NBA 2K14 CREWS Mode - 3v3 Half-Court or 5v5 Full-Court on Blacktop Court Played to 21

2K Sports has confirmed the details for NBA 2K14 "CREWS" mode. Unfortunately, it's not all good news for CREW fans.

Alright, I disagree though. Don't mind CPU teammates at all really. Would prefer if everyone was a user, but don't think it should be mandatory. So, I disagree.

From 2k10 and 2k11 Crew mode was my favorite mode Ever. 2k Took it out waited 3 years and we get this BS I cant call this crew this is blacktop 2.0. This is a slap in the face to True Crew fans We wanted 5v5 like in 2k11 with improvements how hard was this 2k Devs... I can't support this and im not planning on getting next gen console and Live only comes out for next gen. I might not buy this game just to show 2k don't mess around with the customers we make you the money and im not spending my hard earned money on something that's half *** With a mode I was hyped up about then ended up disappointed Again.

2K never have a commitment of that this Crew would be 2K11 Crew. If they were to do that, then its lying. But since they make the game, they fiddle around with things, get real basic stuff, rebrand something here and there, and now we have "2K14 Crew."

Just like saying that 2K has "real life physics" when really its just a very modified game engine adding a lot of more algorithm for the game to choose more choices in collisions, interactions, and stuff. (An example, but not market as such... Yet.)

I mean I fully understand why companies do what they do, I've taken some business classes...but then again, it's as simple as not calling it crew, because Crew means something A LOT different to us who playing it back then.

What if Jordan re-released the first pair of Air Jordans, but they looked different and were brown and orange? Just ugly as hell...people would be mad that they had the nerve to call them Air Jordans.

When you have a name attached to something, you improve it..you don't take stuff away and call it the same thing. That's poor business no matter how you look at it.

And none of this is about the gameplay, from what I seen the game looks great, and I'm sure it's amazing but Crew Mode was hyping me up the most and now I'm sorely disappointed and I'm hoping next-gen builds my excitement back up...
because at this point I'm willing to sacrifice gameplay for crew, so if switching to Live has to happen me and a bunch of others on here would do that.

See this is where everyone is lost in translation and is where groups want to be dominant. This is the 2K atmosphere we have.

-"Sim Guys," the guys who want you to know basketball to win at this game
-"Causals," the guys who want to pick up and play
-"____-guy," the guys who want 2K to focus on ONE thing for modes (Crew, Association, Offline MC, etc.) Everyone wants a piece of what they want when in reality (for current gen,) its very difficult. There's near a lot of people for each category.

We have to remember what this game is, "NBA 2K" I'm not seeing this news as a shocker, a downer, yes, but I'm not shocked and I do understand the possibility of why everything can't be done. No one will ever be pleased, everyone fights with everyone, but a lot of people will buy the game for something.

How will fouls be handled? With no free-throws, what's stopping a team from fouling every possession?

But they're taking the most sim game mode out of the game lol

What's more sim than taking a guy tailored to a specific role on the court with 4 others made for their specific roles? That's why crew was fun.
They're taking sim modes and making them arcade-y, there's nothing sim about playing 5 on 5 to 21 on a blacktop.

And I'm not even a guy who only wants crew, my team was actually really fun and I enjoy associations too.

It's just, all they had to do was copy/paste 2K10's crew and we'd all be happy.

I'm guessing nothing. Will just retake out the ball. Maybe 5v5 full court has FT's, but since its up to 21, I doubt it.

I don't believe its the most sim, if we go by that logic, the Online Team Up is up there for most sim. But the opponents would be the make/break for this "sim experience."

I've seen street games up to 21 actually play in a "sim" way, running plays, shot clock, assigned specific roles etc. But that's real life and same situation. 2K can do this too. 5v5 to 21 is stupid, but it can't be sim, well, it can, but it depends who you play.

As for the copy/paste thing, it would've been possible... If 2K didn't re-write the entire Internet Structure in 2K12.

If everyone plays real ball, like you said, it could be fun as hell.

But people see blacktop, and you get self alleys and ten 3 pointers from each player. You get people reaching in every possession.

It doesn't matter if it's on superstar sim settings, because you can still play like a cheeser regardless...and being to 21 promotes shooting threes because you win that much faster.

And yea they changed the way the online works but still. Take Teamup, add the ability to customize jerseys and courts, and put in your my player at the certain position and there you have 2K10's Crew. It may be extremely basic but I'll take the most barebones crew mode possible over this.

As for the rewriting Team Up as Crew, I'm not a dev, but it would've been done if it was successful, I don't think its as simple as what we all interpret it as, since Blacktop already had the code for having myCareers connect somewhere, its probably a base.

Like, us hardcore Crew guys have asked for NOTHING special or amazing...just bring back 2K10/11 Crew and we're fine.

They praise this year's Crew and hype it up as "returning" but it's nothing at all what we wanted lol.

Us Crew guys feel like 2K doesn't listen to us and have defeated us..they want what they want and that's the way it's gonna be.

It's basically down to next-gen adding in what we all want, if it's not there then screw it they aren't getting my money anymore.

That's how the PC, Association, Sim Guys Playing online, Accessory guys, feel. PC haven't really been supportive, association guys are lucky that association is a standard, but its basically the 2K9 one, sim guys online complain about Cheesers, and accessory guys hate how the colors are off and how players don't look like themselves.

You can count me right in on half them things man lol, I don't play association anymore cuz it's the same thing.

I haven't played quick games since 2K9 because of how people play.

I'm constantly downloading or editing rosters because I want it to look real.

I have no loyalty to 2K, I've bought every Live and 2K game that's been out since 2005. I love basketball, and honestly it's looking like Live might have the best basketball game if they can do what 2K can't.

pretty sure i've said this before, but 2k wants to sell next gen copies too. they were probably afraid that if they gave us our real crew mode on ps3, we'd skip out on next gen this year. i mean i know i wouldn't have touched next gen no matter what if crew was right on current.

2k10: left same as year before, issues aren't fixed
2k11: left same as two years before, issues aren't fixed
2k12: left same as three years before, issues aren't fixed
2k13, left same as four years before, issues aren't fixed
2k14 current gen: looks like same as five years before, issues aren't fixed

Exactly. Thats why I said there's a struggle on what to focus on the most to produce a product loved equally by many. That's why I understand that 2K14 CG will not be the Crew game, but NG could.

No offense to you association guys, but at least you still have the mode.

Like I said I wouldn't even care if they released the Crew Mode from 2K10.

Sh*t I would pay them $20 extra and download it as some DLC at this point.

I hope for improvements in association too, maybe then I'd play it again but when you take out a mode so many people played and re-brand it as this garbage? Just take it and leave it out.
