I don't see it either.

People are overlooking the fact that the stars are getting solid touches, even in the post. In every single one of those videos, the big 2 or 3 guys per team or having the offense revolve around them when controlled by the CPU.

I can guarantee this will be even better in 2k10... but it's plenty great in 2k9.

The Calderon drive to the basket on a screen was a thing of beauty.

The Arena foul was nice too!

Thanks Steve!

Wasn't Steve controlling the Raptors? Thats what it looked like.

2k keeps repeating the same flaws, but live seems to be really striving to overhaul their game. live is fixing all of 2k's lingering flaws and is actually changing their game on a functional level, not just adding surface detail and new animations. as of now, live has a better post game, dribbling control, court spacing, play calling, play variations...and even their animations are getting pretty smooth.

I don't get the complaints about Haywood... Caron Butler had was getting some good touches and so was Jamison. Haywood seemed to be the last resort pass to me.

LOL... I guess you're a prophet of some sort? Whereas you haven't played 2K9 yet....

Uh what? 2K has a winning formula, that's why they don't NEED to overhaul their game.

Live still has that feeling that you're not even controlling your player; it feels like you're pulling the player with a rope tied around their body. Just unresponsive and UNfun.

Guys, let's not start with the name-calling. It will just derail the thread.

But NBA Live is so far from playing as smoothly as 2k I just can't even compare the two. But competition is certainly heating up which is a good thing since the NBA is smart enough to keep away from exclusive license.
They've put in a lot of work into the gameplay that you will not see from videos.

Wait until you've played the game.

Jasong, IIRC yes it was a Beta. However it's probably not far off from the final.

Exactly. Real-life is in the eye of the beholder. It is impossible for a developer to create a game that pleases everybody and thats why they created sliders. If they removed sliders, I would get a new hobby.

The game is going to be stale to some people because they are using the same engine that they used last gen. My opinion is that they are doing the right thing by using the same engine and just building on it. 2k cant afford to do what Live did and create a new engine because they dont have the customer loyalty and name recognition that Live has. Live has released a subpar game for 3 yrs straight yet many still buy the game religiously. 2k doesnt have that flexibility.

not even close...i have been an exclusive 2k player since the 360 launced (since 2k6)...i am just calling it like it is....live has improved in lot of areas that 2k has been lacking in for years.

i am not trying to start a fanboy war, i'm just trying to discuss the games and compare them in an honest and civilized way.

I swear some people act like NBA 2k was just a placeholder until NBA Live got good/playable again. NBA 2k has consistantly been a good solid game, yet it needs an overhaul(some areas it does). EA makes Live playable after all these years, now all of a sudden its the better game. SMH .

# 79 DC @ 09/23/08 10:46 AM
What SPECIFIC areas are you referring to Blues?

Also remember it is easier to see Live's improvements than it would be to see 2K's improvements

This was a great video imo. Nice to see the CPU taking shots off the dribble. One thing I did notice was right at the end when subs came in while Arenas was shooting FTs, they subbed in Daniels and moved Arenas to the 2. Previously in 2k8, if you wanted the guy shooting FTs to change position when you sub, you would have to wait until the next dead ball and often get stuck with odd lineups due to all your subs not coming in.
