player right into the sweet spot beside the crease.

They extra hustle to post up there. So what happens is if you do miss the poke check or hit on the guy in the corner he will easily slide a pass over to the player who one times it in. Every time.

Watch your Rush into the CPU end...I can't find a single setting that will get the player into the crease spot as quick as the CPU does it. So what happens on your rush is you have to hold it up slightly to give that player time to get to the crease and when you have to wait the CPU creams you or herds you back out.

It's just one more of those EA programming can do what I cant do EA game moments.

One other cpu scoring method that bugs me. You have the puck near your board in the d end with a burly defender. A tiny cpu winger skates up non chalantly and obliterates you, collects the puck that spills to them perfectly, whirls and slots a beautiful pass to a player sitting in the crease who taps it home.

2. What?

3. Why is that offensive player hanging around my net as I am bringing it out?

4. Why isn't my defender looking for that wingers head for the next 5 minutes? If this really occurred that winger would fear for his life.

I ran a few tests in Playoff mode in a must win games by the cpu where I made the cpu goalie the worst through in game sliders and I lost both games 5-2 with cpu getting ENGs too as I basically went down 2-0 then it was 2-2 and down 4-2 and 5-2 on eng and all goals were generated and kinda strange looking.

Now I was playing against Quick ( Kings ) and I wont go through all that happened as we all witnessed boost mode but attributes as least on the goalie sliders meant nothing in these games.

Quick was about the same with normal sliders in these games and I shouldnt have to out cheat the CPU AI just to make this game play normal as it then just wrecks the gameplay experience as theres just much better options in 2014 to make the cpu play tougher then a boost mode that magically stops and starts as needed and I still dont understand why all modes in this game just dont play like "play now "does ?.

I bought NBA 2k15 for its classic teams yesterday but its not the same so Im gonna try a different Gameplay Tuner or maybe Simulation style and see if I can find a happy balance as its great to hear others are still having great games .

UPDATE : Started next series on Simulation and won 3-1 but I was just around for the ride on Defense and I only changed penalty sliders but My Crawford vs LA was amazing and LA could have had 5 goals easy ! crazy stuff but I made some great plays on Offense when the opportunity arose .

Next game is a must win ? and I try will and remain calm and react to what unfolds .

how do you download the update. I have an xbox one its, connected to xbox live but I dont see any of the new features. I can play games online.

This is a much better game for me post latest update and tuner. The big improvements for me have been the manual passing which still doesn't feel quite right but it's much better than it was before and the fact that I haven't run into the CPU berserker mode that has been mentioned a lot here.

I play All Star Hardcore with a few slider adjustments and I've been having some great games, played through 5 Be a Gm games with the latest updates and the games have just felt like hockey, I had to put the game on the shelf for a while with the previous tuners but not anymore.

What I really like is all my games have felt different, a comfortable 2-0 win, a 1-0 loss where I did everything but score, a 4-3 shootout win in a really even game, a 4-3 OT win in game I totally dominated but yet but goaltending (or my defensive skills) let me down for the first time and a 3-2 OT loss in a game I was lucky to get anything out of.

I was a bit worried after my first two games which saw only 3 goals but then in my next game there were 4 goals in the first 10 minutes to put any fears to rest. I really love that this game has that anything can happen feel to it.

Only slight concern is penalties or more accurately lack of but even though I feel they are on the low side I like that I've had games with 4 PP's and other games with 4PK's, 5-on 3's for and against so it's not horrible by any means, I'd just like to see a few more.

At this point I'm just enjoying the game for what it is and on the ice it's a great game right now.

The ' momentum' sure got me in my latest GM game, falling to the Kings 7-0. The cpu scored on 4 of 5 pp's, and out shot me 44 to 16! Official butt kicking!

I was up 2-0 on the Kings earlier in the season and felt like I was controlling the game, then they rattled off 5 goals to beat me 5-2, don't feel bad!

Played my first game ever yesterday (Be a Pro). Had a 7-1 lead going into the 3rd period. CPU decided that they were going to score on literally 85% of their shots and they won in OT 8-7. I can honestly say that this is the worst NHL game EA has made since NHL97. I'm gonna putz with sliders to see if I can make this game playable...

Make sure you're playing on hardcore gamestyle; it might help. EA has come out and stated that all other game modes are easier to score and be scored on and have a much more "arcade" type feel. Don't remember the exact post, but it was on their forums. I've played on hardcore since I got the game on the release date and I've never had a team score more than 6 on me. I've also never scored more than 6 on the CPU. To elaborate, this has happened once for either occurrence in about 70 games played. I do see 5 goals for a team maybe once in 8 or 10 games, though.
