Transfer franchise file from PS4 to PS5?

Ok, please forgive my ignorance as I hadn't been keeping up with the ins/outs of ps4/ps5 things when it came to the Show because I didn't know when I would be getting a PS5.

Well I got one today through Best Buy and I have a few questions:

1) I have the Jackie Robinson Edition of the game. How do I unlock the PS5 version?

2) Will I be able to transfer my franchise save file from the PS4 to the PS5?

Again, please pardon my ignorance.

If you have the hard disc, just put it in your PS5. Once in, go to the game on the front screen and hit the options button. It will let you select the PS5 version to download. I do believe it defaults to the ps5 version.

As far as the transfer, I believe if you upload to cloud in the game it will be available to load from cloud on the PS5. You may have to create a SDS account for that to work but the file will transfer over.

What he said. I broke down and bought the PS4 version on sale to play on my PS5 for SotS, and I play the Series X version via Game Pass. I created an MLB the show account and linked it both my PS and Xbox accounts so I can go back and forth depending on which team has SotS available. SotS available = PS4 version on the PS5. No SotS available = Series X on Game Pass. Only thing is I had to create a “user” on each machine to save settings, and also sliders. Works surprisingly well.

Quick question if you’ve been playing the PS4 version - do you get logos flashing off and on again over and over on compression sleeves? And cleats? I get that something fierce on the PS4 version so I’ve put generic sleeves on all my players.

Yes I get the flashing at times of logos on sleeves and cleats.

I need help! I finally was able to to buy a PS5 and upgraded my MLB 21 to PS5 since I had the Jackie Robinson edition. I've been playing franchise on the PS4 and trying to continue my progress but when I go to franchise on the PS5 it does not have any of my rosters or franchise files from PS4 even thou I transferred everything from a USB stick.

Why? What am I doing wrong? I created a account on the MLB website to link my accounts and still nothing?

On the PS4 save it to the cloud and then load from the cloud on the new PS5.

Thanks!!! It works. So all you newbies like me. My mistake is that I uploaded my save files thru PS+ cloud thinking that's how I transfer my files from PS4 to PS5 but you have to do it within the game (MLB 21) to work. It's one file at a time but you can continue your progress in "franchise" from one generation to another (not year to year).
