With the understanding that EA sports games are typically updated constantly after launch and are generally considered better games many months after release then on their release date (and for a fraction of the price), what would yall say is the benefit to buying UFC 4 on release? Of course we don’t know what changes are in it now but the odds of it not being patched/updated constantly are slim since it’s an EA sports title.

Buying UFC 4 at launch
Just a question/debate topic for the community.

Re: Buying UFC 4 at launch
And thats whats exactly wrong with peoples mindset.
You buy an EA game just because EA put it outthere.
Unfinished. No balance. Nobody cares. But the Microtransaction feature works 100%. Guaranteed.
MY ADVICE TO EVERYONE WHO WASNT HAPPY WITH UFC 3...
Dont pre-order. Save the money and get EA access instead. Test the game for 6 hrs. Dont throw your money away for a game that is 90% like UFC 3.
I do think the new game will be better than UFC 3 simply because of the extra dev time. But I will still test it, before Im buying it. And you should do the same.Comment

This but there are also people who will see what the new game is and will be OK with buying it at release and as you said, people who just want to play a new game.Comment

I merely ask to hear your opinion on it. I bought every ufc game like you mentioned asap, after ufc 3 I have been reconsidering my positionComment

Re: Buying UFC 4 at launch
Are you concerned at all that the price you pay for the game may not reflect a finished game? Or that the game might be available for cheaper with potentially better improvements months after release?

Re: Buying UFC 4 at launch
I'll wait for the first reviews and probably the first big patch before considering to buy.
That's why I'm not really bothered with news. A reveal trailer does nothing for me. I'll wait 'til the youtubers get ahold of it, and that's gonna be a while.Comment

Re: Buying UFC 4 at launch
This is the first time I’m seriously considering not buying UFC at launch and the main reasoning is because I can almost guarantee I can get a better version of the game a few months later for a discounted price. (Don’t get me wrong, I really hope that I’m proven wrong here but I just don’t trust EA as a company after many iterations of sports titles)Comment

Re: Buying UFC 4 at launch
That is an excellent question! Haha. Honestly Im humble enough to admit I am not really sure. All I know is the game I spent $60 bucks for at launch was definitely worse and had many things missing from it that was later added to it. And that same game, which in my opinion was significantly better months after launch, could be bought for about half the price I spent with much more features.

There is still a chance that the new dev or devs in charge of this will do as much work as GPD did but this is a new world. I'm preparing for the worst and hoping for the best.Comment

Re: Buying UFC 4 at launch
It really depends on what your priorities are. I get 2k on sale since I only play it offline and I don't mind waiting a few months but there's other games that I am more inclined to get on launch.
Whether I get UFC 4 on launch depends on how I feel about the game and whether I'd rather play other fighting games.¯\_(ツ)_/¯Comment
