    The Uriah Hall Problem

So if you've been on these boards at all in the past few months, you've probably seen me complain about Uriah Hall's likeness in EA UFC 4. Whether it be his shorts, moves, or stats. There is a lot that's not quite right with Hall. I wanted to compile an updated version of all of the suggestions, references, and evidence into 1 thread.

    Starting with...
    -----SHORTS
For some reason in UFC 4 they gave Uriah Hall the wrong shorts. In all the prior games he had on the Muay Thai shorts, but for some reason they changed it to the long board shorts in this game. In real life hall mostly wears the Muay Thai, but will sometimes wear the Short Board Shorts also.

Almost every fight he's had in the UFC he wore the Muay Thai shorts.
    Spoiler

And the other times he wore something other than Muay Thai shorts, he wore the short board shorts.
    Spoiler

Hall actually hasn't worn long board shorts a single time in his last 11 fights. Not a single time in the last 6 years.

    Next up is...
    -----STATS
I just recently realized Uriah Hall's recovery is only 83 which is the worst in the division. And his chin at 86 is 2nd lowest in the division.
    _____________________

He's only been finished 4 times though, by Costa, Brunson, Musasi, and Weidman.

-Costa is an absolute BEAST, and Hall was eating his shots for a while, and actually lighting Costa up tbh, until multiple low blows. Plus in the end, when Hall went down, it was on a body shot in that fight.

-Brunson was on a streak at the time of consecutive 1st round finishes, and has big big power in those windmills he throws. Hall got caught. But still got up immediately and protested the stoppage.

-Musasi is a multiple time world champion in multiple divisions and promotions. Hall also KOd Musasi with an insane devastating KO the 1st time they fought. Also, seriously worth considering is the fact Hall took the 2nd fight only 1 month after being KOd by Brunson, and without a full camp. This was also a TKO, after Musasi took Hall down, and the fight was stopped with punches on the ground, but Hall didn't actually get KOd here.

-Chris Weidman is also an ex champion, who at 1 point was legitimately considered one of the best ever. That was also very early in both of their careers, before either was even in the UFC yet.
    _____________________

So that's only 3 KOs in the UFC, and 2 of them were only 1 month apart. None of them were Hall actually going unconscious. .

Then there's his fight with Thiago Santos...
Anyone remember his fight with Thiago Santos where he broke his toe in half, and continued to fight on for 2 more rounds, and beat a beast like Santos by unanimous decision, with his toe hanging off. Hall is tough as hell. And has shown incredible heart and grit.

At the end of the day, the wrong shorts are annoying, but the chin and recovery stats being so low make Hall an exercise in frustration trying to use online. It's basically not possible past a certain level of play. You basically have to play totally perfect, not get touched at all, and light your opponent up, because 1 wrong move and you're rocked, or put down. Very frustrating, when Hall doesn't actually have a history of being a glass cannon, or having a weak chin.

    And ending things with...
    -----MOVES & COMBOS
Uriah Hall is missing a few moves in his toolset here. Hall is known for his huge arsenal of strikes, but has a surprisingly limited moveset in UFC 4.

And the combinations. Hall has some wild combinations.
A user named jdeckelmansr has already made a very detailed post showing examples of tons of wild combinations Uriah Hall throws, and a few other moves he's missing as well. IMO, he deserves higher than the lvl 2 traditional combos he currently has, and probably lvl 5 kickboxing combos as well.

There are a lot more of those into likeness like you there- it's like how OS used to be. It could catch on and more people would back it.

You should lol. You'd be surprised.

Looking only at OS you'd think only you and few others care about likeness. But on discord like half the suggestion box is likeness.

If you post your uriah hall suggestions there, people will get behind it.

The devs are also more active, especially some GCs.

While you're at it, see if they might add Dong Hyun Kim back in the game.

                That would be kewl.

Actually did end up making a Discord account, and posting some of this over there. The formatting over there doesn't really work for long detailed posts with lot's of pictures, and videos though, so all the details of the post don't quite come across as convincingly.

No responses yet, but we'll see.

That’s true, but it’s far more active and people bandwagon requests like OS used to- and they bandwagon likeness changes a lot. You have to post more, discord is a chat not thread so you have to post in their style. Try breaking it up and posting it separately so it likes its building on itself. Not just that tho, post all your other ideas too- you used to have a lot of ideas and opinions.

Also engage in chats, like you used to on OS. You became a prominent member of OS that way, you can do the same on Discord.

Much weaker ideas have been hyped on discord just because its by more familiar people. Like for example a lot of the likeness changes they request I honestly do not see as much substance as yours but they get floated because they are simple and quick to read.

I appreciate the advice. Thanks for the encouragement. I don't really have as much time as I used to, so it's hard to stay as involved, but I'll try to keep up.

Looks like my post on there got a few thumbs up actually now too, so that's really cool.

Keeping up the good fight for Uriah Hall over on Discord.

Just got my Uriah Hall Winners Challenge badge last night. Man, a lot of fun, but also very, veeery frustrating. I'd be dominating a fight, but his insanely low chin, and recovery makes it so you get hit once and your screwed. So you have to play damn near perfectly to get the win with Uriah, and getting it done 25 times last night started to get extremely annoying towards the end. lol. That chin and recovery just make Hall borderline impossible to play at any sort of serious level.

Also just wanna say, the only reason I'm so dedicated to this, is because all the suggestions I've made are backed up with pictures, videos, gifs, and background information/ context to back up and provide evidence for what I'm asking for.

I'm not asking for buffs or extra moves based on some type of theoretical argument. Everything I'm asking for is researched, and proven with detailed, plentiful, and provable evidence.

I actually think you’re wrong about Uriah being durable. Being KO’d 4 times (3 in the UFC) is a lot. For instance both Weidman and Rockhold have 5 KO losses and you seem okay with their low chins.

Unfortunately fighting through injury isnt represented in the gameplay since recovery is only in relation to your chin.

Uriah is a good fighter when he’s able to utilize his movement to keep himself from taking too much damage but I disagree that he’s someone I’d describe as “durable”

                              Finished 3 times.

                              Once from a body shot...

He stood up IMMEDIATLY from the Brunson finish and actually protested the stoppage as early.

Moose took him down and threw punches at his guard untill the fight was stopped...

Was never actually KOd or put out ever.

Now go look at Rockhold getting KOd repeteadly in devestating fashion. Savage, brutal knockouts.... Or Chris literally getting KOd 5 times in a row(would have been 6 because Gastelum was 2 second from KOing him too but he was saved by the bell).... Literally 2 completely different things. I mean not even comparable at all. In fact I think you've made my argument stronger even.
