Until games start having $250K tournaments for regular roster/simulation modes then the core of what we want in sports gaming is doomed.

The problem you face is that 2K is selling the game to millions of people who love it, while a few thousand scream into a moneyless void. If a regular roster/simulation tournament would draw viewers and drive sales, you would get one.

FACTS, a quick look at player badges, ratings and tendencies paints the WHOLE entire picture. . .

You guys are crazy if you think they do it because my team attracts more viewers. They do it because my team is a mode that drives VC sales and having a tournament where tryhards want to participate will drive that much more VC sales with players trying to build the ultimate team and drive more interest in a mode with a sustainable revenue stream.

Agreed, it's about milking the cow [emoji202] until there's nothing left.

They had a $100k Play Now Global Tournament in 2K20 and scrapped it because hardly anyone tuned in.
              Lineup:
              PG) Gary Payton
              SG) '95-'96 Michael Jordan
              SF) Sapphire Scottie Pippen
              PF) '95-'96 Dennis Rodman
              C) Hakeem Olajuwon
