My hometown is where the original six flags is at and I enjoyed going there as a child. We also have a waterpark next to it and that was fun too. Other than that and a few state fairs Im not sure Ive been to another amusement park besides Disney World.MLB: Texas Rangers

Re: Favorite Theme Parks/Rides
Space Mountain at Disney World. It's an indoor roller coaster that is pretty dark with lots of light effects. Though the 1st time I went on it with my mom and sister it came to an ermgency stop and all the lights came on because someone opened an emergency exit. Fortunately we were right near the end when it happened so an attendant just came and pushed our car to the end where we were able to get off. My mom and I are both afraid of heights so definitely glad we weren't still near the top when it happened. No idea how long the ride was stopped for.Steelers : IX, X, XIII, XIV, XL, XLIII

Re: Favorite Theme Parks/Rides
I don't have a favorite but I can tell you one thing, no one will ever get me on the Goliath at the Georgia Six Flags ever again. my son & sister talked me into it against my better judgement. it truly is the only ride I didn't find anything enjoyable about. my eyes were shut almost from the beginning. pure terror. good thing I rode it near the end of the day because the last hour or two we were there I was not a happy camper. I've so successfully blocked it from my memory I've never had a nightmare that I was on it again. and after I rode it I was positive it would creep into my dreams for the rest of my life.OSFM23 - Building Better Baseball - OSFM23

Thunder Road at Carowinds on the NC/SC border.
It's an old wooden roller coaster that you can ride forward or backwards. The lap belts never click right enough so there are some bumps where you fly out of the seat a bit. It's terrifyingly fun

Re: Favorite Theme Parks/Rides
Would love to go to Cedar Point someday.
I love Six Flags Magic Mountain, though. Tatsu is amazing. Second flying roller coaster I've been on, since Stealth was the first one at Great America (now closed down).
Top Gun (erm, Flight Deck) at Six Flags Great America is also wonderful, too.
It looks like the same Goliath at Six Flags Magic Mountain, and that's a fun ride. I always nearly black out at this one turn part, though.Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60Comment

then again, on the other hand, I'm looking at this Kingda Ka, and even though it's an ungodly 450' high, it's over in under 30 seconds and I actually think I'd prefer that to Georgia Goliath's 3 & a half minutes and 200 foot height.
also, I'm looking at Magic Mountain Goliath and Georgia Goliath is positively David compared to Magic Mountain GoliathOSFM23 - Building Better Baseball - OSFM23

Re: Favorite Theme Parks/Rides
yeah, it's the first last & only time I've ridden a hypercoaster. I think 150 foot might be my limit. when you start getting to a couple hundred feet high, that's when **** gets real & stops being ''fun'' (IMO)

They're pretty comparable rides though in that I think they're pretty much the same manufacturer or whatever. They're both lap-bar only, too.Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60Comment

Haven’t been since I was in my 20s but Six Flags had an awesome trio with Goliath, X2, twisted Colossus.

Oh, and I think we have to be specific when we say "Six Flags." I know you're talking about Magic Mountain because of the rides that you mentioned, but there is more than one Six Flags amusement park. In fact, they have over 20 locations.Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60Comment

Re: Favorite Theme Parks/Rides
When I was a kid my parents took us to Six Flags a few times. I don't know how it works now but back then you could turn in a Coca-Cola can at the gate and get a big discount on your tickets. I still remember how rough The Ninja and The Great American Scream Machine were almost 20 years later.
This past Fall my wife and I took our kids to Disney World for a few days. It's the first time I've ever been and even though I was 31 the place made me feel like a kid. Everything about the experience was great other than the 11 hour drive with kids. It was a lot of fun despite some COVID restrictions in place. The crazy thing is behind It's a Small World the longest wait we had was for a basic *** carousel that my kids insisted on riding lol. My 4 year old was so enamored with everything and 7 months later he's still attached to his stuff animal Pluto. We may go back in September if we go to the Taekwondo tournament down there.. just don't really want to deal with September heat really so I'm not pushing hard for it.
As an adult though my favorite experience has been Universal. The wife and I took a trip to Universal with just us a few months ago. I had never been there either and we have never done anything on our own besides maybe a football game down in Auburn. We just called it the honeymoon we never took several years later. I didn't really think I liked roller coasters anymore but The Incredible Hulk Coaster changed that a lot. THE MOST fun I've had on a ride that I can remember was Hagrid’s Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure though. That coaster is just unique, fun, etc.. my wife and I rode it twice. Most of Universal's best rides are all Harry Potter themed from what I can tell.
We saw them test running The VelociCoaster. When the lines die down one day I'd like to go back and ride that thing.. looked fun. I'm sure it will be damn near impossible to ride without waiting forever for the foreseeable future.Comment
