Another MLB 12 The Show game update arrived this morning, bring it up to version 1.16. Check below for the details and let us know what you are seeing.
  • Schedules and box score were misaligned for a portion of the games for certain teams.
  • Occasionally when loading into online games, an empty field (home plate view) would be shown and user has to PS button out.
  • Analog bunting interface, versus a behind the pitcher view in online games would cause a frequent freeze when the user on offense bunted.

That's the point you seem to be missing. It has nothing to do with wanting answers. I really can't make it much simpler.

Has anyone who started a franchise AFTER patch 1.06 gotten any weird glitches, like the mega losses glitch? Or is that just happening with the franchises that were started BEFORE patch 1.06?

again, sorry to ask again, I am just a little unsure and want to be certain.
I screwed around with it for a while last night with my franchise started post patch 1.06, as well as a new franchise started post 1.16. I did not have any issues including using cross platform saves to the Vita. No funky records, no freezes, all the right teams standings wise making the playoffs.

I went through all the schedules and team pages, trying to make it freeze, and simmed through the end of the season multiple times on both the PS3 and the Vita.

I obviously can not say with 100% certainty you will be fine since my sample size is rather small, but I believe if you started your franchise post 1.06, you are in good shape.

I haven't done any testing at all with RTTS, so if you're an RTTS player, I don't have a handle on that situation at all.

I think someone above allluded to this and had no problems. I myself was about to start my franchise this morning when I saw the patch. I bypassed it then, until I could research it more.

As I stated above, I installed this new patch and it did fix my RTTS problems, and I am grateful for that.

Re your question...I went ahead and started my franchise just a little while ago, and though I plan to play all my games, I made a separate save of it, and simulated to a week past the all star game.

Checking standings, stats etc, I saw nothing unusual in W-L or anything in League Leaders and what not. It seems solid to me.

I saved it, exited completely and reloaded this franchise. Again all was fine, every team had 90-94 games, nothing blaring out in standings, or league leaders etc. All seemed very realistic.

My advice is save your franchise twice, and/or copy it to USB drive, BEFORE starting the franchise. Then if you do encounter problems, you can undo the patch and start the franchise again with the duplicated file.

Mind you, I did not have 1.06 installed, I removed it, so I don't fit your situation precisely I guess. But generally new patches duplicate the previous ones (and fix things that were wrong about them) so I think essentially we are at the same stage.

Hope that helps and makes some sense.

I don't think anyone has answered this for you, so I will attempt to.

On the PS3 main screen, ie where you are when you first power up and log in, go to same row where the icon to start The Show is, do not start it, but scroll up until you see "Game Data Utility". Select that, there you will find icons for games you have installed.

Find the The Show 2012 or whatever its called, select it, and there you will see an entry called "Additional Content". Highlight it, hit the triangle key and select delete.

This will remove the patch and put you back to release date. You will also start getting prompted each time you bring the game up to install the patch, you can bypass that by hitting the circle key, and it will move on. Or you can disconnect your ethernet cable if you wish.

Hope that helps, if I missed something, anyone else please chime in.

EDIT> Occurred to me, I have never purchased stadiums or any DLC which may be available, so do not know if you have bought some stadiums, if they would have a separate icon in this Game Data Utility or not.

So if you have purchased stuff (aside from RTTS training points, they are not included here) then make sure you don't delete them also! I know nothing about those stadia, as I have never purchased any. Just a word of caution. Perhaps someone else has knowledge regarding this and "Additional Content"

I'm curious to know if there are people who started their franchises pretty much on day one (with only the release day update) who didn't download update 1.06, but DID download update 1.16, and are or are not experiencing freezes.

I started my franchise with my own custom rosters about a week after release date, and NEVER downloaded update 1.06 (because I read these boards before downloading). I'm wondering if I should just keep on keeping on without the patches (I don't play online) or should I risk downloading update 1.16 and hope there aren't any freezes.

I downloaded 1.16 Saturday morning. I previously had 1.06. I started my RttS pre-1.06 patch. It worked fine for the 1.06 patch. Default rosters that shipped with the game. I am post-All-Star Break, somewhere around last week of July or first week of August. I do not have a save from before the All-Star Break.

For some reason, I can't upload my saves, so here is a dropbox link:

It seems like what was said on TSN was right. I found one of my RTTS saves from a few weeks ago that was before the ASB and it doesn't freeze or hav any of the other problems that my saves after the ASB have.

cannot advance past 7/15. I just played my game and when I hit sim the rest of the day to go to the next game it freezes

I am so confused.... I've been reading everyone's post on this subject , and trying to make sense of everything, but everyone is saying so much that it's hard to. I know that I started my franchise once v2 of the OSFM
rosters(Ridin's)was released, so I honestly do not remember if that was pre patch 1.06 or post. I am currently in the month of May of my season and so far no issues at all. I even have the Vita , and have had no problem with cloud saves. I decided not to dl the latest patch.. 1.16, fearing all this freezing stuff.

Could someone tell me if I'm in the clear , or if I'm heading towards disaster once I hit the allstar break and beyond? I understand that I may have to start my franchise over ... but I REALLY don't want to.

I just hung up with Sony PlayStation, and was told that they don't see this as an issue, for they only check the PlayStation forum if people are having problems, and they don't see enough complaints to warrant this a problem.

Supposedly if you are in a current season before the All Star Break, you are safe to DL 1.16.

I for one DL1.16 after the All-Star break (2 games after), and I'm freezing.

The patch apparently screws up anything after the ASB, if you have any save before the ASB it should be safe.

Yep!

This is the post I read...

*If your franchise is past the All-Star break, the patch will freeze your franchise when trying to advance a day. The records for certain teams will also be jacked up.

*For franchises past the All-Star break, once you reach the post season, the franchise will no longer freeze.

*once you start a new season, the patch will no longer freeze the franchise mode.

Also, it appears that once you reach the September call-ups(primarily after the minor league playoffs are finished) the patch will no longer freeze the franchise mode.

While its not ideal, at least the franchise will straighten itself out.

Enjoy!

Yes, but how will we advance through the season if it will freeze after the All Star game? I guess we can delete the patch or wait til a new patch is out.

If you're advancing on a save you made before the ASB before you downloaded patch 1.16, you're good to keep going. If it's a save that you after the ASB before you downloaded patch 1.16, it's screwed.
