    Horizon 5 help

So I am new to the franchise and am playing with a wheel. I got through the intro races and have made it to a few check points/missions.

However, im having an issue on turns that I dont know what im doing wrong or how to correct.

With several of the few cars i have available, when i go around a corner that requires me to lift/brake... i cannot stop the cars back end from coming all the way around.

Ive tried lifting the gas to coast, ive tried braking... countersteering seems to have no effect.

Im not inexperienced in racers in general, ive played the "other" Forza and didn't have this issue.

Any tips or help?. The first race i tried doing i consistently placed 12/12 and even finished over a minute behind 11th place. Im really not that bad of a driver, lmao.

I'm getting closer to something that works for me with my Thrustmaster TX force feedback wheel and Forza Horizon 5. This applies when leaving the TX at its default rotation setting of 900 degrees. Here are my settings:

    Outside Steering Dead Zone: 22
Linearity: 0 (which I believe is default)
    Vibration Scale: .9
    Force Feedback Scale: .7
    Mechanical Trail Scale: 1.5
    Center Spring: 1.2
    Wheel Damper: 1.2
    Force Feedback Mininum: .8
    Force Feedback Load Sense: 1.4
    Road Feedback Scale: 1.2
    Off Road Feedback Scale: .9

Again this works fairly well with my Thrustmaster TX, but I'm sure it will vary from wheel to wheel. I'm usually in the top 4 in the race events against the Driveatars in Average difficulty levels. Before I made these adjustments, I was lucky to finish higher than 10th.

I will try those. I did figure out that i was just being too heavy on the gas at times. Once i paid attention to the mph more closely when cornering it helped a lot.

I have noticed though that with my wheel it seems it doesnt take much to be turning hard. So maybe i need to loosen some settings and that will help as well

True! I found that I have to feather the accelerator with much more finesse accelerating out of turn in FH5, even with my settings to counter it.

I've experienced this as well with my Thrustmaster TX. A .1 increase on the centering spring force can result in a massive increase of "weight" in the feel. It can vary, however, depending on how some of the other wheel weight force affecting settings are set. There's an infinite number of permutations with this it seems.

What wheel are you using with yours?

I believe that wheel allows you to reduce your degrees of rotation. Try reducing it to 540 degrees and see if that doesn't help. I've now reduced my Thrustmaster TX to 540, and raised the outside deadzone to 30. It's giving me a more responsive wheel, overall, without yielding oscillations.
