Hiro1 and Smoke6. Thanks much. Yall have just resurrected my interest in picking up Madden on Friday.......maybe. Thanks for the info.

Also , Do your men actually respond to your swat commands/Intercept commands when the ball is in the air ? There are many times in CG where you take control of your man and hold RB to swat and your player does absolutely nothing.

OH, and do your RB's immediately cover the ball when you press the protect ball button, or is there still a big delay before they actually cover the ball ?

Finally tried this game. I'm loving it, feels so much better than last gen. The running need a little more control of the backs but this game is really fun.

I cant believe its actually so much better then CG i wasnt expecting it to feel this much different so glad i picked it up.I seriously considered not touching it even though i played every 360\ps3 madden a good amount each just for a football fix even though i didnt really enjoy them as much as i wanted to.Im shocked at how much fun it is.Follow me on twitter if you want. I have been sharing screenshots of madden 2k and soon some fifa its @killermiller31 enjoy the games everyone!

Problem is I'm seeing no penalties maybe one a game. If you adjust sliders cpu drops way too many passes. Im talking like their qb acc on 45 and wr catch at 50.

I'm really liking madden on the ps4. I skipped the current gen so for me it's all new. I also like the way madden looks on my vita using remote play. Loving the remote play feature as well as playing madden moments. So far so good.

I am getting MUCH better games from the CPU in CCM mode.

I went 7-1 in Play Now games, imported those sliders to a new CCM, and have given up 45+ twice in a row as I start 0-2 with the Broncos.

Pass coverage/Reaction is most definitely NOT reversed on NG madden. For the most part, every slider I have tested has responded pretty well (IN CCM, DISCLAIMER, THIS IS FOR CCM ONLY). Am loving these all-madden based "challenge sliders" I am working on. Pass accuracy is still a little weak user side. I have it at 5 and that seems to do a decent job but....I dunno...seems weird having to drop it so damn low before seeing any difference.

Also, is the new "check and release" route actually new? Was that in CG madden? Kinda cool, I think both TE and RB can do it.

# 188 N51_rob @ 11/17/13 12:58 AM
One thing that I am seeing that is weird is the WR pancake numbers. In my last two full games the leading pancake blocker in each was a WR. Last game with 4 and the one before that with 6. Leading number for offensive linemen? 2 and 3 in those same games.

I played with the remote play feature on my Vita this afternoon. Not too bad. Controls just took a little bit to get used to.

I am pretty impressed with the remote play feature across the board for the PS4 not just for Madden.

Having played it at a friend's house I'm saying it's a buy.

The game play definitely feels better. First of all feet planting is going to solve some issues playing defense, and with the unrealistic movements of players.

The AI itself, especially on defense is WAY better. Routes get covered properly, and you don't feel like players are just getting beat because the AI is shoddy. It still happens, but you never feel like that TE out-route is just money the entire time, or that TEs and HB/FBs just become un-guard-able. You feel like you have to read the defense and make your throws on time, which is nice.

WRs fight for the ball, which is AWESOME.

Swat ball seems to be back, in a more realistic since as well. Instead of PS2/XBOX/GameCube generation where everything would get swatted unrealistically, it's more of a bat down if they can, or knocking it out as it is received. This is REALLY not working on CG.

The line play seems to be better, but I don't feel like it's quite up to snuff with what 2K did a few years ago, but it's still lots BETTER. I'd like to see them manage their blocks better, and the DTs get a better push at times. I want to see lines like the Panthers collapse the pocket.

My biggest frustration is that it is still far to easy to run up the middle, or have the computer run up the middle on you. Runners still run over you when they shouldn't and seem to have that "animation momentum," if you catch my drift.

I think the reason for a lot of the improvement is simply that the system is actually capable of processing AI for each individual player on the field. So now you WR knows to fight for the ball, or your defender knows the positions of the guys entering his zone, and he makes a play on the ball as it leads the QBs hand if he's watching. He notices the TE or WR on the out-route, or just period. There is no "hive-mind," "11 as 1" failure anymore. It's very nice.

For me this is a lot closer to football than CG is, and it is a must by for me. I don't think it's such a big step that everyone should upgrade just for Madden. I think what this is, is a WONDERFUL building block in the right direction. If this is the foundation for NG Madden, it's going to be a very fun 10 years fellas.

After many games I finally am ready to start my CCM. I can't get over how much fun I'm having with the game. Just had a really fun pre-season game vs the Steelers in my last test game.
I was driving to tie the score with less than a minute left. 4th down and what I thought was a 1st down catch end up incomplete as the DB swatted the ball out of the WR hands.
They actually looked they were both fighting for ball. I had never seen that before so was very happy and pissed at same time lol

too late to start right now but will start my CCM tomorrow.

Exactly the same for me! Was never really planning to get a next gen console before next year when the show drops but if one of those games (FIFA, Madden, NBA2k) would have blown me away I would have probably changed my mind. But as it looks now both FIFA and Madden are heading in the right direction, while NBA 2k14 is a bit of a let down apart from the graphics.. Not yet enough for me to change my mind but I'm somewhat optimistic for next year now. Just hope The Show will deliver as it all comes down to the quality of this game now.

I would of done the same if I knew how bad Madden was going to be. I rigged the draft classes to get them on my PS4 but LOL, they didn't even include the option in franchise to even try to import draft classes. If so, I'd be importing right now or giving it a shot. Realistic drafts make this game a blast, looks like I'll stick to xbox for now, no biggy. Heck I might have to play Madden 25 next year on xbox if they don't give us an option to edit our draft classes.

I spent $400+ for a PS4 just to play the next-gen rendition of Madden 25...and it was worth it.

Anybody have suggestions for penalty sliders?

Really happy to see such a positive vibe for NG Madden 25. I am looking forward to picking up the next iteration (Madden 15) when I go Next Gen this time next year.

I am sure the game will take that " big leap" with another year of development.

I really hope the gameplay continues to improve and the presentation get's a huge lift from the Next Gen hardware. Scores around the league, ticker, halftime show, CFM enhancements, NFL Films music coming back, etc. AI and penalties must be a focus as well for the offline players like myself.

I am curious to know in the future how online CFM's went on this version of the game.

I was on the fence about getting M25 for PS4 for a while. In fact, I have it (digitally) for the PS3 and after seeing some of the streaming footage before its actual release, I was a but skeptical about getting it for new-gen. Originally, I only got AC IV Black Flag as my launch game, but I found a store that was honoring the B2G1 deal and actually had games in stock. So, I picked up NBA 2K14, Battlefield 4 and Madden 25.

I decided to get the new gen version of Madden because after the release, I saw some screen shots and positive posts here on OS (and other sites) and it was technically "free". I guess that you can look at it as anyone of those games where the free one lol. Anyhow, I sat at my desk waiting for my PS4 to update and I just stared at the unopened package. I was trying to decide if I was really going to open it up and give it a shot, or go return it for FIFA. I mean, I already have it for current gen.

After my wife and I had a few beers and watched the Hangover III (*spoiler alert: Not Good!), I decided to bust the shrink wrap off of the case, pop the disc out and give it a run. It started up and updated just fine. I jumped on a play now game, Dolphins vs Patriots.

At the start of the game, I immediately notice the graphical upgrade. It did not look like much on the streams, but when I started playing the jaggies where gone and it looked crisp and clear. The animations looked the same, although I did notice a few new ones on the OL/DL....

Actually, I will have mercy on your eyes by not typing a wall of text and I will just make a list of some of the things that I liked and some that I did not lol.

PROS:
Crisp and clear graphics
Crowd looks a lot better
Sidelines are a bit "living"
Grass looks nice (I didn't think that would make a difference, but it looks nice)
Running the ball has some weight and feel to it
Better lighting
I think that I saw a pocket form
Replays are a heck of a lot better...no more zooming in on jersey numbers as the replay progresses
Although TD celebrations are canned, at least you can see the rest of the team in the background
Gameplay seems pretty fluid...for the most part
Player of the Game and Play of the Game made sense, at least in the only game that I played lol

CONS:
Didn't really see any new animations, apart from what I mentioned on the line
I don't know about the commentary...didn't notice a difference
Player models are bulky, for lack of a better term...almost looks like Madden 08
Same water break cut scenes from CG lol
TD celebrations are canned
Reporter at the end of the game still have a trainer uniform on, polo shirt and equipment belt
At times, some choppiness
Players still slide around on the field a bit
Gang tackles?
Coaches have headphones, but they are still on after game
Coach models are still weird

I am sure that there is more, but I hit a road block and I will stop it here.

I know that I only played one game, but that is what I saw and played. All in all, I am not that disappointed with M25. Sure, there are many things that can and should be worked on, but for a new gen release I had a lot of fun playing just that one game. I am sure that I will have fun playing in career mode, as well. I am glad that I decided to open it up and play it. Thanks beer and Hangover III! Now, I am trying to decide whether or not to return BF4 and get FIFA lol.

Well, if you made it through all of that without falling asleep, thanks! I am off to play some more stuff now.

Testudo

I apologize if this has already been commented on but the reason for no imported draft classes would seem to me to be the fact that there is no NCAA football for PS4 Xbox1. Correct?

When you actually play the game, you realize the amount of pre-release hate this game received is ridiculous. Sure, it doesn't look as good as NBA 2K14, but there are many, many improvements over current gen, mostly gameplay related... which is what we, the hardcore sports fans, always say we want.

Of course, for many people, it's either the hype train or the hate train, and full steam ahead.

Anyway, as for actual impressions, I'm finding this Madden to be very solid in the gameplay department. I was surprised that the CPU offered such a stiff challenge on default all-pro, especially in the running game.

I love the fact that, after the initial load, the menus are lightning fast. They lagged like crazy for me on the 360.

Liking the new pause menu UI. I'm not usually a fan of Windows 8-style tile-based layouts, but this one is pretty sharp.

After the haze of next gen has left same turd new polish. Of all the new sideline animations supposedly in the game I have only really noticed the D use them offense wr's still very dumb. Way to many ints 8 a game at least 4-5 per team per game. Taking the game back today may buy again in a few months after tuners but for now not worth 60.

I still say if the wr's were half as aggressive as the db's when ball in air the game would play better. But still the same canned passes and receptions.
