Is this pno or my career?
Its basicially comes down to the match up and wether or not you can predict where the opponent is going.
With clamps if you can predict it right, you can stop it.
Lightning reflexes can help you give an early cue.
But if that other person has a much faster or stronger build with enough ball handle and badges its still going to be tough.
PNO its pretty much all about the match up as well.
If you have a guy like harden that can drive and shoot id put klay on him if im the warriors and then have curry sag off on westbrook to force jumpshots.
Against portland id have klay on lillard though and have curry play tight on i forgot his name.
Personally i always force baseline as its easier to predict where the player is going and you can try a charge.
Not to mention the boundary is your friend.
If its to hard you can always do double team on drive.
