I will supply digital codes for TS21 to the top two guessers in honor of and in memory of Motown_OS. I was thinking more like guessing at a series of things in many different categories and see who gets the most.

Some examples of the things you’ve been guessing at:

First and foremost, I want to say that its a great gesture on the part of Steve-SDS and the SDS team to do this and in the memory of Motown.

Date of first news: February 8th

New equipment sponsors (or not): Nike Catcher Gear

New throwback jerseys (or not): None

Release dates: PS4/PS5: March 30th - Xbox/other platforms: May 4th

New features (or not): Not sure if qualifies as new feature, but Season mode returns. Also think that while create a stadium doesn't make it in, there are 4 default major league stadiums that allow you to place logos of rebranded teams in them. Stadiums are retractable roof, dome, and two open stadiums with different backgrounds

Cover athlete (or something else): No cover athlete this year. Just a bat, ball, and a glove

Cover reveal date: January 29th

Rule changes (or not): DH is defaulted to on for both leagues with option to adjust to off or AL only

Any other guesses? List them.

I think that franchise mode gets some of the TLC that it deserves:

* Rosters expanded to 104 total (26 at each level; MLB, AAA, AA, A)
* Editing managers makes its long awaited debut
* Players wear team jerseys in All-Star games (next gen only)
* Past World Series Champions list (next gen only)
* Rotating interleague schedules (next gen only)

• Cover Athlete: TWO COVERS! (Tatis Jr on the PS5 version) (Some pitcher for the PS4)
• Cover reveal date: FEB 7th
• New features: Ray tracing will bring life to the ball park. Expanded rebranding options. Uniform sharing comes to the vault. New presentation packages or at least they go back to the 2019 setup. Toggle option for No doubt HR cam.

Rule changes: Any permanent rule changes will be implemented but if the rules are only for the 2021 season then they won't be included.

Fantastic and much appreciated gesture by Steve-SDS here. Sad that sometimes we don't always show our sincere appreciation to those around us until they're gone, but it does create a a humbling retrospective on a person's impact, even to those who (like myself) my not have known Motown personally, but have been very aware and appreciate of their work over the years. I digress..

On with the guesses!

• Date of first news: Based on SCEA's history of Thursday information drops, I'm going to go with Thursday, February 4th for the first non-cover related news.

• New equipment sponsors (or not): Nike Catcher Gear finally makes its debut

• New throwback jerseys (or not): Negro League uniforms. This is as much a wish as anything, but based on the new integration of Negro League history into MLB, I think it has a good a shot as it ever has.

• Release dates: PS4: March 30th; PS5/other platforms: April 13th

• New features (or not): I think the groundwork of an expansion mode is laid in Franchise mode. Another wish here, but I think it happens. The rumors and wishes for a create-a-ballpark, coupled with the uniform creation present in The Show for several years now come together to create a new expansion option within Franchise mode.
  
  With the move to next-gen, I think players wearing their team jerseys in All-Star games debuts
  

• Cover athlete (or something else): I can't get the "something else" out of my head. I'll go out on a limb and say PS4 goes Tatis, Jr. but that PS5 (or special editions) goes simplistic and pure with a baseball glove on a grass field. Thinking similar to the simplistic approach of the 19 MVP edition with home plate.

• Cover reveal date: Keeping with my Thursday theme, I'll say Thursday, January 28th
