I don't know if this has been mentioned yet and I am not trying to sound like a downer or anything but I played the demo a few more times and then found out that the best buy in Cranberry PA has MLB10 The Show full game playable in their Kiosk! I figured this would be great to play that game right after this demo to compare the two and I have to say without even the slightest bit of doubt, The show is unfreaking believable. The second I hit the field it just looks and plays so real it's not even funny. 2K definately steppped up it's game but if you get a chance or have the luxury of owning a PS3 you will see what I mean. I was on the fence about possibly getting both but now there is no way I would even play 2k's game. Just giving my 2 cents and not trying to sound like a fan boy or anything. Plus I'm 40 so it would be a fan old man! lol
Just wanted to chime in and say it was a decent demo. Had fun.
Also I don't understand the "CPU is still swing happy" comments. I'm getting anywhere from 1 to 3 caught lookings a game and a good amount of watched pitches.
Overall I'm happy and still plan on getting the game
No one else is concerned about being able to throw one pitch down the middle EVERY time and not giving up run?
Pitching with Bastardo (62 overall) and not giving up any runs to the Yankees just throwing fastballs, middle of the plate is just wrong.
I know alot will just say "well don't do that" but I think its a good test to see if they adapt, if they hit well in their hot spots etc.
I have played about 7 games doing this with both teams and given up a total of about 3 runs.
The first game I played I mixed pitches and spots and gave up more runs.
Its not like they even hit the ball hard, and I usually get 2-3 k's a game doing this. Mostly everything that is hit is little grounders or liners to my infield. I hope its just the difficulty level. I don't think it should be easier throwing batting practice.
Other than that (which is a giant concern) I am liking what I see.
Yeah I dont agree with the "the cpu is swing happy" comments at all. Its much much better.
Hitting is the biggest surprise for me. Ive always liked pitching but been ehh about hitting. Thats completely changed. I love the hitting in this game so far.

Same here. LOVE the view. Can't wait to try out My Player Mode....

Most people don't look for problems in the game but rather try and have fun with the game. Is it weird that that is happening? yes. I for one would never pitch like that so eh....no issue right now. If pitching realistically gives me the same problem then I'll worry about it. I'm simply not going to go to whatever links to show problems in a GAME.
Lasty the demo I believe is set on Pro level. Lets see what happens on a higher difficulty after game releases.....

While I agree with you.
I didn't know what I was doing with the pitch gestures and such....for 3-3 inning demos I threw all weak pitches...all aimed down the middle...by accident..I was trying to figure out why everything was weak, thinking I was doing the gesture incorrect each time....and gave up only one hit(a homerun to Ruiz)....
When I did miss the gesture..it was a wild pitch(thank God instead of a meatball)...
They swung at almost all my weak pitches regardless of location(except the wild and those WAAAY out of the zone)
...so it is a bit strange to see.
I chalk it up to the pro setting.
I really hope the final version has some ANTI-ALIASING because these jaggies are fugly....
Really? I've been playing this demo for a while now and there really aren't that many noticeable jaggies in the game. Maybe its partially your tv settings because the graphics look pretty smooth on my end.

It's definitely not my TV. When you are hitting get a little closer to your tv & tell me what you see.
Then when pitching look @ the mound & tell me what you see..
I played the DEMO in both 720p & 1080p & the jaggies are there with no noticable difference
Demo has been pretty awesome so far, just preordered the game now that i've been able to give it a spin. Can anyone give me any tips for timing my swing better? I have been absolutely horrid at hitting.
havent played played this game since 2k8, but after playing 2k10 i can't tell if it still affects the fielder's throw based on how straight you hold the right analog stick.. does anyone kno if this is still in the game?

Maybe it has something to do with the week pitches. I was just mainly ticked at the posters that seem to take it personally when others enjoy a game. Either way..for me it seems if you pitch decent and in good locations I see no "CPU Swings at everything" problem. man I hope I can grab the games Friday!
This day and age there should be no jaggies at all, but many developers are just lazy imo.
VC is very notorious for not adding any Anti-Aliasing in there product, which is very frustrating. I mean you get 2x AA Free within the 360. Is it that hard to activate it when developing your product.
I really hope this Senior Producer that said Anti-Aliasing was in is correct
Quote:
Mark Little: We made big improvements to the visual quality on the PS3 (and 360 for that matter). We definitely reduced the jaggies and sizzle in the game, but we didn't stop there. We also improved many other areas like players, lighting and overall color balance.

I think it is....because when I figured out the pitches....the CPU started taking more.
The replays when actually available in the demo are quite good. I'm very interested to see how much improved the presentation will be in the final build when all restrictions are removed.

If you think that is bad..........go without a 360 for several months and play a 2K game on the PS3 where some 3rd party developers like 2K are too lazy to fix the jaggy issue.
I have the demo d/l right now, I can't wait to check this out after hearing positive reviews.
Another stupid AI issue. I was taking a huge lead off second, and they clearly had me picked off, and I accidentally hit LT to go to third. The SS ran towards me, and then got about a foot away from me, and threw to third. I turn and go back to second, the throw comes back from third, and the SS catches the ball, doesn't tag me, and lets me just walk right back to second.
Also, sometimes the CPU baserunners on my own team are too aggressive, and other times not aggressive enough. I know I can control the latter, but if someone starts running home from third on a routine ground ball, it's too late to turn around.
Saw something just a while a go that I hadn't seen before.
I was the Yankees down 2-0 with 1 out in the bottom of the 3 inning. Brett Gardener steps up and hits a weak grounder to Chase Utely at second. As Chase fields the ball, the camera goes to a behind the back view of Utely while he throws to Howard for the out. As the ball was halfway to Ryan, the game does a slow motion thing like it does when stealing. I thought this was pretty cool.
