But, either way, it probably wouldn't be an easy score so he advanced the base he might only have been able to.
I'll be back in March if I see this happen on a less playable ball.

The thing we don't know - what if we replayed that scenario 10 times? Does the AI react the same way every single time?

I highly doubt any MLB player is immediately tagging up from 2nd on a ball hit that well toward the wall.
So, my wonder is: do runners on 2nd always tag up on deep fly balls to the track in left field?

Not that I want to test results, but I just want to enjoy the game that's given to me. But, on a ball hit off the wall, I would prefer the runner on 2nd score.
And if the runner can't, I then ask if runners are fast enough or if arms are too strong.
Now I'm thinking too much...

To me, from the footage we've seen so far, this game looks perfect.
The commentary is much improved to my ears, I know a lot of you complain that its the same thing, and it is but how many different ways can you call balls and strikes and outs?
I think with the addition of the new in game stat info and a little background on the players themselves, it will make listening to these guys call the game a lot easier.
To me the commentary is much improved.
Graphics look amazing to me and well gameplay I think we all know what to expect.
For me, I just hope the throwing system is more fluid and smooth.
Seems to me like when introduce a new feature to the game, its pretty good the first year but then they really nail it the second year.
These San Diego guys never cease to amaze.

If you were expecting to hear all or even 15% of new commentary (however good or bad you think it is) in a total of 20 innings worth of footage well............................ I got nothing.
It's like saying "hey they promised us 1,000 new animations and I have only seen 3 of them so it's barley improved. They half####### the new animations this year IMO.

Seriously guys, 1.. we've only seen a small amount of gameplay and 2 saying they "half a$$ed" etc.. is uncalled for, period.
Some of you just don't get it as far as the time and effort these guys put into their games.

Unreal. Looks so great. Those stat overlays look amazing, really brings the game to life. I don't know how anyone can say anything negative about commentary. Of course there is going to be many of the same lines. You can't throw out the old commentary, you just add to it. Imagine if they removed all old commentary and added new ones, in 2 weeks people would be saying, the commentary is stale. How much can you really ask for, there is a fixed amount of space to add comments.
I am so pumped for this game, and this year the Marlins should finally be rated high

I'm sure there's plenty that can attest to this, but I remember playing the game even after the World Series had ended and I was still seeing things that I hadn't seen from March until that point.
Hold off on the anxiety a bit, give the game a chance, and then let these guys know what you think. They always listen.
p.s. I can't believe how fluid the player models and motions are and how many stances were revamped/tweaked. It's very noticeable as compared to last year.

Do all right handed batters do that pull animation down the line?

I'm not a Cards fan, but, if I remember correctly, I've never seen Pujols finish his swing with 2 hands, Trumbo on the other hand, almost always finishes with 2 hands, so that is a welcomed addition (was a bit tiring to see him hinish with one hand in 11, but then, he WAS a rookie, so thats obviously that.), also, I hope Kendry Morales has a 2 hand follow through. They never gave it to him in the couple years he played.
But yeah, I loved the gameplay, and the new presentation overlays are AMAZING! They are unbelievably cool, makes me think I'm watching a real MLB game

You can also see on the foul ball Pujols hit, he finished with one hand.
viewed this vid and in regards to the preshow, it needs work.
gone is the Player to Watch, which i always liked.
plus, during the lineups, pitcher intro & defensive alignment nobody says anything after Matts intro of the OSD for all three. its just silence.
there should be some sort of OSD speaking about what to look for in todays game.
or even better, harold reynolds or someone giving a report on the game.
this game needs a pre-show enema.
lol
its actually regressed in this aspect over the years.
but i do agree that until ps4 commentary and presentation will be incrementally moved upward.
i remember in the first Show blog posting on Sony's blog ,Russell said this:
i am sure this quote is adding to the fire.
when u hear the words #1 complaint/massive overhaul in the same sentence, I can understand people expecting more.
3, 5 or 200 innings.
massive would probably make it noticable right away. it would also apply if the announcers were changed.
anyways, as far as OSDs id like to see things like 'career vs' and 'last night' type numbers.
as well as a scouting report for each pitcher.
the presentation does look improved, but nothing like i've seen other sports games do in one cycle, especially when its a major focus.

I like that the commentators made mention to 17th SB for Aybar and one of the Angels having 1 hit in his last 4 games, nice improvement for franchise games.

also it wasn't a cutscene, it was done in real time.

Looks so great. Loving the little changes, like the new follow-through swings, the better fluidity, new ball physics, hat brims...
I wish the guy playing could, um, play though. And he didn't balk on like... every pitch.

Finally we can watch some very nice gameplay videos. The additions to this year's game are awesome. I really wonder why there are still so many people demanding something like an "overhaul" or even a "major overhaul". If there is one game that doesn't need that, it's MLB The Show. The game has always been great because it is a true baseball simulation and this game continues to get better each and every year.
Very positively to mention:
- Ball physics (this game will definitely play like a totally different and much better game)
- No sound anymore during replays (e.g. when the bat hits the ball or a runner is sliding to base)
- Greatly looking overlay design
- Cumulative stats (underneath the score bug) are back
- New cumulative stat overlays during the game (e.g. HR team leaders)
- New broadcast style (cutscenes) is simply amazing (and we just have seen little about that yet)
- New and different music before the inning breaks
- Seems like the uniforms now stay dirty when batters reappear at bat
Please, guys: Fix the Chicago Cubs shoe glitch. As long as I've been playing "The Show" their shoes have always been partly gray and we have no chance to fix that ourselves.
Love the game from what I've seen yet and can't wait till March 6th! Great job!
