The TrueSim Roster Project: MLB 21

Welcome to year four of the TrueSim Franchise Roster Project! If you've used any of the last three versions of the roster, thank you. You made it one of the most popular rosters in the vault and we (Jeffzinn2004 and myself) are excited to continue bringing the most out of this fantastic game.

For the first time, this year's roster will be both cross-platform and multi-generation!

    NOW AVAILABLE
    TrueSim Franchise Roster v1
    Sliders:
TrueSim v3 and TrueSim Playoffs v3 are for playing games, Simulation v2 and Simulation Playoffs are for simming

    Why Use This Roster?
By now, everyone knows how much Ridin's Full Minors brings to the game. We use that as our base every year. Ridin and his team don't touch MLB rosters. That's where we come in. We spend months before release conducting thorough research on more than 1000 MLB players and 500+ prospects. We use a data-driven method to re-rate each player, one by one.

We also refine ratings for all of the prospects included in Full Minors. They are usually inflated, ratings-wise or potential-wise, which makes long-term franchise play unbalanced and unrealistic.

This is all done to ensure franchise mode is fun beyond year one. If you want a deep, immersive franchise mode experience, along with rewarding gameplay, this is the roster for you.

    What's Included
-Re-rates for over 1100 MLB players and more than 500 prospects, including MLB Pipeline 2020 Top 100 Prospects.
Each player is re-rated, one by one, completely from scratch. All players are rated based on the TrueSim Projection System (TPS). TPS uses a variety of common and advanced metrics to ensure every player’s strengths, weaknesses and tendencies are reflected in gameplay and in simulations

-Full pitch repetoires powered by Statcast

-Adjusted depth charts, position changes and secondary positions for franchise mode longevity

-Re-scaled potentials for long-term franchise play

-Slider sets for realistic gameplay and simulation, for both regular season and playoffs

Guys, I haven't even bought the new Show yet because it is useless to me until the TrueSim rosters and sliders are ready. I appreciate all of your hard work. Baseball is the best, The Show is where it's at, but you guys come in and save the whole thing. Thanks so much, I can't wait! 90%!! I'm buying it this weekend. Let's go!

Always happy to see you back in action C. The roster set I'm working on was inspired by your approach. You do a lot for the community.

New to this forum, and picked up The Show this year after not having played it for a few years. After digging around on here I thought I would just use Ridin's Roster and edit it before I start my "real" franchise. Though now, since you already will already be making a roster like I was going to make, I will just wait for yours.

Any planned release date for your roster?

I would be remiss if I didn't state this:

First, I play the game upon release but my real season doesn't start until Cy and his team complete his roster and sliders...simply the best!!

Second, For those of you new here and see the ratings and wonder how a certain player has the rating Cy and his team gave the player...there is a method to the madness, and trust me they play great...now please bump Judge to 99 and reduce every Astros position player's stats as they are inflated from cheating.

Third, Cy has a real skill with rosters....and it is not just on the SHOW. I use his rosters and sliders on NHL and they are hands down the best!

I would suggest patience because they are well worth the wait!!!

Once Ridin releases Full Minors and we start getting to work on inputting ratings, I can better estimate how long we will need

Last year was my first using these True Sim rosters and sliders, and I was very impressed. My thanks to Cy and Jeff (and any others involved) for investing the time to help the community get the most out of this game.

Looking forward to the rosters; thanks again for your work.

I was just looking through the new roster file and noticed that Mark Melancon's 3rd pitch is a slider at 92 mph. A typo perhaps? Was that supposed to be a 4-seamer instead?

Melancon only really throws 2 pitches: the cutter and curveball. Since the game forces us to have 3 pitches minimum, I put the closest pitch to the cutter (slider) as pitch 3.

In order to include a pitch, the pitcher needs to throw it at least 4.5% of the time.
