Is a good idea NHL 22 for PC?
Would you think about NHL 22 for PC? I think it's a great idea. There aren't many games of Ice Hockey for PC and it could have great success. Moreover this will be the winter olympic year (Beijing 2022) and the world national teams sector could be increased.Tags: None -

This question gets asked every year. I think it would be nice if it were but, I think it will be NHL 04 rebuild or NHL 09 with mods for most. Eastside hockey manager as well. I know there is a lot of interest with playstation emulators so maybe that can open some doors. I wouldn't hold our breathe for it though. Oh well... -

I mean, it would certainly be an easy-ish way for EA to explain the inevitable lack of upgrades to next years game...2025 Expos Expansion:https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets...gid=1295163793Comment

It's been a great idea since NHL 10. EA has yet to listen to it's fans...Comment

I am really happy of so many feedback that say I am right. Manager games are beautiful games, is a really advantage for PC gamers and also me play with Pro Cycling Manager 2020, but for the Hockey I prefer a simulation like EA Sports NHL. Maybe, the problem is the easy way to modify the game with PC, maybe for rights reasons, but for me the mods is another advantage for PC gamers and not a problemComment

WWE games are the same. The current roster is licensed but unlicensed material can be modded in there. In EAs NHL case they already have everything they want to have in the game licensed.
I would love for EA NHL on PC.
NHL Legacy through RPCS3 is the closest we have right now.Now go play NHL Two K!

Re: Is a good idea NHL 22 for PC?
I think it's a lot more simple than that. The reason why NHL doesn't get a PC ports is MONEY.
Both FIFA and Madden, who are infinitely more popular and so make a ton more money in revenue get a PC port. EA isn't very worried about "licensing" on both those games.
Nah. The more you think about it, it comes down to EA being lazy and not wanting to spend the money to port a game that doesn't sell nearly as much. They'd rather spend their entire budget on making a console version.
Why look for a complicated solution when a more simple one (and logical one, knowing how EA works) presents itself: Laziness and Money.Comment

Re: Is a good idea NHL 22 for PC?
I have a buddy who works on this franchise and the funny thing is this game is already on PC. All there work and testing is actually done on a version made for PC. So Its not like it would be more work other than some distribution and marketing.
They don't even need to pay for packaging and shipping fees since PC games rarely have hard copies.Comment

I agree that it probably has to do mainly with money. What I meant by the licensing was that it is a cost they do fully pay that the franchises I compared to like PES don't. But PES and WWE games have always relied on a heavy creation suite and eventually released on PC to let the modders go wild.
In the end it is always about making money. Also for PES and WWE games. Now go play NHL Two K!

Re: Is a good idea NHL 22 for PC?
I'll wait for a PC version. Might never come but at least I save 70 bucks a year for a no change year to year BAP. I haven't played Madden in 7 years, MLB the Show has already bit it for me and NBA2K I only played once.

Re: Is a good idea NHL 22 for PC?
They just finally switched to Frostbite which is pretty mind blowing if you think about it so porting to PC is probably real low on the to do list.
You gotta remember it's more than just porting a game then releasing it and you are done. You still have to support it. Trouble shoot, patch it. Internet infrastructure and support. I think the execs think that financially its not worth it.
That being said, I can see that thinking but it misses the bigger opportunity. EAs goal should be to get all their titles on PC for the Origin premier subscription service. Subscription services are where the money is. It's guaranteed future money. $119 cad a year and worth every penny if I was going to buy FIFA and Madden. If you didn't want either of those though, it's not worth it IMO. If you add NHL to that roster(and wishfull thinking a decent NBA game) its an absolute no brainer.2016 NLL Champion Saskatchewan Rush

I think you got a better chance of it going to PC via Xbox. I think Microsoft wants all Xbox games also playable on PC. There hasn’t been a pc NHL game since 94, it’s always surprised me that they release FIFA and now Madden for PC but not NHL.
