My impression of this game so far.

First off, thank you for this game Spear. I have played 5 or 6 games so far. What I like is the physics of the game, the running, the cpu tackling, the recruiting is fun. Also being to able to customize so much is a great feature. Wish I could customize all the schools features.

What I don't like player control tackling, I just cant tackle anyone, collusion detention, I am walking through players, tables. Lack of sliders, I know there are some, but would like more. Also the fumbles, oh my, I must of fumbled five or six times in one game.

Overall, it's a solid game from an indie company. I am happy with my purchase.

This game feels a lot more polished than last year’s version. I know there’s still a lot of things to work out and that you guys only have so much money to work with.

For me personally is the immersion factor. If someone were doing some play by play I think that would help add to the experience. Maybe have Ryan Moody and the guy from MGN sports I think is the company, doing a radio broadcast during games or something.

I realize you guys don’t have your game where you want, but keep it up.

There isn't - will look into this though.

Unless theres a playable broadcast camera. I wont be purchasing. I seriously dont get how people play football with the vertical camera. Developer, i hope you patch in a user defined broadcast custom camera.

A much improved version straight out the gate. I am looking forward to seeing where this game ends after a few more patches. Last year, while I don’t regret the purchase, I only played it a few times. But this year I see my investment in this independent developer last year was a wise one.

Because some people like the perspective of being on the field. Opposed to the watching TV perspective.

I’m still available to do play-by-play. I have play-by-play experience too! Just throwing it out there, Spear... lol

lol. Was joking with a friend of mine that’s sports fan that they could have him do play by play for all I care. Also, I know this is secondary but when there are touchdowns, maybe fire up the band with an upbeat tune and have the crowd cheer. Either way, still great progress this year on it.

Myself and someone else in here we’re half jokingly trying to lobby Spear to let us do the play-by-play and color commentary last year. I say half joking because if I ask and jump at it

We do get a lot of requests for the commentary gig, definitely appreciate your interest. We have had preliminary discussions with folks that are regulars on TV. They've also shown the same interest haha.

I just picked up the game, I wasn't expecting a lot but was surprised at how playable it is. It reminds me a lot of Sierra's Front Page Sports Football series from the 90's, it was a fun game to customize leagues/jerseys/logos/plays which this game boasts. I think it's going to be fun playing the 130 team college league.

Re: My impression of this game so far.

This game has a few problems for me that last year had. One of them is kind of picky:

                          1) Can't tackle correctly. The dive animation takes way too long to make happen, and it only seems to have something like 8-direction functionality (and sometimes just seems to dive wherever the hell it wants to).

                          2) QB throw responsiveness is also laggy. The ball just doesn't come out on command like I'd like it to.

                          3) This is the picky one, but it would be really nice for the game to have a page of suggested plays, especially on defense. It's way too much for me to sift through and look at which play is doing what, personally. This is me not being a professionally-good playcaller for something that's more robust than "basic Blitz" playbooks.

                          4) Two inherent bits: the sprint button and overall breakaway speed. I was told a few months back that the sprint feature works, and in all honesty I don't see it. I'll be chased by somebody and toggle myself sprinting/not sprinting, and I never gain nor lose ground meanwhile. Plus, the defense doesn't even get to sprint, so that would certainly be an unfair advantage even if it does work. That last inherent problem is once I'm past the defender, I often can't be stopped. I don't know which sliders would take care of this since there isn't any sort of pursuit slider. I guess if any receiver has equal or greater speed to the DB's, you'll just get that touchdown.

I was really hoping this year's game would address these things. There are other glitches here and there (some pretty funny ones of the play continuing when it shouldn't), but those aren't the ones which nag at me with the game's overall play like these four do, especially since they were in last year's installment.

I'd say if these were addressed, then you have something I can at least keep coming back to and making the best of. Right now, the only fun aspect of this game (as was last year) is the running game. Defense is just impossible to do anything with, and passing can be a crapshoot.

Anyway, I'll keep supporting and investing each year that you all put out a product, but there are my impressions for now.

I will say passing can be weird. I can say that you can notice the qb under throwing while getting ready to be hit. I think the passing needs tweaked a little. Maybe emulate the system the last ncaa games had of leading the receivers with the control stick. Madden may yet have this.

To the guy above, they released a lot of patches last year. I would expect that patches this year may address a bit of stuff also.

These don't seem like game bugs though, they all seem like game design. They are inherent to the game's nature for now, or triggered from their animations. I don't think they'd also patch in "suggested plays," that would have to come with the territory of a new game with a massive algorithm running in the background. Plus, their claim is that the sprint feature works and is as intended (though I do find it weird that only a ball carrier gets to use it).

Last year they did patch in these sliders, but did anyone find out which slider remedied the breakaway touchdowns? I know CB's will cover the passes better, but what about after it's caught and they're passed up even slightly? That's the troublesome part.
