By TwitterButtons.com

Welcome to the OS Mega Roster Project! I created this project so people can have REAL life NBA 2K12 gameplay. I strive for gameplay accuracy and I have done countless hours of testing in this area.

What is edited in this roster?
Ratings (By: Paul Pierce and Slimm44):

Ratings are not overall based, I never go by overall when editing players because I want the gameplay to be 100% realistic. Ratings are from data from the last three seasons expect for shooting ratings which are based off the current NBA season. These edits ALSO extend to classic teams.

Tendencies (Paul Pierce, Hyperballer and Slimm44):

Tendencies are what you can call a "mixed bag". Slimm44 edited the tendencies on his PC roster then I used them as a base for this roster. Hyperballer Provided the dribble tendencies to help provide realistic dribbling animations. These edits ALSO extend to classic teams.

Animations (1rose, Paul Pierce, Hyperballer):

As you can see we have tons of people who worked with the animation edits. We used 1Rose's sig shot edits in our roster from the signature shot thread. We used hyperballer's dribble animation edits for realistic dribbling animations. And I edited some of the free throw and sig shot edits to my own liking. These edits ALSO extend to classic teams.

Contracts (EagleRock562 and Paul Pierce):

Contracts were done from EagleRocks website that you can find here. I simply applied them and took away one year so that contracts are ready for the 2012-2013 season. I also edited +1 year for bird rights and years pro as well.

Accessories (Perry Price):

Accessories are from Perry Prices Sim 2 the maxx roster that can also be found on OS. He edited accessories from the last time we saw these teams and he has allowed me to use the valuable edits in my roster!

Playbooks (Vannwolfhawk):

Playbooks are from vann's popular playbook edits. They help teams play as realistic as they can. Vann tried to add how teams run Pick and rolls, cuts, screens and many other facets to the game with these edits. These were a huge help in making the gameplay great.

Player Movement (Weeks):

Weeks is what I like to call a player movement guru. He follows twitter and many other outlets to get the latest player movement. Another person I would like to thank for this is dj123456705 he constantly posts on my thread on player movement, I can't thank him enough for it.

2012 Rookies (Vtcrb):
I used vtcrb's draft class to get my 2012 first rounders. Other then faces, draft info and other minor details EVERY 2012 rookie is from vtcrb's draft class.

Rookie CAP's (Hulyan):

Hulyan has created the whole first round, including some second rounders faces (The rest of the players faces were as is on vtcrb's draft class). Hulyan is probably the best cap maker around and he did an excellent job on the faces.

Staff Edits (PJT8450):
Staff edits are by PJT8450! He edited staff so that all teams have their head coaches, assistant coaches and many other staff members correct. These edits ALSO extend to classic teams.

Special Thanks List:
Steve_OS: For mentioning my roster on the first page
vtcrb: Letting use his 2012 rookies and making the roster compatible with every draft class on this site.
Gausec: For creating some of the missing player CAPs
Hyperballer: Dribble Edits

I just ran a season simulation after editing the 76ers to replicate this season's stats. I would only recommend using these edits if you can force yourself to play realistically. For example, Nikola Vucevic shot 3-8 from 3PT land this year, for an % of 37.5 and a true rating of 82.

Here are the results from just one season simulation. Keep in mind, the sim-engine will give slightly different results from season to season:

Holiday 32MPG, 44%FG, 43%3PT, 16PPG, 3.2RPG, 3.1APG, 2SPG, .2BPG
2012 33MPG, 43%FG, 38%3PT, 14PPG, 3.3RPG, 4.5APG, 1.6SPG, .3BPG
Meeks 24MPG, 41%FG, 36%3PT, 9PPG, 2.3RPG, 1.4APG, .4SPG, 0BPG
2012 25MPG, 41%FG, 36%3PT, 8PPG, 2.4RPG, .8APG, .6SPG, 0BPG
Iguodala 35MPG, 43%FG, 36%3PT, 11PPG, 7.3RPG, 6.1APG, 2SPG, .3BPG
2012 35MPG, 45%FG, 39%3PT, 12PPG, 6.1RPG, 5.5APG, 1.7SPG, .5BPG

Please don't do that. The composite rating is MUCH better. I mean a 97 for Sessions would make him the best 3 point shooter in the game. Ridiculous. Please keep the rating as is, or at least close.

Using multiple years worth of data is much better than just focusing on a season that wasn't even a full 82 games.

Here are some of the ratings that stick out from the 76ers and Bobcats:

3PT Rating
DJ White 99 (1-1 for the season)
Sam Young 99 (5-8 for the season)
Nikola Vucevic 82 (3-8 for the season)
Jrue Holiday 80 (Composite rating of 82)
Tyrus Thomas 76 (1-3 for the season)
Craig Brackins 76 (3-9 for the season)
Reggie Williams 71 (Composite rating of 84)

Mid-Range Rating
Eduardo Najera 99
Thaddeus Young 78
Bismack Biyombo 66
Tony Battie 66
Andre Iguodala 62
Corey Maggette 52

@PaulPierce, if you want me to apply these edits to all teams I will. What do you think with what you see so far?

In my opinion the composite ratings are SO much better...

Having a guy that shot 1 basket have a 99 rating because he made his shot is ridiculous.

Unless they prove that they can be consistent knocking down shots, the ratings should not be that high.

Ray allen is a career 40+% 3 pt shooter..and you're telling me that his rating should be lower than a guy that was 1/1 for 3 pts because ray allen was 100/150

Those are completely made up numbers obviously...they are just there for arguments sake.

At the same time, I can understand Sam young having a high rating because 5/8 at least provides a small sample size, this is assuming you have his tendency number very very low so that he isn't attempting 30 3 pters in a season
Applying the same logic, a guy who gets into a game for 30 seconds in the season, and has the opportunity for 1 rebound, if he gets that rebound over everyone else, he should have a 99 rebound rating because he successflly rebounded 1 out of 1 possible rebounds while he was in the game.

See where some of us are coming from?

Not trying to sound rude, I appreciate all of the work you guys are putting into these rosters as does everyone else I'm sure...just trying to pose a strong counter argument.

I'm not necessarily arguing for this method or against it, although for the sake of realism I agree that the "Composite Rating" is a better, more logical choice. Remember, I'm the one who made the "Composite Rating" roster ratings/tendencies. I'm just throwing out another idea for a roster so the community can have more choices. I was simply putting those rating examples out there to show how a "Season Specific" roster would look.

What do you think, PP? This is your project, I'm just happy to help out. I'll wait to see your opinion on it.

Yea, i understand what you mean. I was more so arguing for your original composite ratings to stay or be tweaked as I am more of an association mode player, and I think it would probably provide more accurate results from season to season with your ratings as they are. I think your composite rating scale is great btw.

It blows my mind that with this roster, you were able to get some guys a proper number of assists.

Any other roster I've used the most assists per season that I see is around 8 or 9, and guys like rondo get 7 apg...in these he gets 10-12 consistently.

I guess a better way to say what I was saying last post is that if a guy only takes 1 shot from 3 pt range, it's probably because he knows, and his coach knows that it is not his strong suit and if he shoots them frequently, more often than not, he will miss.

Regardless of what you guys go with im sure the roster will still play great.

Can't wait for you guys to finish up this project...it makes 2k an entirely new game.

Thanks again for all of your efforts to everyone involved.

Under what name can I find the SLIDERS on 2kShare? Is it still Extreme3600 in Top Rated? Because I tried that and I can't seem to find it, just older sliders.

# 389 jersez @ 05/09/12 04:03 AM

Is this the same as OS Mega Sim Roster? I'm not sure if they're the same...I'm using one of them and the gameplay and everything is really accurate. Love the tendencies of each player comes through well. Good work.

Yay! Downloaded this roster for my Fantasy Serpentine Draft Lakers Association. Love how the tendencies of my players are realistic, especially with driving, where Westbrook is really agressive to the hoop, unlike the 2K Rosters. Good job, and I can't say how glad I am to have realistic gameplay, especially on high difficulties.
