    AlTito's NHL 21 Sliders

    Hey again everyone!

Here are the sliders I use right now in NHL 21. As always, I try to get a good mix of fun and realism, with a sloppy gameplay and a lot of loose pucks. I will be making tweaks while I continue playing and I will try to keep this post as updated as possible to reflect the changes I make.

I suggest to use All-Star difficulty with CPU Difficulty Adjustment at 0. That being said, you should start with it but if it becomes too easy, you may increase CPU Difficulty Adjustment by a few clicks or even try on Superstar difficulty, if necessary. You can play these sliders on 6 to 8 minutes periods, but I suggest you to play 8 minutes if you want to get more realistic stats.

Don't be afraid to adjust things to your liking or needs, these sliders are only there as a base. Have fun!

    Re: AlTito's NHL 21 Sliders

So far so good with NHL 21, I like it. The gameplay is of course pretty similar to NHL 20, but there are a few interesting improvements here and there.

The puck feels looser which is great and more importantly poke checks are way better, now the puck comes loose almost every time when it hits a stick. It's a huge upgrade compared to last year's game when sometimes the puck was glued on the opponent's stick, he would loose it only a split second before gaining it back like nothing happened and without loosing any speed, it was pretty frustating.

There seems to be more deflections coming from interceptions compared to glued puck on stick, which is another good point. AI positioning also looks better so far, but it's still early. I didn't see the CPU going with laser ping pong passing so far either, they feel more human with their passes, so it looks promising, but like I said, it's still pretty early to make a final judgment on it.

I'm still monitoring and testing things. It seems easier to blow by defenseman when using the hustle button, maybe in fact a bit too easy, so I'm testing Puck Carrier Agility, Puck Carrier Skating and Skating Agility sliders. Passing percentage sometimes seems a bit high too, so I'm looking at it. Finally, penalties seem on the low side, so looking closely at it too.

So, to sum things up, I'm having a really good time with the game so far. I'm just hoping EA won't make an update that would make that loose puck feeling disappear, because it would be really unfortunate.

    Have fun guys!

Good to see you back Al.

Only played one game but for me having some the same issues as last year. I upped cpu penalties to 90 and pp's were 5-0 in favor of cpu...I think last year I had cpu at 95 to get them to take penalties.

In regards to the new moves, have you seen the CPU use them?

I 100% agree with the ease of blowing by the defenseman.

I don't think I saw the new moves coming from the CPU so far. One thing is for sure though, I hope that the lacrosse or Michigan goal will stay really really hard to pull off and that we will almost never see it, because it happens so rarely in real life. That was a bit of a concern for me when I saw that it was in the game, so I hope it stays that way. For other moves, yeah, we could see them once in a while, but not every shift/period.

As for the ease of blowing by defensemen, I'm still testing, trying to be able to find the right balance.

          That’s my biggest fear (bold)
I really like your 21 slider, love the sloppy plays 2.

Hi, good to see that you keep posting your set for 21.
I have a question concerning the game, did they fix the close up cutscenes problems such as the referee trembling after calling a penalty or the players trembling when the play is dead? I hope that you understand what i'm referring to, it was such a big deal to me in 20 that made me lose enjoyment and immersion in the game

Yeah, I know what you're referring to. It didn't botter me as much as you since it wasn't in actual gameplay and only in cut scenes, but it was still pretty annoying, I agree with you about it. That doesn't mean it's gone for sure, but I don't think I saw it in NHL 21 so far or at least I don't remember seeing it.

I'll be posting my set as well soon, but I really had to crank the "back skating" slider up (I think around 70?) to sort of combat this issue.

It seems a bit better now with lower skating agility, but I'm still messing around with skating sliders, I may end up increasing back skating like you, it's a possibility.

I'll have to give your set a try tonight! I usually rock a set with higher AE than 5, but maybe that's why the game gets so out of whack sometimes.

5 games in a row now with 0 CPU penalties. Ridiculous. How they have this sake problem every year is disgusting from EA.

That's really strange. I've been using these with 10 min periods during my trial and I've had at least 4 PP's a game. Sometimes more. It honestly seemed like I was on the PP for a whole period once. Btw, I've noticed that 10 minute periods really don't skew stats much at all so maybe increasing that will help penalties for you. I know not everyone likes to play that long of periods.

I bumped CPU penalties to 95 to start seeing some PP's...I've had a good variety, anywhere from 0 to 5 PP a game

These sliders are good, but to make them great I dropped game speed to zero...play doesn't see so frantic now, loving it.

I hope on next gen they make the CPU smarter, when they're at home they should be trying to get favourable matchups, etc. And if you're going to implement new skill moves the CPU should be attempting them once in a while, still haven't seen the CPU attempt one of the new dekes
