2022 Hybrid Roster (rerate) - released

I’m currently exploring bringing back my old Hybrid Roster for 22. I have a rating system I used last year for pitching and hitting to do my personal roster that I released and plan on using MBMavs pitch edits, but need a rating system for defence and speed.

I’m looking for assistance to bring the roster to reality again. If anyone out there has any ideas on how to create the missing ratings as well as some people who are willing donate some time inputting all this in the game - let me know.

I’ll have more details about the roster upcoming but wanted to start a feeler post.

Here’s a speed rating system:

statcast sprint speed / 90ft splits

The scale is 8.00 down to 5.00:
>8.00 = 99
<5.00 = 0

I.E.
Trea Turner 2021: 30.7/3.75 = 8.19 | 8.19 = 99
Shohei Ohtani 2021: 28.8/3.86 = 7.46 | 7.46 = 81
Albert Pujols 2021: 22.4/4.63 = 4.84 | 4.84 = 0

For switch hitters you take the splits for both sides divided by 2

I.E.
Bryan Reynolds 2021: 28.7/3.895 (3.89R+3.90L/2) = 7.37 | 7.37 = 78
Jonathan Villar 2021: 27.3/4.04 (4.06R+4.02L/2) = 6.76 | 6.76 = 58

*If they don’t have 90 splits for the current year you can always go back to a year where they do have splits.*

It’s perfect for players who’ve played MLB games,
plus you can rate speed on a season by season basis.

With official news that the Full Minors project will be coming out, I will be using that for my base for this roster as I always have used.

Thanks, I expect to have some sort of version out this year, even if it just a repeat of what I did last year with my personal roster. I just find adding the ratings edits to what Ridin & team bring to the table makes it more enjoyable to play.

Those rosters back in the day were so much fun to build and then play, hopefully I can get a team together to help again this year that was as much fun to work with.

I downloaded Willard76’s edited roster for MLB 21 The Show yesterday. It is a true hidden gem in the vault. It hasn’t been downloaded as many times as others, but it has a perfect rating of 100 by those who have. The re-rates he has done is spot-on. I can’t wait to see his work for the ‘22 game. It can be found by searching the profile name “crapinmyshoe” for those interested.

For those interested in this roster that have MLB21 you can get an idea of what is to come with Willard’s Personal Roster in last year’s vault under psn crapinmyshoe

If you aren’t familiar with the Hybrid and what it was about - we take the Full Minors and do a full rerate mainly on the SDS players to balance everything out using ZIPs projections as our ratings base. In some cases we may edit some CAPs or add/subtract some players - we try to balance having AAA/AA depth players with a good injection of prospects to ensure progression happens properly and also to ensure players are in the game when they get called up for real. We also edit pitcher repertoires using MBMavs pitch edits.

This process helps correct issues with players who got a sip in the majors and ended up with crappy ratings.

This roster would not happen if it weren’t for Ridin and his team - I give them full credit for giving us an amazing base to work from.

What are you using as a base roster? Did Ridin's full minors come out yet?

I’m using last Friday’s roster as my base but it will be very similar to Ridin’s roster when it releases- we work a bit with each other
