Re: Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1 & 2 Impressions
The intro video is amazing
22 characters
Custom character is cool but not super super deep but still good you can wear a covid mask lol.
Graphics are gorgeous.
I couldnt steer with the stick in the demo, had to use dpad but I can use the stick in the full game.
It's so fitting that the playable characters are an even mix of dudes from the time of the original and skaters from this generation. Riley Hawk looks amazing.
I wasnt sure about the bail rewind animation in the demo but playing the retail I think it's quite fitting to the hectic pace of trying to complete a bunch of challenges in 2 minutes.
Theres 9 levels in thps1 and 8 in thps2
Can I kick it by Tribe called Quest just came on. One of my absolute favourite songs of all time.
I'm giddy as hell right now.Last edited by CujoMatty; 09-04-2020, 12:04 AM.2016 NLL Champion Saskatchewan Rush

Only played for about 20 minutes, but man it took me back in time! The game felt like the original games with better graphics. It was nice to nail some of the old moves! I cannot wait to dig in tomorrow after work.Comment

Re: Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1 & 2 Impressions
I am shocked at how quickly my muscle memory from Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 4 came back. I haven't used that part of my brain since the first Underground game came out. In 2003.
Early impressions is that this game is a remaster done right. It is a joy to play, even if I can't throw down million-point combos like I used to hahaha. And the soundtrack is great, as is standard for these games.Comment

This was my biggest take-a-way too. I started hitting combos and I was in heaven.Comment

This game masterfully mixes old and new almost like they are ushering in a resurgence to the genre. The old school characters mixed with new. Old and new music that compliment the soundtrack so well. It's all just really cleverly done. I dont know if they plan on continuing to do this with Tony Hawk games but I feel like this game is going to be a big enough success to warrant it.2016 NLL Champion Saskatchewan Rush

Re: Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1 & 2 Impressions
Got to really sink my teeth into this after work today and I am even more blown away.
I mentioned earlier the create a skater wasn't very deep but it's actually pretty awesome. I thought it might be an after thought for me but i'm genuinely interested in buying boards, gear and tattoos.
I did the tutorials also and the gameplay is deeper than I remembered. I don't remember 1 & 2 having wall slides and special moves. Did the originals have all these skills?
I know i'm gushing but I can't help it. Everything about this game is just super cool.2016 NLL Champion Saskatchewan Rush

Re: Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1 & 2 Impressions
I been playing this since I bought it today and it is so amazing. The menus and the interface kinda reminds me of a ps2 game which is a good thing as it makes it feel throwback. I jumped straight to 2 as it was the one I played the most and the controls came back automatically to me lol, cant wait to get down the new stuff they added. I was so happy griding at the high school with No Cigar playing like i was back playing in elementary school l.

Re: Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1 & 2 Impressions
All you need to know is that if you like Tony Hawk games this is a 10/10. Everything feels just right. So much so that I was trying to hit the pause button where it would have been on a ps2 controller. Played for about 5 hours and i was sucked in the whole time. If I had a complaint is that the soundtrack isn't quite loud enough or it's not mixed very well. Maybe an audio settings issue.
I managed to 100% THPS2. Everything was where it should be. It was slightly easier because the draw distance was a lot better than the ps1 days. To make up for it, grabbing icons seems like it's alot more rigid. Several times you'll swear you got it but just barely miss it.
I got worried when I saw that there's only 1 career for all skaters but then I realized all had their own separate goals to accomplish in levels with high scores and getting stats. Seems like it's gonna be a long game but in a good way.
Animated decks look awesome
Create a Skater is fine. My only complaint is that you don't have different builds. You can have a male body or female body. But the body builds are the same. Tall and thin.
I haven't touched the park editor yet but there's already some really good ones available to play.
There is a store but hopefully it doesn't go the crash team racing route and all microtransactions later on.

Re: Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1 & 2 Impressions
I ordered the collectors edition back in May, it should be arriving today. I got it for my best friends birthday, though, so I stopped by Best Buy yesterday after work and grabbed a copy of the game for myself. Popped it in around 7 and played until 1 or 2 this morning. 100% THPS1 with The Chief. I'll be going through THPS2 with Bobby B. I got chills when the intro started...playing Tony Hawk games has been a huge part of my life. I still play most of them regularly, having my 64, Gamecube, and PS2 set up in different areas of the house. To say that I've been eagerly awaiting this game would be an understatement. I was worried that it would feel like the Tony Hawk HD game from a couple of years ago, but from my first 360 flip down the roll-in at the Warehouse, I knew that it had been done right.
I haven't been this excited to ignore my live-in girlfriend all weekend in a while (well, at least since Skater XL came out in July)...Comment

I'm loving the game all around.
I want a new skate game now though...Originally posted by Balldude777In this case the lasagna restaurant started selling candy to kids and that became the best revenue stream so they’ve let the lasagna get worse and focused on becoming a candy store. Re: Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1 & 2 Impressions
Got to play for about 2 hours last night and i am loving it. I never played much of 1 and 2 got into tony hawk 3 when it came out and on gamecube when i was 12. So adjusting to playing tony hawk on a different system. They where some of my all time favorite games. This looks and plays great just fells like the older games before they started to suck after wasteland. 9.5/10 is what i would give it. My only issue is the newer music is not that good and i love that you can download other peoples levels but it looks like there is no way to do a 2 minute run on downloadable levels. But yeah loving it already want a tony hawk 3-4 and underground 1-2 remake has those games are way better than 1-2 where. So far my highest combo is about 480000. I have not tried online yet may have to check that out.Comment
