    Mid Range game

Anyone having any luck with the mid range consistently? More importantly with the non elite players.

I'm slightly old-school and don't want to dunk or shoot 3s non stop. Any tips for pulling up off the dribble or passing the defender.

Try lowering the shot coverage/timing slider

Tapping LT on the move to square up when you're on the move is a good practice. That makes them easier to knock down. The pull ups have tricky timing.

This is absolutely what is frustrating about this game, course anyone can use Kyrie Irving or Steph Curry to throw up shots, the problem I’m having with non elite players is creating any kind of mid range game without using a screen, I can dribble and get past a defender to get to the basket but getting past them to then shoot a shot it’s almost impossible.

Thanks for reminding me. I never consistently used it but it helped.

It is extremely hard to score with non elite players. Unless you can get a mismatch or get them off moving off ball to creat space.

The tightness of on ball defense, makes it hard to get separation on mid range jumpers. If they called more fouls on jump shots that would help, because they could never contest as hard as they do on 2k in real life. The defenders constantly violate landing space.

When you walk in the practice facility coach says
: someone who values the mid range game lol

But that game is non existent in 2k en 2k dont value the mid range game...2k is 2 dimensional...slash or 3

No post depth no mid range game.

Seems a bit unfair that defenders are allowed to move like ballerinas to stay in front and also are allowed to go WWE when pressuring the ball lmao. 2K needs to refine their movement/foul system. Time to embrace the “freedom of movement” mantra of the current NBA.

I have to disagree with this because I live off the midrange and post game. That’s my favorite part about the game.

Same and any pg/ball handler worth anything knows that’s the second best passer beyond himself. Esp v zone or squares. I’m not always gonna shoot it but that’s where I want the ball. People are funny like they don’t know you exist if you’re not cutting or under hoop. It’s like tbh I can do more from here just pass off, you prol even get it right back if you play it right.

Great tip! Never knew this and I was just thinking how I’d love a pull up jump stop button. I will try this!

                        Re: Mid Range game

As for the thread title I have a nice mid range game but it’s combo of sliders with more freedom of movement but also utilizing DHO’s and exploding to attack.

The key to the DHO is to stop and jump stop before the DHO and hold B. It’s smoother than running into a DHO. Takes timing… especially pistol action plays with DHO into immediate PNR.

Lastly another way is by having PNR plays with running screen and higher set screens at an angle. It opens up floor for more space.

Ive been running with suns with Paul and Booker and that’s 90% of my game…

Playing my Brother 5 vs 5 i get plenty of room in the mid range and its fun knocking down jumpers from mid range ..faders pull ups etc but when playing rec center i dont get that space because the cpu players be closing out to quick and it feels like the mid range is a congested area.... i have to be fair and say there IS a mid range game in 2k22 but i wish the post game was deeper it has been flar for years now..

The post game is back in a huge way this year, and deeper than it has been in a while with the LS chains you can do. Strips/body blocks have been greatly reduced so you can actually operate.

Now whether randoms dump the ball down to you is a completely different story, lol

Although i see more shooting fouls in any 2k ever, it still is not enough and consistent. I would like to have more of those fouls as mentioned previously in the thread.
