NBA 2K9 Patch Released For 360/PS3, Impressions Here

The NBA 2K9 patch has been released for the Xbox 360. The PS3 patch should be released sometime tomorrow. Please post your impressions here.

i think you dont have to have the game installed on hdd... mine was installed before the patch so im not sure if it will work without the game installed... it should work i guess...

i wish they fixed how they record assists because i'm pretty sure it's wrong. Rose passes to Deng at the top of the key, hey drives past his defender for a lineup. Rose gets an assist. That is not right. No wonder I am consistently getting 10+ assists/game with Rose.

Does anyone know what these "small issues" are that were addressed? I would like to at least see or know what they were. Any of the mods or people in the know, can you post them if possible? It's the very last thing on the list.

The receiver doesn't have to shoot the ball right away for the assist to be credited to the passer

If he caught the ball and drove to the cup right away, the game has it right.

Just noticed that Rudy Gay now has "Dunk 7" package, one of the dunk packages that was previously only accessible on random generated rookies. If you switch off of Dunk 7, you can switch back to it too, unlike in association where if you switch off of it, it doesn't appear anymore.

Also, Derrick Rose has "Dunk 10".

These are in the new roster update that was put up this morning.

For next year they should give that guy a seat usher jacket so it makes more sense for him going up and down the stairs ( looking for unruly fans to throw out)

Really wish they would increase the tendency that put back dunks come out. I have played well over 100 games and have never seen a put back dunk in my own games and have only ever seen it while my brother was playing.

I hope by the end of the year they unlock all of the dunk packages.

Regarding post defense, I think what may of happened is I think they may have raised the jump height on shot block attempts. Tyrus Thomas just jumped out of the gym to block Bosh right then. But I do think they raised the jump height and ball tracking on blocks in the paint because I have seen a TON of blocks lately for anybody that tries to force their way in the paint for a shot. I used the Blazers last night against a friend who basically either shoots 3s or shoots layups and I had 5 blocks with Oden, 5 with Aldridge, 3 with Pryzbilia, 3 with Outlaw.

portlandblazer will be releasing a new O.S OUTSIDERS roster soon.
good thing about my roster edits is the patch doesnt really affect the changes i made as i adhered to 2ks rating system just at a more accurate, balanced and simmed scale.
i had to redo the teams game tempos though. as i lowered the scale pre patch to counter the default simmed ppgs being too high.
its a damn shame 2k didnt FIX the simmed rebounds per game while they were at it though..it hurts seeing teams struggle to get over 40rpgs in simmed contests.

a little lower than reality. and lower than what i previously had them prepatch. even though i significantly raised the game tempos of teams to their default base...i think 2k went a bit overboard with this change and neglected to test their results. as now team rpgs are even LOWER. and assists are a bit lower now too.

notice a pattern here. the teams with the highest game tempo coach profiles get the most rebounds per game.
warriors and knicks are both 100. lakers are 80. mavs are 75. and STILL the rpgs are waaaay too low. why didnt they adjust this as well!!! damn it 2k!

yes they are a bit lower now. i had them near perfect prepatch. i have simmed a few seasons in testing my changes post patch and a paul did reach 10+apgs in a few of them. but yeah. 2k lowered the ppg scale too low and as i said neglected to test how this would affect the rest of the stats.

Some of them are in the new roster update, as said in my earlier post.

Rose and Gay both have new dunk packages.
